HORSES WELCOME! Why not run your horse on the beach, then come to our campsites to relax for the rest of your day. There is a fenced pasture positioned next to the sites so you can see your faithful friend enjoying some grass or hay. We have a new Zinger 29' trailer set up with a bunk room and another bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom. It can easily sleep six people. If you have your own RV, we have a full hook up at the same area. The pasture where your horse stays will also have hay, water and shelter with a run-in. This is a sanctuary for our animals. We have nine animals here, four horses (some minnies) and five donkeys (some minnies). By staying here, you will be helping us to support our animals. We are in Frankford, De which is close to all the beaches and parks. There are many shopping adventures awaiting you, either outlets or upcycle stores. If you just want to relax, there is a small pond out back stocked with bass and turtles. We have 17+ acres but we only use the front five acres and leave the rest for the deer, foxes, eagles, hawks and whatever else shows up. Camp in a backyard in a quiet area with a barn and horses nearby. Site 1 has water hookup and a 30 amp and 110 outlet available. Site 2 has water access and a 110 outlet available. Site 3 is for tent camping only and is more secluded. It does have water access available. These sites are a great spot to watch the sunset or watch the stars at night. These all are self contained camping spots. I do have two very friendly dogs that will most likely come say hi to you. Dewey Beer is 1 mile away in Harbeson. Lewes beach is only about 10 minutes away and Rehoboth beach is about 20 minutes away. Sports at the beach is only 5 miles away. Tanger outlets is 8 miles away. Delaware Turf sports complex is 24 miles. There are many great restaurants and shopping nearby. You can also bring your bikes and ride the bike trail from our lane to Lewes or Rehoboth! The speed limit on our road is 35 mph. Both sites are set back from the road with plenty of trees providing a natural buffer. Traffic is generally limited to daytime and rush hours, and nights are typically very quiet.
Please check yourself for ticks daily. Before parking, look up to ensure you are not beneath a loose tree limb. We experienced a blizzard this past winter, and although no dead branches are directly above the campsites, please use caution when parking or walking beneath trees.
A short drive brings you to beaches, restaurants, shopping, fishing, kayaking, miniature golf, a drive-in movie theater, wildlife preserves, nature trails, canals, arcades, ice cream, bowling, fresh seafood, outlet shopping, and more!

Weekend Trip to Adventures Await Retreat & Meadery
What a fun weekend! The campground was clean and quiet. Our site had a picnic table that was shaded, large fire ring, full hook ups, and was a pull through. The kiddos loved feeding the animals, playing mini golf, swimming in the beautiful indoor salt pool, biking, hiking the clearly marked and cleared trails, playing on the shaded playground, and fishing. The kiddos caught several large bass and catfish. They also have a beautiful indoor koi pond. The store has a large selection of their meads. We enjoyed root beer, elderberry jalapeno, and elderberry lime. We also got elder elixer and elderberry soap. Our pup enjoyed the trails and the large dog park. The owner and staff were knowledgeable and so welcoming.

That's exactly what we did! And we had a great weekend! This was our 2nd visit to Why Not Acres and we hope to return again!
We brought 2 horses. There is a great paddock right near the RV sites and tent sites...fenced with a run in shed. We felt totally comfortable with the horses being safe and no risk of running away.
Assateague is only 35 minutes away, so we were able to go for the day and ride the beach and then come back for a nice campfire, dinner and relax!
Or you can ride on the property. They have trails in the woods and a good space for the horses (or the people) to stretch their legs without leaving.
Marian and Mike are such great hosts. They are wonderful people who care very much about their property, the animals in their care and of course about the experience of their visitors! Thank you so much for making our stay great!
This is an outstanding camping or RV option if you're looking for something in this area.
We really do look forward to our next visit.

This camp is a very quiet rural location (45 minutes to Lewes and Cape May Ferry) and has a great list of amenities. The camp hosts are welcoming and very helpful. Shout-out to Dave for assisting us on arrival. The animals are cool and mostly friendly. The pool looked nice as did the meadery- didn't have time to try these. The nature walk was really nice and easy to follow. Now to the sites themselves - if you're looking at a full hook-up site, you will need to bring plenty of waste line and water line as the utility layout is challenging. Our recommendation is to call ahead and ask about site layout. Upon departure we ended up dumping our full grey and black tanks at Killen Pond State Park about 9 miles away. For those with 30-Amp rigs, do have a 50-amp converter in your electric box for flexibility in site selection. Overall, a nice long weekend stay with friendly hosts.

It was a peaceful and relaxing place tucked back in the woods. When I needed help and then some wood, the service was extremely prompt. The showers were hot. It was everything I was looking for to stay for a quick night traveling south. Thank you.

Was everything we expected it to be. Site was nice and flat restrooms were clean and well maintained. The goats came to visit the first day we were set up they hung out for a few and went on their way. It was late in the season so activity was minimal which worked out well for us.
