The Guinea farm is 18 acres of field and forest on the rural middle peninsula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded dog friendly beaches and a boat launch. There is very little traffic or light pollution here, nature is at your fingertips. Come visit the farm and experience agritourism at it's finest. Pick your own veggies in the community garden and meet the Guinea fowl! Enjoy the wilderness and learn about the local ecosystem here on the middle peninsula. There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria Treehouse site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy Micro Cabinz is in the pines 700' beyond that and separated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an off grid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property. Each site is surrounded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large field. There are roaming guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack. There is an axe throwing board and cornhole boards available. 4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

Situated at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and bordering the Jefferson National Forest, Thunder BRidge has scenic, large, private tent sites and cabins in the woods for those who want to experience camping at its finest. Many of the sites border Elk Creek. Our RV sites are large, flat and at the edge of the forest in a well kept open green space. Our 100 acres was originally a camp built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the "30s and early '40s, then a boys' juvenile detention center and Big Brothers'/Big Sisters' camp, which closed in 2009. The tent sites and cabins are in the forest, away from the buildings out front, but you're free to walk around and check out the historic site. Most of the buildings out front are artist studios (currently for 16 artists). We like to share the camp with others and watch it come back to life. All within a short driving distance are the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, Devil's Marbleyard, Glenwood Horse Trail, swimming holes, etc. We have river access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or put your kayak or canoe in. Truly, there is something nearby for everyone. We'd be happy to give you recommendations of things to see and do. If you are a star gazer you won't be disappointed by our dark sky. We want to share our property with those who want to stay for more than one night, so we do not accept inquiries of single night stays. We are passionate about both the hemp and cannabis plants! We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

Weekend Trip to Earthwalk Ways Retreat

I had a nearby visit with friends that I took the opportunity to turn into a weekend retreat. Darlene was so nice and welcoming. I appreciate her letting me check in during the evening since I couldn't leave work early. She took the time to show me around the grounds the next morning and then left me to it. The room was cozy and had a nice set up for tea /coffee and any basic cooking you might do on a hot plate. I really enjoyed looking through some of the books in the room, my favorite was an anthology of wisdom and stories from grandmothers. I spent time by the creek and one morning saw 3 deer and a buck wandering across. Also really loved the spa set up. 10/10 I left feeling grounded and will definitely be back the next time I find myself in the area.

My husband and I love camping here. This was our second time to their property. It's quiet and relaxing even if all the sites are full. They are very welcoming and helpful. We will absolutely be back again!

Weekend Trip to Thunder BRidge

Loved Adam’s cabin. We saw some people walking by but other than that really private and did not hear anyone camping around us. Very spacious and lots of seating areas inside and out. Loved the back porch with the swing. Definitely would come back again.

The area was very relaxing and quiet. The Yurts was clean and comfortable. Annette answers questions quickly. The only thing complaint I have is the smell of the shower water. It smells like sewer water.

3 nights at The Guinea Farm, Field, and Forest

Incredible place to stay, rained everyday we were there and still managed to keep 2 young kids entertained. Ian was incredibly helpful, woke up with a flat my first day and he was willing to do whatever to help. Haven beach is the perfect spot only a couple minute drive away. Even with the treehouse, WiFi, and projector my kids favorite part was getting to see and hold Ian’s chickens. Grateful of my time here would love to come back.

We stayed in the dancing wolf yurt for just one evening while passing thru. It was a wonderful, comfortable stay! Even thru the big rain storm which was pretty neat inside the yurt. Would stay again!

Such a peaceful getaway! Beau's property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Swimming in the falls and then a quick walk to our stay was great. The cave was also a neat hike and each site has a grill and picnic table. I'd highly recommend and plan to return with my family.

1 night at Beaverdam Falls

We loved tent camping at the Cattails! It was such a perfect weekend for my friends and I, we saw the most amazing stars and even a shooting star. It couldn't have been more magical, it was exactly the little getaway we needed. I was able to bring along my dogs, and they were so happy too. The campsite had everything we needed and even more, we will be back again soon for another little getaway.

3 nights at Beaverdam Falls

Fabulous getaway to Beaverdam Falls! The tent was very well stocked, the view incredible and fireflies and stars- magical! We loved swimming in the falls, relaxing, and exploring the preserve. My kids are already asking when we can go back. I would recommend bringing life jackets for children to wear in the water, as the rocks are a bit uneven and it is a bit deep in some parts. We can’t wait to return!

Had a great time with my kids at the stargazer mini cabin. I used to be an avid tent camper before kids and this has a nice blend of being outdoors while still having your basic amenities. I only stayed one night but we were able to enjoy all the classics like hotdogs and s’mores over an open fire but then could go inside and watch a movie on the projector. Took a peak at the other sites as well and may try to come back this fall. Also the host was great, simple instructions and very responsive.

I loved all of the farm, from the river walking to the trails. It was such a beautiful time. Would recommend it to anybody. Amy is the most pleasant person who welcomed me since the beginning.

Woodpecker 1 was absolutely beautiful! It was close to the creek and we even hunted down one of the swimming holes! It’s also a very easy walk to the bath house and the bathrooms were well kept and clean.
