Beautiful property right on the popular Great Allegheny passage and the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad - only 13 miles from the Famous C&0 Canal Towpath/Bike trail. Ride the famous steam engine from Cumberland to Frostburg or ride a railbike on those same tracks with Tracks and Yaks - very fun and easy way to see 15 miles of beautiful countryside!! And of course, you can bike (with very easy access) the World-famous Great Allegheny Passage that runs from Pittsburg Pa to Cumberland Md then connects to the C&0 Canal all the way into D.C.! Property has 2 sites - Site 1 has 50 AMP Electric ( plus 110 plug ) / Water and Sewer Site 2 has 30 AMP Electric / Water and Sewer. No restroom available but there are septic hook ups for your RV. Perfect getaway for anyone but very convenient for bikers and hikers on the GAP . Located just 4 miles out of the cute town of Frostburg Md. Or a quick / beautiful 2 mile walk/ride into town on the Bike trail.

Chuck is an AWESOME host! He made sure to tell us several things about the area that we might enjoy doing before we even got there! As we travel to the area often, we had already done a lot of the things he mentioned, and since we were primarily there to visit family, we didn't have time to check out any of the other things. However, they are now on our list of things to do! He was even so kind as to let us upgrade to the 50 amp site even though we had only booked the 30 amp. Both sites are awesome, but the 50 amp is a little larger, so it's better for spreading out a little more. It was raining a good chunk of the weekend, and we were very grateful for the nicely packed gravel at each site - we have stayed at other places and ended up dealing with mud... We don't always bring the camper when we come to the area, but when we do, you can bet I'll be checking to see if this site is available before looking anywhere else!

Chuck’s property is a hidden gem — and I almost hate to say that publicly! If you’re planning to ride the GAP, this is the perfect base camp. The location couldn’t be more convenient, and we came away with miles of great riding and some truly memorable scenery. Chuck is an exceptional host — knowledgeable about local landmarks and trails, quick to respond, and full of great recommendations. We’ll definitely be back.

Quiet and relaxing hillside stop

Serenity! Easy drive up the hill to the two campsites, one with 50 amp and the other with 30. From the 30 we looked over a small ravine to active wildlife: groundhog, raccoon, skunk, chipmunk and a squirrel, all peacefully coexisting. We had rain, so no sunrise or sunset, but surely they're quite wonderful. We noticed some deep tire ruts in the grass, probably from a very big rig with an inexperienced driver. For most the turnaround would be fairly easy. We loved the excellent directions and solitude.

On the way home from a 6 week road trip and needed a stopover halfway in between Lexington KY and Long Island, NY. Electric was our only need as overnight temps were going down to low 30s ( and snow in forecast). I looked into public and private campgrounds in area but everything closed for season. I came across Chuck’s camp on Hipcamp. It was perfect- exactly what we were looking for. Chuck was very happy to help answer all my questions. I wish it was warmer out and that we could have spent more time in the area as there is SO much to explore. We definitely would choose Chuck’s camp again! We can’t thank Chuck enough!

The gravel site was perfect and has great mountain views. Great location to Frostburg/Cumberland. The host was very friendly and great at giving lots of advice on things to do in the area.

Quiet and secluded. Easy directions (but be aware of limited bridge access if pulling a bigger rig) getting there during daylight hours is best
