Late August Update: Join us this weekend for a Full Moon that should be epic. The river is at its 100% peak best summer quality. Very warm and PERFECT for lounging, floating, kayaking and snorkeling (20 ft visibility or better).
A few details about our sites in the general camping area: Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10,11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6,7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others.
Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended.
We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans
4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events.
Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. Cash venmo paypal zelle all accepted upon arrival. If ordering firewood using the "extra" feature, 1 load is $20.00 which is a 1/2 nights supply. Order 2 if you want a full night/morning supply. Welcome to creek-side camping on our picturesque 16 acre farm! Here are a few ground rules to help with your stay -PLEASE READ SO NONE OF THIS IS A SURPRISE-:
- OVERLANDERS: You can bring your overland camper if you want, but you must park your vehicle in the parking spot across from your site at sites 1-3. It is a safety issue to block the entryway/exit lane. Site 4 is large enough to accommodate your vehicle and these rules do not apply there.
-This is a place for relaxation and reflection by the creek. No loud groups, or partying allowed. If your neighbor can hear your music it is too loud. If your host can hear it, you will be asked to turn it down or off all together. Again, please come here to chill, playing football/volleyball or similar sports and screaming/cheering while your neighbor is trying to enjoy their time here is rude.
-This is a pack it in, pack it out site. This includes food waste, and any garbage produced. Please respect that :) DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BURN ANY WASTE IN THE FIRE RING BEFORE CHECKING OUT. DO NOT THROW FOOD SCRAPS IN THE CREEK!
-There is NO FISHING, kayaking or boating. Go for a swim and float, no prob! But please float in the vicinity of your camp, so as not to disturb other campers.
- Please do not invite visitors to your campsite. This is an insurance issue, no exceptions. If you want friends and family to experience our beautiful spot, please have them sign up and book a site, wouldn't that be more fun anyway!? People coming to our land who are not booked at a site will immediately be shown off the property.
-Due to many guests asking for earlier arrival and later departure times, we are strictly adhering to the posted check in and check out times.
- No generators!

Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career.

30 acres of mostly reclaimed farmland. We are located where Glade Creek flows into the Monocacy River. There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive.
Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing.
Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support!

Historical towns within 10 miles any direction are reached over rolling countryside. Gettysburg is less than 20 miles. Baltimore is less than an hours ride by open highway. Blue Ridge mountains 18 miles. Taneytown, 1836, has an extraordinary antique store that is a delight to browse; as well as fine dining, drive through, an open air beer garden and close by grocery stores. Homemade ice cream is found at Baugher's and Hoffmans in Westminster. Baugher's Orchard has "pick your own" available. There is a mini farm animal petting zoo at the orchard.

With 15,000 wooded acres, Pocomoke River State Park’s claim to fame is its stand of loblolly pine and cypress swamps bordering a wild and scenic river. It’s divided into two parts, Shad Landing (south side) and Milburn Landing (north side), which are about a 25 minute drive apart. The combination of ecosystems means the park is home to a plethora of plant and animal life including white dogwood and pink laurel trees, river otters, bald eagles and over 50 species of fish.There is no shortage of traditional camping activities, but the park also boasts an Olympic-sized swimming pool in case you decide “I can’t take this no more," and make like Squints from the Sandlot. The park's name may mean black water, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take your baby down to Pocomoke where you can get there fast and then take it slow.

The original river campsite has been moved to a more remote spot so that all campers can access the pond and pier to the river.
Farm encompasses nearly 300 acres on the Patuxent River. There is access to the river on high tide via our private creek (must bring your own canoe or kayak) and 150 acres of marshland. Over 100 acres of woods to walk through and a pond for wildlife watching.

The site owner was really great in getting in touch with me to let me know that there might be bad weather. He was extremely helpful and wanted everyone to have a great time.
When they say the water on the river is warm in August they really mean it it's like bathtub warm. It is very calm even after it rained, we just sat in inner tubes and went kayaking for a couple hours. Before that we hiked down the path in the cool forest along the river.
This site is great it basically has every kind of campsite you could want. Tents on top of a hill next is bring your own tent camping then down below are picnic sites next to the forest and the river. Lot of space to enjoy.
The top area is easy to get to with a low car. If you had a lower car with a spoiler wouldn't go by the tents / river. Very quick easy walk from above though.

This is now my favorite camping site in the DMV area. The river, the nature, the wild flowers maze, everything was magical. The bathroom amenities makes camping so much less treacherous for someone like me who desires comfort even while in nature. The hosts are generous and helpful. 10/10 and we will definitely be back.

I had brought a small group to test out the site to see if it would be a fit for my group of friends. Getting to see the horses, chickens, and peacocks were really a huge highlight for all campers. The electric and water systems was really creative and honestly was a huge benefit. The porta potties were clean. Being near the creek and playground were a huge bonus, even to us big kids (aka adults). I really am excited to plan another trip with a bigger group. Can't wait to go back.

We truly enjoyed tent camping on Peggy’s farm. We had a nice shady spot that looked out over the pond. There was water and electricity when we needed it. Our dogs loved running around and swimming.

Pros: so peaceful! We never saw or heard another person throughout our stay from 7pm until 11am the following day. Loved that we were able to scavenge for wood and build a fire. Bathrooms were nearby, clean and free. Cons: no source of drinking water. It was a little strange pulling up to the front gate, which was a bungy cord across the road that had to be opened and closed by us. Honor system! But we got used to it

This was my first time booking Grove Point, and using Hipcamp. What an amazing inaugural trip! Eagle's Nest was the perfect location on the water, and I appreciate how secluded it was. The directions to the actual site were very clear and easy to follow. The sunset was incredible and I enjoyed swimming although the beach is mostly rocky. The birdwatching was great too, I will definitely return to this spot.

Beautiful well maintained property. The site was private, peaceful and quiet. Perfect proximity to the creek. Primitive camp setting but town is close by if you need something. Porta Potty was close and clean. Host was welcoming and responsive. Can’t wait to go back!

The woods are beautiful. An old forest where it's very easy to get around if you don't want to use the trails. Moss and ferns everywhere. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed camping at pond site 1. The spot was beautiful. The firepit could definitely use some building up. The bathroom was really convenient but not up kept well. Spider and spider webbs ceiling was falling down. The pond was beautiful, plenty of amazing big and small mouth bass.

We love the place and spacious site. There’s a convenient store where you can easily walk and buy some stuff you need for fishing/crabbing and for any other stuffs. The site has a very good view and they have a great option to book a site with water and electricity which is great! Especially in this heat weather. We just decided to go back home for the 2nd night as the weather was too hot and we couldn’t handle it anymore. And one thing about the site, since it’s surrounded by the bay, there’s a lot of geese poop, but Katie was very accommodating. She had let us borrow the broom, so we were able to clean up those in our site. We’ll still definitely go back to that site when the weather is cooler since it has a great view and convenience to a fishing/crabbing spot!
