From the ocean to the mountains, there's plenty of nature to explore in Maryland—and there's no better way to do so than with your four-legged friends. Outdoor lovers who want to bring their pets along will find plenty of options in the Old Line State. Most Maryland state parks and national parks in the region are pet-friendly, and there are also a number of private dog-friendly camping options across the state. Camp with the wild horses—and your pup—on the beach in Assateague State Park, or head to Deep Creek Lake State Park, where dogs are welcome in the waters, trails, and some camping loops. Pets are also allowed in some cabins at Herrington Manor State Park and New Germany State Park, as well as in the campground and trails at Cunningham Falls State Park and Gambrill State Park, among others. Many private campgrounds and RV parks also offer pet-friendly options, in addition to extras like swimming pools, playgrounds, and wifi.

Just as shown. Reviews are correct. Excellent location and private. Only critique would be that it is just off a rural highway, but truthfully there is only about one car every 5 minutes during the day, and then virtually none at night. We would definitely stay here again.

Quiet and peaceful spot all by it's self. Easy to find and back into. There are lots of deer and you will have horses for neighbors :) I stayed a couple nights here as I was hiking near by. There are 3 other Hipcamp sites on the property and even with all of them booked, it was still very quiet. I would stay again if were in the area. Thanks for having us!

Very beautiful campsite, as others mentioned it's sort of close to a road but it's set far back enough to feel private and I personally found the sound of cars soothing. Nice place for a paddle, the stars are really bright at night, and there's some restaurants and a general store within driving distance. Take warnings about bugs seriously. I caught some croaker and a sea trout here but there's also a lot of crabs. 15 minutes from Blackwater Wildlife Refuge.

We loved this hip camp. Everything was well maintained including the port-o-potty, driveway including stone parking area for our teardrop camper, mowed lawn, fire ring, picnic table, 2 kayaks and easy access to the water. We caught 22 crabs from the shore and cooked them up for dinner. Sunsets were AMAZING. The moon and stars at night were surreal. We could even see the milky-way. No houses around and very little traffic on the road. We kayaked and biked right from the property. We will definitely be back!

Very cool spot! Dogs loved this place! View is excellent. Sunset was spectacular. Spot is close to and visible from main road, however still felt private. The minimal bit of passing traffic noise didn't bother us at all. Wife was super happy with the cleanliness of porta john. Elliott was super friendly and communication was perfect. Will absolutely be back and keep this property in our camping rotation. Thanks again!

Gee, what can I say, this place is a little slice of paradise. If your looking for peace and quiet and seclusion you got it. The site is well maintained right down to the toilet.. We have a 16 ft camper and you will have to get yours turned around, , so keep that in mind You are right on the water and the only access would be through the marsh grass. Sunsets are amazing. There was a costal food warning out during our stay and parts or the site got soggy, something to keep in mind if your tent camping. We will be back 😀

No pictures can truly do this place justice. You just have to see it for yourself. Even in the sweltering heat of mid August, this was amazing. As long as you make sure to provide yourself with shade and bug protection, you'll be just fine. We had a screened in canopy tent that we barely used just in case the bugs were bad, but simple bug spray did the trick. Definitely bring an open air canopy to escape the sun every now and then. Elliot is a great host. The land was very well maintained and the bathroom facility was very clean. The kayaking was fantastic. I used a foldable that held up just fine on the water and Elliot even has 2 hard shell kayaks on site that he let us use. The only people that shouldn't go here are the ones who are allergic to amazing views and water. Highly recommend.

We give this site a million stars! What an incredible location! We were able to let our dogs off leash- there was no way to lose them, and we saw not another human soul the entire three night stay. The site is huge, the view is gorgeous, there is tons of shade, trees for hammocks and a slack line. The place is just perfect with a front row seat to the sunset every night. There is a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, fire pit, and a great outhouse, as you’ve probably read in other reviews. The only bummer was that we couldn’t find access to the water from the site. We had our kayak and paddle board but didn’t get a chance to use them. Nevertheless, WE WILL BE BACK!

We had a great time at Parsons landing! Definitely bring your bug spray and citronella, especially for the evenings. Early dinners and card games in our tent also help get less bites. The sunsets are absolutely beautiful to watch, over the water. We brought our canoe and took out the supplied kayaks on a few occasions and it was just lovely. The currents are pretty calm and not overwhelming which was my concern, being near the bay. And the breeze was great! We even found some beaches to land on and play in the sand. The grass area to pitch a tent is huge and the fire pit large (no grate). Picnic table and also a large 6 ft plastic table are available. Outhouse was fine, the guy actually came to clean it while we were there so we had a nice powerwashed bathroom after the first night. It is kind of close to the road, but there's not a ton of traffic. There's a lovely market a bit up the street called Emily's that sold great produce and ice cream.

Welcome to creek-side camping on our picturesque 16 acre farm! Here are a few ground rules to help with your stay -PLEASE READ SO NONE OF THIS IS A SURPRISE-: -Dogs are permitted if they are friendly and are trained well enough to listen and stay at your site. Again, they must stay at your site unless walking with you on a leash. If your dog inflicts damage to the sites (digging holes, chewing up piles of sticks, chewing up toys to bits etc. please clean up after your dogs. We will provide shovels, rakes if you need!) - OVERLANDERS: You can bring your overland camper if you want, but you must park your vehicle in the parking spot across from your site at sites 1-3. It is a safety issue to block the entryway/exit lane. There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive. Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing. Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support! My father tells stories of it being filled with guests all summer long! Over the years there was few upgrades and now it's in need of a facelift. We will continue to renovate in phases it's been a labor of love, but you can still see the beauty of this rural location and enjoy the peace and quiet. Hope you enjoy your stay. Lots of trees, shade and nature. It's located near New Germany State Park, 1.5 miles by car, less than a mile by foot. The state park has a lake and hiking trails. Garrett County has so much to offer, waterfalls, lakes, hiking, skiing, Amish gifts, history, fresh air, beautiful scenery. Peaceful camping with privacy on a 160-acre historic farm! Minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield and the C&O Canal to name a few. We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable. Please be aware that some may not have great cell service and as noted in the amenity section we do not have WiFi at any of the sites yet. It is something we are looking into for the future. If something is urgent you should be able to pick up WiFi near the tenant house and a password can be provided for you to try.

Taneytown, 1836, has an extraordinary antique store that is a delight to browse; as well as fine dining, drive through, an open air beer garden and close by grocery stores. Homemade ice cream is found at Baugher's and Hoffmans in Westminster. Baugher's Orchard has "pick your own" available. There is a mini farm animal petting zoo at the orchard.
