Late August Update: Join us this weekend for a Full Moon that should be epic. The river is at its 100% peak best summer quality. Very warm and PERFECT for lounging, floating, kayaking and snorkeling (20 ft visibility or better).
A few details about our sites in the general camping area: Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10,11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6,7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others.
Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended.
We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans
4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events.
Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career.

30 acres of mostly reclaimed farmland. We are located where Glade Creek flows into the Monocacy River. There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive.
Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing.
Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support!

With 15,000 wooded acres, Pocomoke River State Park’s claim to fame is its stand of loblolly pine and cypress swamps bordering a wild and scenic river. It’s divided into two parts, Shad Landing (south side) and Milburn Landing (north side), which are about a 25 minute drive apart. Blue Ridge mountains 18 miles. Taneytown, 1836, has an extraordinary antique store that is a delight to browse; as well as fine dining, drive through, an open air beer garden and close by grocery stores. Homemade ice cream is found at Baugher's and Hoffmans in Westminster. Baugher's Orchard has "pick your own" available. There is a mini farm animal petting zoo at the orchard.

45-acre Historic farm, several sites to choose from depending on adventure wanderlust (including a 4WD drive site). Located on private gravel lane, approximately 1/2 mile off county road. Either corn or soybeans with a woods backdrop. Secluded and private, yet 25 minutes to downtown Annapolis, 10 minutes to the Bay, great for cycling, paddleboarding, kayaking all 10/15 minutes from farm. DC 45 minutes, Baltimore 1 hour. Jug Bay wetlands, wineries, fun little waterfront towns and Bay front restaurants all within easy reach.
Check out individual sites for description, each has its own personality. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. First listing actually has several options. For large campers/coach/fifth wheelers the area by the tractor shed will be the best. Around the corner there's two other choices both with firepits which will accommodate units up to 40 feet depending on your backing/maneuvering skills.
Field of Dreams and Sycamore Ridge will accommodate campers under 25 feet with some backing/maneuvering skills.
For those with 4WD and an off-road camper/trailer/tent choose Off the Grid, two entrances for easy access, travel along a logging road to an open site with fire pit. Suitable during dry conditions and not responsible for damage to vehicle or camper. Great spot for those who truly want to be in the woods off the beaten path, site takes about 5 minutes to reach due to low-speed access.

There are three campsites on the farm, one by the pond and two by the river. Very secluded and all sites include , firepit, log bench,

The original river campsite has been moved to a more remote spot so that all campers can access the pond and pier to the river.
Farm encompasses nearly 300 acres on the Patuxent River. There is access to the river on high tide via our private creek (must bring your own canoe or kayak) and 150 acres of marshland. Over 100 acres of woods to walk through and a pond for wildlife watching.

The site owner was really great in getting in touch with me to let me know that there might be bad weather. He was extremely helpful and wanted everyone to have a great time.
When they say the water on the river is warm in August they really mean it it's like bathtub warm. It is very calm even after it rained, we just sat in inner tubes and went kayaking for a couple hours. Before that we hiked down the path in the cool forest along the river.
This site is great it basically has every kind of campsite you could want. Tents on top of a hill next is bring your own tent camping then down below are picnic sites next to the forest and the river. Lot of space to enjoy.
The top area is easy to get to with a low car. If you had a lower car with a spoiler wouldn't go by the tents / river. Very quick easy walk from above though.

This is now my favorite camping site in the DMV area. The river, the nature, the wild flowers maze, everything was magical. The bathroom amenities makes camping so much less treacherous for someone like me who desires comfort even while in nature. The hosts are generous and helpful. 10/10 and we will definitely be back.

This spot was very nice - on the water although the beach had a lot of wood washed up. It was very quiet no noise what so ever except the thunderstorm that came through . Just becareful to check with the host if you don't have a 4wd - I didn't and he said it was ok and it was, but after the storm leaving it was ok but another storm I think the exiting road maybe hard to manage. Nice chairs, nice breeze and quiet.

This place was a nice quiet hide away from every thing. We were able to relax around the fire at night after the hustle and bustle of the beach trip during the day. It was a great way to unwind and it’s definitely what we needed! TJ is super responsive and is a great host! There’s a little pond with a bridge over it where we enjoyed watching the turtles and the fish. There were so many turtles in one spot! There are also goats that roam that were awesome to watch.

I had brought a small group to test out the site to see if it would be a fit for my group of friends. Getting to see the horses, chickens, and peacocks were really a huge highlight for all campers. The electric and water systems was really creative and honestly was a huge benefit. The porta potties were clean. Being near the creek and playground were a huge bonus, even to us big kids (aka adults). I really am excited to plan another trip with a bigger group. Can't wait to go back.

First off, Taylor’s Landing is awesome! We brought a small Scout troop who had a blast. The river and rope swing and floaties were great. The local cave (bring a flashlight!) is about 1.5mi north along the Towpath (you won’t miss it) and was cool! The campsite itself was peaceful and the train noise was faint. The firepit was brick and did not have a grill top (bring your own). You could occasionally hear people on the Towpath, but not annoyingly so. Portapots were clean and stocked with TP and hand sanitizer. The afternoon sun was warm in August (river is east, sun sets over the hill), but the sunshade was perfect. We also went to the Crystal Grottos which was pricey but worth it!
But, there are a few things to know. First, there is a VERY STEEP gravel hill to get to the lower sites. My AWD truck has off-road tires and was skidding a bit. A FWD car (minivan) had a super hard time going up to exit, even when bone dry (5-6x before success). I’d hesitate to try without 4WD/AWD. And I’d be very nervous with a trailer or tow camper. But you can use the Hilltops or park on the main road and walk down. Second, to get to the Potomac itself, you scramble down the old (dry) C&O and up the other side, cross the Towpath, then scramble down very steep steps to the river. Those with mobility issues won’t make it. It’s a primitive site: bring all your own water (drinking and clean up).
We will ABSOLUTELY come back, although Hilltops only unless everyone has 4WD/AWD!

Well equipped campsite with great views! The 4 of us slept comfortably here in the 2 A-frames, which were clean and more spacious than expected. The site is very peaceful and secluded, and we had a good view of the night sky for the meteor shower. It was also fun to watch the curious alpacas on the other side of the fence. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!
