I loved this place 100% we had an amazing time with no issues. The directions were clear on how to arrive and we brought a camaro so the path was accessible. Our neighbors were so lovely but not intrusive of personal space i loved meeting them. The spot was beautiful with a beautiful view. The lake was about 2-4 feet deep but the current was super strong so floaties and life jackets are needed for young kids. Overall, it was a beautiful experience and a spot I will definitely be returning to.

3 nights at Stoney Creek Campground

We loved camping at this site! Andrey was the perfect host, he had our requested items (tubes and firewood) waiting at the site and he popped over to introduce himself. Andrey was very knowledgeable of the river and the surrounding areas. The bathhouse was clean and well stocked; the private bathrooms was a nice touch! The picnic tables and fire ring were in great condition. I also recommend booking a tube float through Andrey which was well organized and the tube float ended at our campsite (Bridge) - you couldn’t plan it better! The camp ground also had a playground, ping pong table and nice common areas. Will def return and happy to recommend!

1 night at Cosey Cabin

Such a sweet little getaway! It’s clear time and care have been put into this cabin. It feels like a little private oasis even though you’re not that far from others. The bed is nice and firm and comfy. Chris was great and made sure I knew where I was going even though I got in late. The drive in is a little bumpy so if you have a low riding car you may want to park and walk in but I drove in no problem. I definitely recommend staying here!

Had a wonderful time at Jim’s place. 4 nights spent and would certainly come back for more. Feels very private for the most part and has a wonderful stream close by for the dogs to have fun. Also not to jinx it for the future but, we didn’t find a single tick on ourselves or the dogs… however we did find a black bear!

Eric and Vicki are exceptional hosts. They met us on arrival and showed us all amenities. The full hookup site is perfectly level, clean and easily accessible. A 50 foot hose works for fresh water. There’s a fire pit. There’s also a picnic table under a roof with a fan and lights. We’ll be back!

Weekend Trip to Locust Post Brewery Camp

This is our third year coming to Locust Post, we love it so much we keep bringing more friends every year! The campsite is the perfect distance from the brewery but offers a good amount of privacy. The camping area is quiet and shaded well. They have a disc golf course on the grounds which is pretty awesome. Very nice bathroom and shower accommodations for campers too. The brewery is fantastic - their beer is delicious and the vibe is so fun. We always enjoy the live music and scenic views during our stay. Trust us! Book a campsite stay, you won’t be disappointed.

If you are thinking about staying at Paradise by the Pond, just do it. It was a camping experience unlike any I’ve had before, largely due to the beautiful scenery. Yvonne was quick to respond with information on how to get to the pond and the campsite also had 2 tables for use, and a pile of wood to get you started. We will most definitely be coming back.

Weekend Trip to The Trailhouse @ Fifteen Mile Creek

The grounds were impeccably maintained so we could walk right onto the property and start our vacation. Easy access to a refrigerator and bathroom, but we made the most of the beautiful outdoors near the tent and around the campfire, which was all set up for us! At night 1000 fireflies and stars lit up the sky, and we could still enjoy the view of the fireflies from the comfy bed in the bug-free tent.

The Byrd's Nest on the River

The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. Cosey Cabin

This is a 160 square foot tiny house/cabin in a small wooded area at the rear of my 2 acre property. A separate 90 square foot bath house is also provided. Both are primitive, ie, no electric or running water. The are some solar lights and candles for nighttime. Enjoy laying in the hammocks with a nice camp fire in the evening. The house is heated with a small wood stove but there is no air conditioning. Cook either on the wood stove or over the fire outside. In the summertime it is nice and private with the surrounding vegetation Please keep in mind. This is a primitive setting in the woods. It will be hot in the summer and temperature must be maintained in the winter with the wood stove or Buddy Heater. While I do spray for bugs to the best of my ability, there is a good chance you will encounter at least a few. We are in a residential country setting, so you may experience other wildlife as well. In the summertime while the foliage is up it is quite private, although you can still hear the neighbors. In the winter you will be able to see the neighbors as the trees are bare.

Sleepy Hollow Campground

This property and farm has been in our family for 3 generations. In 1964 my grandfather started the campground due to limited camping at New Germany. My father tells stories of it being filled with guests all summer long! Over the years there was few upgrades and now it's in need of a facelift. Landscaping, electric upgrades and bathhouse remodels were completed Spring 2021. We will continue to renovate in phases it's been a labor of love, but you can still see the beauty of this rural location and enjoy the peace and quiet. Hope you enjoy your stay. Lots of trees, shade and nature. It's located near New Germany State Park, 1.5 miles by car, less than a mile by foot. The state park has a lake and hiking trails. Garrett County has so much to offer, waterfalls, lakes, hiking, skiing, Amish gifts, history, fresh air, beautiful scenery. The campground was first started in 1964 by my grandparents, we are currently completing renovations in phases.

Ferns in the Forest

Learn more about this land: This wooded area is 5 miles away from the Ohiopyle State Park whitewater launch area and GAP bike trail. We are less than 9 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Classic Fallingwater and about 8 miles from Kentuck Knob one of the last resident homes he designed (both are open for tours). Fort Necessity National Battlefield is 5 miles away. There are numerous native trout streams in the area. Youghiogheny Reservoir is 7 miles away for fishing, boat rentals, and water-sports. The Fern House is the primary camp cabin on the property. Although if someone would want to park a "self contained" camper or small RV on the property we would permit the unit to occupy the area in front of the driveway just pass the entrance gate. It is not within the ferns and is next to the road. There is an electrical outlet available at this small RV or van camper site. We are "nice pet" friendly. We have a mountain spring (when the spring is running) up the trail road (450 feet away). The ferns will normally be in full glory by the end of May to the beginning of October and are amazing, covering the forest floor. Deer, bear, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, squirrels and many woodland birds abound the property especially owls. A picnic table, fire ring and firewood is available on the property. Free WiFi on the property as long as the plant life is not too thick! There is a mile hiking loop right on the property and many challenging trails in the area, including the starting point for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail.
