Glampin' at Mulehalla #1
The whole experience was great. We did have a little trouble finding the site. But it was quiet and beautiful.

Site 8 - Mulehalla on the Potomac River
Great location near c&o
Great place to camp if you are biking the c&o canal. Especially with the current detour 9n the path, you will be passing right by it.

Site 1 - Mulehalla on the Potomac River
Not "just steps off the C&O canal"
Not as pictured or described on website. A confusing and twisted detoured hike to the river due to heavy construction not mentioned by the host. Sites are close together in a field surrounded by a neighborhood and served by one blue portapotty. We did not end up staying overnight due to heat, persistent bugs and a general feeling of unease being a female alone in this area.

Glampin' at Mulehalla #1
I loved glamping at mulehalla. The tent was very cute as well as the wood futon, table set and little fire pit made for a great stay. The directions were not clear upon arrival on how to find the tent and the order of the site numbers did not make sense as they are not in order. This site is directly to your left as you enter, next to site 11 and across the campground from site 2 and it is the only glamping tent that is already set up which we were unsure of at first. Also when we got there we wanted to go to the c&o canal or the Potomac river as mentioned in the description but most of the entrances were on private property so it took us almost an hour to figure out spot we could even get close enough to see the water. The campground itself was well kept and very beautiful, would definitely recommend.

Although we only spent a night there, because we were passing through on to our home base, we would stay there again. The site was big, clean and quiet. Our host checked in to see if we needed anything. Overall a very pleasant experience

Safe, dog friendly camping!
I had a great time camping at Mulehalla! This was the first time I had ever camped alone (with my dog, Hank) and felt very safe. Kevin was a wonderful host and very accommodating. The campsites were far enough apart so that you didn't feel like you were right on top of each other. The other campers were very friendly. I will definitely be back. Hopefully with a group of friends!

The sites were closer together than I expected, however, everyone was super friendly. The river is a walk and a half to get to but worth the energy. Overall, the space was clean, respectful and enjoyable.

Site 11 - Mulehalla on the Potomac River
The property is well laid out and our site (11) was the most secluded. It was great to have a tranquil evening stay after a long day of driving and hiking. The new bathrooms are a nice upgrade over the composting toilets or outhouses you might see at other places. If we are ever in the area again it will certainly be on our list of places to stay!

Beautiful area and close to the Potomac and bike trail on the canal. I would just suggest better markings of the sites so it’s easier to find your site.

We so enjoyed the tranquility and privacy of our stay.
The walk to the river took us 15 minutes and on the way back it’s a steep climb! This is due to necessary work being carried out on the canal path.
We drove to a boat ramp, number 4, and found a lovely spot for fishing.
Would definitely camp there again

Tons of space and amazing hosts!
SO MUCH BEAUTIFUL SPACE! If you want tree coverage or might be camping in some rain and need to hang tarps, site 7 is where it's at!
We had a campsite booked 4 hours away that was not as expected and found Mulehalla last minute as our bail out for July 4th weekend. They were the nicest people, the area was so clean and massive. Our dogs had THE BEST TIME, they absolutely loved the hosts. We were sad to pack up and head to our next camp but once again, it was not as expected. We quickly booked the nights we could with Mulehalla and drove back immediately to ask if we could stay that night as well since we couldn't book it online. They were so nice and let us stay the one night for free. We camped for 5 days with them. They do music events in the summer and we can't wait to be back!
It's a short little walk to the towpath and on your way, there is a little stream. A great place to let the dogs splash around. There use to be water access to the Potomac River from the tow path right where the trail drops you to the river but it's under construction currently. However, there is a dock to get down to the water further down the tow path and you can't miss it! It's perfect for a refreshing jump!
Thank you again Kevin and Bernadette! You saved our camping trip and we can't wait to come back. We will see you soon!

Doesn’t get better!!!!!
Best hosts ever!!! Very well maintained with more amenities than listed. Perfect sized camp sites. Oh and I mention the hosts rock!! They took us on a free kayak ride on the river. With the price of gas they spent more on our experience than we spent on the site. This will be my first and only review on this site because nothing will top the experience, friendships, hospitality, and time I had. Bringing the kids next time which will be within weeks!!!

Site 11 - Mulehalla on the Potomac River
Private Large Campsite
Sites spaced far apart. Lots of privacy, shade and a short walk to the new bathrooms. At #11 a large picnic table and great fire pit were provided. There are several flat places to pitch large tents. The owner was very friendly and helpful, he made sure our stay was perfect. I highly recommend camping at Mulehalla. Be sure to stop by the farm store Deliteful Dairy nearby for panini's and their excellent cheese curds and soft serve!

Exceeded expectations!
We loved tent camping at Mulehalla!! It was nice and quiet but still a short driving distance from local activities. We camped on a Thursday night and actually had the entire campground to ourselves. The owner was super nice and welcomed us to the campground. He informed us about all the ammentities and where they were and what we could explore around the campground. I will certainly camp there again if we are in the area!

We greatly enjoyed staying at site 10 and getting to explore the C&O using the trail just nearby. The site was very spacious for the two of us and our dog and could have easily accommodated multiple tents.
