HUNTER&#x27;S PARK BY WASHINGTON, DC

This place was awesome! Annette took our kids up to see the horses! Brought her amazing dogs down for all the pets! There were lights strung up to help with visibility in the woods, we had an outdoor sink, electricity, access to a shower, ports potty’s and we were camped next to a little river, it wasn’t deep enough for swimming, but the kids had a great time skipping rocks, sitting in the water, catching minnows and crawfish. There was plenty of wood laying around for our fire pit. No one cared that we were up late listening to music, having kids running around screaming. And it was awesome, I would 10/10 recommend this place to stay and will stay again. Only negative I have is the public park down the way that was mentioned “black hills regional park” did not allow boats with gasoline motors and rentals with electric motors were limited to people with the boating safety course, the sea weed made fishing rough, but the water was warm enough to swim and a great place to visit.

Very hospitable. An absolutely beautiful property. The farm is an easy drive into Frederick, but also feels like you are in the middle of nowhere in a good way. We had a lot of fun exploring the property especially the creek and getting eggs from Kara’s Coop:)

Best camping for Group family July

"We had such a wonderful time camping at Hunters Park from July 17–19! Our group of 10 adults and 8 kids had an absolute blast. The kids especially loved playing in the creek, walking around the horse barn, and collecting chicken eggs—it was such a memorable experience for them. The host, Kim, was incredibly nice and very accommodating throughout our stay. It was also such a nice touch that there was a small freezer with ice pops available for the kids to purchase; they really enjoyed those! We all had the best time and will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!"

Had the BEST time at Mezza Luna horse farm for my birthday weekend. Camped with 10 other friends at site T1. Plenty of space for tents, nice trees for hammocks, and the amenities (sink w/ running water, porta potty, and picnic tables) were perfect with a couple of first time campers in the group. The people at the farm made the experience special too - after chatting with Annette, she brought her dogs over to our camp. And of course the best part about the camp is the horses!! Would absolutely camp here again.

Our new favorite place!

We were visiting family in Damascus, MD and Hunter’s Park hosted by Kim worked perfectly. She met us at the barn and we followed the camp host through the farm to our site. The campsite we were in was RV5. It was flat with amenities. We loved our site and highly recommend it. The camp host was fantastic, my apologies for forgetting her name already. Kim’s place was our favorite on our 5 week trip! Don’t hesitate to stay here! Great location.

We loved staying at Hunter's Park! It was beautiful to wake up and see the horses right outside our window. We got to visit them in the stables and see the chickens and PEACOCKS! Kim, and everyone there, were so kind and helpful! If you stay in RV1 go super slow coming in, because it is JUST past the gate. It took some maneuvering on our part, but we'll worth it for the view. We'll absolutely be back again!

The Ideal Campsite

We three ladies enjoyed a peaceful, well-hosted outing at Hunter's Park this weekend. Our campsite was perfect - spacious, surrounded by trees, a stream adjacent, kid play equipment, sink with running water, clean (!) portapot onsite, suspended lights at night, firewood available, and a gracious camp manager who introduced us to all of the horses and allowed us to feed carrots to them. Absolute heaven! Would recommend; 5 stars+.

What a beautiful spot! I stayed one night and thoroughly enjoyed the site, the stream right behind it, and the horses all around. The host was responsive and the site was easy to find. There was sufficient cell service too. I would love to come again!

This was a nice place to act as our base of operations for a series of four day trips into Washington DC and back. The site was nice and level with easy access to the water, sewer, and electric. 50 amps is always a bonus. The horses were nice to see grazing in their paddocks and waking up to the roosters was a nice flash back to when we used to raise our own livestock. If we were to head back to the area, this would be a definite place to stay over.

My kids and I LOVED Kim’s farm! It was an idyllic setting with great views of the hills and horses, the peaceful sound of the creek, and just enough shade to keep from burning in the sun. T6 site was the perfect size for my suv and travel trailer, and the amenities made camping with kids so much easier. Miss Annette is also a child whisperer and great host, and my kids loved seeing the horses and feeding chickens with her! We will absolutely be back

Easy Button Camping!!!

This is not my first Hipcamp and I have to say this one is absolutely top tier! Where to start? We stayed at "primative" site T7 and I put primative in quotes because it had a freshly cleaned porta potty, a sink with running water, and camping lights overhead which gave us access to a 110 outlet if needed. The site was right on the creek in a heavily wooded area so shade was great and the kids played in the water all day. Then we enjoyed going to look at the horses and the chickens. And the host was gracious and inviting and the staff onsite at the stables were also incredibly kind to the kids as well. There is plenty of wood for sale, the wifi is a luxury and they even had bottles of water and ice pops for sale for the kids. This place is just one big easy button as far as camping goes. I can't wait to go back!

Great Place to Camp! Beautiful Farm

Hunters Park at Mezza Luna Farm was awesome. We stayed in the T1 site. Plenty of room for multiple tents and cars. There's firewood for sale right by the site, which was very convenient. There was an outdoor sink at the site, which was nice (though in colder months the water is shut off). There's a porta potty that was very clean - maybe the cleanest portapotty I've ever seen. The farm is beautiful with lots of horses to see. You're allowed to go visit them in the stables. There's plenty of paths to walk around the property if you want to go on a hike. Keith came by to visit - very friendly and welcoming. One family in our group had a couple small children. They did fine and loved seeing the horses. Damascus is very close by - easy access to groceries if you need anything. We'll be back again!

Our group of nearly 30 people (including 20 kids!) had the most incredible time at this horse farm campsite. It was truly out-of-this-world perfect! The property is beautiful, peaceful, and full of fun things to do, but what really made the experience special was Keith, the owner. He is so kind, welcoming, and helpful—he went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right for us. The kids loved every minute, from exploring the farm to visiting the horses, and the adults couldn’t have asked for a better setting to relax and enjoy time together. It’s rare to find a place that works so well for such a big group, but this farm was absolutely perfect. We’ve already decided this will be an annual event and can’t wait to be back next fall. Highly, highly recommend!
