Welcome to our small Farm and Inn, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm. Enjoy an evening under the stars with fireflies and a campfire after a long day hike, fly fishing on one of our beautiful trout steams or touring the local vineyards and breweries. We currently offer one cottage and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway therefore can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm! Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours. The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries. A few offerings on the farm. Tasting in the 1850s Chestnut log cabin, tubing trips, breakfast and picnic lunches, Animal experiences and Yoga. Please inquire about renting the property for private small events.

Fiddlehead Camp near SNP

Pefect site for true camping!

If West Virginia is almost heaven, you've arrived once you find Landon Farms! Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our littles (ages 10, 8, 6, 4) loved the added bonus of animal cuddles. The description is exactly as we found the site. We were pleasantly surprised to find non potable water, a makeshift outhouse and cooking supplies at the site as well. Be sure to sign up for porter services if you're carrying a lot. It's a hike into the site; but the seclusion is worth the hike! We found Jennifer's suggestions/insight to be extremely helpful and appreciated the full rundown of best hikes, etc in Shenandoah. We had no cell service for much of our stay, so be sure to plan ahead and know where you're going before you arrive. You don't really pick up service after leaving the farm, either so don't expect to do much "googling" of what to do/where to go!

Sawmill Cottage near Shenandoah NP

Spacious cottage, close to Old Rag

Jennifer has a beautiful, growing property, close to Shenandoah National Park (White Oak Canyon and Old Rag). We enjoyed visiting the farm where the campsites are located, meeting the animals and picking up local sausage, coffee and Jennifer’s eggs. Highly recommend! The cottage was perfectly clean and very comfortable and spacious. I was very grateful for the A/C which our host had running before we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped with a large refrigerator and freezer. There’s even a small laundry unit. Shower was hot, check in and parking was easy and the location was very convenient. We even enjoyed the collection of old DVDs 🙂. Jennifer shared some maps with tips on parking and short hikes to keep us out of the heat - thank you for the time and kindness! Heads up there is a short but steep grass walk (~8 strides) from the parking strip to the front steps.

Old Rag Weekend Adventure

We loved the property! We stayed the weekend and it was just what we needed! We hiked Old Rag mountain the camp was just 15 minutes from the trail head. The shower was perfect afterwards! The owner was lovely and her farm animals were adorable!

Gypsy Camp Near SNP

Odd but nice

It was lovely and matched the description. It was a steepish dirt road to get to the sites. Well maintained, private. I didn't realize that the solar shower it mentioned was a bag solar shower tacked to a phone pole on the top of a hill, in a open clearing of trees with a few of someone's truck. That was a bit odd but I was so grateful for a shower, I enjoyed it.

Wisteria Camp near SNP

Great spot near old rag

Pretty good spot 15 mins driving from Old rag. I came for the sole purpose of hiking that specific trail, so this was perfect. It had a table which was a nice bonus. Other than that pretty basic spot with plenty of room for parking and a tent and a fire
