We currently offer one cottage, glamping and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm!
Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours.
The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries.

About the property
Located on a 66-acre plot just five miles from the Shenandoah River, our property offers amazing access to hiking and the outdoors while also keeping civilization within striking distance. Bear Chase Brewery is just a half mile walk across the street, and we are 15 miles from Purcellville.
The land and lodge used to be the summer home of a trained opera singer, whose singing could be heard throughout the mountain.
Your Host lives onsite in the stone house that also acts as a hostel for hikers on the Appalachian Trail. Built in the 1930's all from locally sourced hand-hammered stone, the house is open every night from 5pm - 9pm.
Note that we offer several campsites relatively close to each other, so you should expect to see and hear other campers on the property during your stay.
About the listing
Pitch your tent in a forested area just a short walk up from where you’ll park your car. Enjoy unbeatable proximity to hiking and panoramic views while still having basic amenities that ensure a comfortable stay.
You’ll have access to a composting pit toilet, and can access potable water from the tap in the lodge. That’s also where you can access hot showers. As noted above, we host Appalachian Trail thru hikers on the property, so you may see them hanging around or sleeping in the bunkhouse near the shared facilities. so please be respectful of hours when you come in for a shower.

For meals, we have picnic tables, and you are encouraged to cook over the fire pits that accompany each site. Please practice Leave No Trace practices during your stay, as the property has raccoons and other critters who will be drawn to any food scraps that are left behind.

Watching them fish, catch and release beautiful rainbow and brook trout can be a relaxing, enjoyable experience.
The oral history of Coal Mine Hollow has it that a moonshine still once graced the banks of Camp Cedar Creek. It was run by a recluse, who was always on the move from the Revenuers. A revenuer went missing along Cedar Creek one moonlit night, never to be seen again.
The bearded recluse who ran the still, owned two mules, and an old car frame without a motor. Those mules would pull him through the hollow, and up into the mountains, where the revenuers never found him. Some say on a cold, moonlit night, they’ve seen his two old mules, pulling an old car frame past Camp Cedar Creek.

We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed.
You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well.
We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest.
Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

Hello! We're a new working farm located on 45 acres adjacent to the Rhappahannock River. We have a small flock of free range chickens, plus a few goats, ducks, and pigs. There are a few rugged camping spots, and hiking along the creek down to the river. There's a portapotty on site and rainwater available for now (showers and water access coming soon!). Please pack out what you pack in. There are stores within 15 minutes if you need supplies.
Please keep your animals on a leash within the ranching and adjacent areas, out in the woods is OK.

We loved this campground! Tubing in the creek was a highlight for our kids (4 & 6), and the creek views with coffee by the fire was ours :) very peaceful and loved knowing other people were there, but couldn’t hear anyone from other sites!

Easy access and peaceful. Campsites on Apple iMaps do not align with HipCamp maps so best to locate via HipCamp mapping. Nearby privy was overtaken by nature.

Absolutely adorable! Highly recommend. Camping in a pasture and waking up to animals is heaven. There are horses, baby cows, sheep, alpacas, and a large area with lots of goats, including babies!! They visited me a few times throughout my stay. They also have a few secluded (private) spots. There is a solar shower with hot water. There is a community fire pit w/ a grate for cooking and a few games. They also had a portable pit that I used to have a fire next to my tent .
I signed up to help feed the animals. Such a great time! Had all the horses lining up to get brushed and they welcomed all my kisses. The animals are SO friendly and sweet!!! The owners were very sweet and made sure I had everything I needed.
There are so many things to do around that area as well. They have tubes and kayaks for rent. Walmart in like 20 minutes away and there are other stores that are within 10 minutes.

I stayed two nights and the entire experience was beyond my wildest dreams.
I am a tent camper so I stayed at one of the six sites in the pasture. There are several horses, alpacas, sheep, cows, an donkey, and goats that roam in the mornings and evenings. They were all friendly and greeted me with great enthusiasm. There are also other animals including ducks and chickens.
I opted for two add-ons - feeding the farm animals and kayaking on the Shenandoah River about a mile away. Stacey’s daughter, “A”, patiently explained what we fed and why and was a super patient teacher willing to answer any question I could throw at her. They were also extremely accommodating when I couldn’t lift the kayak solo onto my Jeep, helping make sure I made it down to the river and back. I saw lots of birds, fish, turtles, tadpoles, dragonflies, and butterflies on the river.
Back to the site - there is a portapotty as well as a camp shower with hot water. Bring your own towel and soap (duh!) but that does wonders to make you feel more civilized. There is also a communal fire pit outside of the pasture including a grill grate and tongs - perfect for hanging out before you’re ready to get into your tent.
I will definitely be back again soon!

What a site!! Graham obviously thought through every detail of his sites - even down to directional signage on the property to help you find your way. The property itself has rolling fields (soy when we were there) and the sites are very private. With the foliage, we weren’t able to see our “neighbors” and could barely hear them throughout the day. The site has two well maintained tables, a gorgeous and generous custom metal fire pit, easy access to firewood, and the perfect sand pad for tent set up. The site also had access down to the river which appeared to have been intentionally built up for campers to enjoy - our pups were happy for a dip in the heat of the day (and so was I!) the rock face on the opposite side of the river was a gorgeous back drop and golden hour was something else coming through all of the trees. We got to enjoy a lot of wildlife - tons of frogs and butterflies, spotted some great birds, got to watch cool fish (we didn’t cast, just enjoyed), and more. Appreciate the obvious work that has gone into the site and property - hoping to make it back!

Nice little spot in the country of Virginia. Greg was very helpful in finding the campsite & even pulled me out of the mud when my car got stuck! Much appreciated! An extremely beautiful view of the stars as well away from all light pollution.
