Rohrersville Roost
Had a lovely time at West's land. My girlfriend and I had a great time with a roaring fire in the firepit and the picnic table was convenient. SUPER close to the Big Cork Winery which we visited that afternoon before attending and heard great live music. I would definitely return to Rohrersville Roost.

Hill-top, quiet, lots of grass!
Great spot! Quiet at night, lots of space, & fun to see animals running around. Close enough to town to be convenient but not too close. Highly recommended!

And they supply firewood, firepit, and starter sticks and paper. Nice!

Rohrersville Roost
This place is great. Quiet little campsite at the back of a working farm. Not crazy secluded but good for the area, and the sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys and (most of all) emus are SO cool. Wes is very friendly and happy to give a tour, but not intrusive at all. Big Cork winery nearby beats expectations and is a great post-hike, pre-campfire stop.

This was our first Hipcamp experience and we loved it. Beautiful and serene and west had a fire built. fun waking up to sheep sleeping in the grass and love seeing all of his collection of animals. Very close to Antietam battlefield so perfect for us. Thank you West!

We arrived late at night to a beautiful starry night sky and horses neighing. Sara left us the fresh-farm eggs we ordered for us on the picnic table. It was so delicious for breakfast. We can see the host's house from the campsite but felt private. The compost bathroom was very clean. It was wonderful to wake up to the beautiful view of the mountain range in the distance and the horses. She greeted us with her sweet dogs in the morning and was very helpful when filling up our campervan's tank. We'd love to stay here again.

Easy breezy, animal and sunset view
Easy approach to campsite with a nice shaded area to park our 23’ shuttle bus. The goats were very friendly and interested in saying hello, and we also enjoyed visiting with the chickens from the driveway. We only saw West on our way out and he was very friendly and made sure we had a good visit. Fire ring was very nice and the picnic table very convenient. Simple, easy set up with a beautiful view of the sunset.

Camper van with senior dog
Amazing spot! Very accommodating as we didn’t arrive until very late on a trip from FL to MA. Great communication and a beautiful, peaceful spot. My senior dog loved the isolation and new place to sniff around! Will stay here again.

Nice site in a small grove of trees, easy to level. Greeted by chickens and doves as we came in. Site was private, away from the residence. Host was friendly.
Location nice for visiting Harper's Ferry, Gettysburg, areas.
It was quiet and peaceful at night except for some owl calls and night hawk calls. And the view of the super moon was spectacular.

Camping with the animals!
What a joy this place was for our three kids. There was a fire set to go and more wood waiting. Beautiful views and ALL THE ANIMALS. We got a tour of them all and even pet a few of them. Great stay for a night while we traveled NY to NC.

West was a great host and very polite. If you're looking for a secluded getaway, this is your place.
There are a vast amount of animals on his land, but they never came up to the camp site.
Expect to hear cows mooing in the distance overnight. Lol. You'll be in farmland.
Cell service is not great but you can get a message out if you need to.

Pleasant and quiet spot not far from Harper's Ferry. The birds were a bit noisy but I think that was because of the 4th of July fireworks. The fire was a really nice touch!!

Camping with the Birds
The roost was such a lovely campsite! Nested on top of a hill with clear views of the East and West so you get both a amazing sunrise and sunset. The Appalachian Trail is just a few minutes up the road and the small town nearby offers local produce, homemade ice cream, and gifts. West was a very welcoming host and introduced me to all his farm animals to include baby goats! The site was also very dog friendly with plenty of space for Fido to roam.

Hilltop h(e)aven.
Pretty hilltop field, quiet, rural and away from roads and road noise and lights. West apparently keeps quite a collection of birds at their house, regretfully i was on the move and could not visit them. Very good communication. I’ll stay there again if I’m passing that way. Nice, real folks.

Had a great time! West was very accommodating, had great recommendations of things to do, was responsive and very kind to show us around the farm! Camp is private, tucked away in a very serene and beautiful spot! As animal lovers we enjoyed getting to see all the farm animals and pet the sheep. Would definitely recommend!

A perfect experience. West was kind and welcoming (as well as all his farm animals), the area was clean and private, and a nice table and fire pit won’t with logs for the pit was included. You couldn’t ask for anything better. The area is elevated so there were no bugs and a nice breeze enveloped us throughout our stay.

Wonderful as always!!! My dog was so happy to walk with me out in the big field. Fire ready to start again when we arrived. Such a beautiful and peaceful place. My host is very welcoming and always has the most delicious eggs to take home. My dog and I can't wait to go back!!!

Fresh eggs and a great host!
West was a great host. The location was perfect and close to one of our favorite wineries, Big Cork. We were able to park our 26 foot RV at the top of the hill. There was a fire pit and picnic table. The fire pit was already stacked with wood for the evening which is very thoughtful. Got to see a lot birds (chickens, turkeys, ducks, etc.). We left with 2 dozen of fresh eggs. We will definitely come back and stay there In the future.

Beautiful scenery out on a cute poultry farm! West was very friendly and helpful when I arrived and even though I was only there for a short trip the site was accomodating and I enjoyed the area a lot! You're close to a lot of attractions/hiking/parks and the cell service was pretty good at the site since it's at the top of the hill.

My new Happy place
I had a wonderful time. West had the fire laid out in the fire pit. All I had to do is strike a match!!! Such a welcoming touch. After the fire started, I just sat next to it and relaxed. I can get used to being spoiled like that! West keeps the area well mowed no tracking through knee deep grass. The farm is so close to Harpers Ferry for tubing and canoing, that when I return in July will try that with my new dog. And my dog will be in heaven with the large pasture to roam in. I have found my happy place at Rohrersville Roost. I can't wait to go back. Thanks so much for being the best host, and his eggs for sale are great!!!

Friendly Farm with Emus
We had a beautiful stay at Rohersville Roost! My kids loved all the animals- chickens, roosters, turkeys, goats and especially the emus! None of us had ever seen an emu before! The drive was very scenic and the land was spacious. West was so hospitable he even had a campfire set up for us ready-to-go when we arrived. We requested contactless check-in due to a medically fragile family member and West was very accommodating, even though he is so friendly that I'm sure that is not his preferred way to greet his guests. West sent us home with some delicious farm fresh eggs! So grateful for a lovely day out of the city.

Absolutely wonderful
West was absolutely the best of hosts, helped in so many ways especially with directions to the various spots you need to experience while at his farm.
West has the most beautiful chickens and took time to discuss what breeds they were and also his breeding business. The eggs that I purchased are delicious. My family and I have been enjoying them everyday. His farm is situated where you catch all the breezes, quite and peaceful. I cannot wait to go back again. I wish I had taken pictures of the pastures and chickens because they are so beautiful. The Rohrersville Roost needs to become one of your favorites, it is for me.
