Update for late May-June: The river level has dropped nicely, and it is officially swimming season!!! Also, the first fireflies have been spotted and within a week or two their numbers at camp in the evenings will be Biblical. A few details about our sites in the general camping area (sites 1-11): Sites 1, 3, 8,9,10&11 have 13x20 shade sails, 2,4,5,6&7 have 10x13 shade sails that are also weatherproof. For larger groups, I recommend any of the sites with the larger shade sails as they have a bit more space than the others. Experience the beauty of this historic property featuring a mix of woodland, grassy hilltops, and clover filled bottomlands. Enjoy the nearly direct access to the CO Canal Historic Park and the kid friendly, serene stretch of the Potomac River we border. Choose from 11 similar sites available for your camping pleasure in our clover filled bottomland as well as our Hilltop sites for maximum privacy, exclusivity and star gazing potential. The surrounding old growth forest makes for a great hiking and biking as well as a very accessible and kid friendly cave to explore. All sites now have either 10x13 or 13x20 shade sails available to keep the afternoon sun at bay: recommended. We have two kayaks on site free of charge. We have some life vests, but if you have your own, bring those along. The river's main beach located between sites 7 and 8, is shaded/filtered sun all day long while our smaller beach at site 1 is sunny most of the day and affords some of the nicest river lounging via a rock ledge that spans 4wd or All Wheel Drive are recommended. If it's been relatively dry, single wheel cars are 100% fine. We have ways to mitigate most weather events. Please pre-order firewood and/or shade sails via a message to me when booking your stay and save the 18% "booking fee" or add them via the "extras" section for your site so I can have it waiting for you. $40 buys you a long night's ++ burn worth of well-seasoned hardwood. The campground is situated in the wooded area on the back of 27 acre horse farm which is known as "The Stables at Mezza Luna." There is Wi-Fi to all the sites. Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples." Who knows, you might get to meet a future Kentucky Derby winner. There also is a playground with swings, monkey bars, seesaw and trampoline. There is a dumpster in front of the barn for you to place your trash. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. First listing actually has several options. For large campers/coach/fifth wheelers the area by the tractor shed will be the best. Around the corner there's two other choices both with firepits which will accommodate units up to 40 feet depending on your backing/maneuvering skills. Field of Dreams and Sycamore Ridge will accommodate campers under 25 feet with some backing/maneuvering skills. For those with 4WD and an off-road camper/trailer/tent choose Off the Grid, two entrances for easy access, travel along a logging road to an open site with fire pit. Suitable during dry conditions and not responsible for damage to vehicle or camper. Great spot for those who truly want to be in the woods off the beaten path, site takes about 5 minutes to reach due to low-speed access.

Nathan & his family welcomed us to their farm. The spot included electrical hook up, a fire pit & firewood. The farm is beautiful! Make sure to visit the distillery. Nathan will teach you a little about their family business. I walked up to the onsite cemetery. The view from up there was stunning. Hope to get to stay with Nathan & his family again in the future. Incredible views and total tranquility! We stayed in Site #4, which had a perfect, unobstructed view of the sunsets. It’s a great area to explore with a restaurant and tiki bar just down the road. Note: Site #4 is not full hookup—it has sewer access but not a dedicated port like Sites 1-3. We'll definitely stay here again!

Beautiful and peaceful grounds. Minimal amenities which were sufficient for our 3-night stay. The goats and chickens (and the duck who thinks it’s a chicken) are an adorable bonus! I didn’t realize there’s no dump station on site, but in hindsight it’s obviously not in the Hipcamp description. We arrived with a full tank of freshwater in our class C so didn’t use the campground water.

1 night at Strawberry Crossroads

It was practically empty on Labor Day weekend, don’t know why because this spot is gorgeous. It’s quiet with a big open field — my ball crazy pup was in heaven too! My husband and I enjoyed the solitude and The time away and this place was perfect for both.

Weekend Trip to Strawberry Crossroads

Absolutely loved camping here and made some nice memories with friends and family over the Labor day weekend. The RV/campsites were located conveniently spaced out and with a nice open view. All other facilities were adequate and conveniently located and host TJ was super responsive and helpful all the time. Highly recommend to all, especially for family with kids.

It was a lovely site right on the marina. It was fun to watch boats come and go. The only negative thing about the site is that there’s a marina light that stays on all night — spot 3 is right in the path.

The location was fun and everything provided as described. Our family had a wonderful time and enjoyed the unique camping experience.
