The Guinea farm is 18 acres of field and forest on the rural middle peninsula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded dog friendly beaches and a boat launch. There is very little traffic or light pollution here, nature is at your fingertips. Come visit the farm and experience agritourism at it's finest. Pick your own veggies in the community garden and meet the Guinea fowl! Enjoy the wilderness and learn about the local ecosystem here on the middle peninsula. There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria Treehouse site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy Micro Cabinz is in the pines 700' beyond that and separated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an off grid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property. Each site is surrounded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large field. There are roaming guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack. There are free to use bicycles, an axe throwing board, and cornhole boards available. 4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

A small, shed cottage turned into a room with a full-sized bed and mini fridge with a microwave, toaster, and coffee machine, a table with chairs to eat at. Ac for the summer and a heater for the cooler days. I am still adding on and bringing new things to the cottage. I will have complimentary drinks and snacks on your arrival. Portions of the historic Three Chopt Trail, a Native American trail, run through a large portion of the county. The trail was marked by three hatchet chops in trees to show the way. The modern-day U.S. Route 250 roughly follows this route from Richmond to Charlottesville. Learn more about this land: In the heartland of Goochland where you can see deer from far and wide. Come pitch a tent in this gorgeous three acres of lush green Forestry surrounded and nature. Start your day listening to birds chirping, with the smell of fresh Virginia Air. Whisper Creek was founded in 1999. It has been the gathering place for many great friends and camping adventures. WC can hardly be camping, more like Glamping! This is a very private and quiet location. You can settle in knowing that this listing includes a covered picnic area. Which has counter space for food prep and cooking that includes a small sink. But remember, it’s camping so you’ll need to come prepared with a camp stove for cooking, although I do have charcoal and propane grill’s at the picnic area. Fire pit for awesome evening camp fires with free split firewood on hand. All I ask is that you burn it like you split and stacked it. You can gather and relax under the covered picnic area for dinner preparation and/or lounging. We are located within an hour from Wintergreen, numerous wineries, craft beer locations and numerous hiking destinations. Harmony Hut has fresh linens but please bring sleeping bags and/or sheets for the screened in bunkhouse. River access to the James River is a short drive to Howardsville. There you will also find a General Store which offers you the basics, such as Beer, Wine, Ice and a few grocery items. They make the best homemade sandwiches and grilled burgers. Direct river access can be provided via special request. I can also provide shuttling services. But this needs to be mentioned well before your stay as I don't live up there year around.

This was the perfect little get away! The house had all the necessities while still feeling like you are on a camping trip. Ian was extremely nice and helpful, and even let us meet his birds! The house is not far from two different beaches and there is a very nice lake to hike and fish at only 30 minutes away.

Great time!! Even had some rain and got to enjoy the clear roof! Felt very secluded and perfect for our dogs and cat! :) The outdoor shower was also surprisingly pleasant! :) would 100% go again. Great host! (Stairs were a bit steep so just be careful with pups, but we made it work.)

Trevor was such a cool guy! He came over after we got settled and made sure we were all set for our stay. The peace and serenity were such a treat for my boyfriend and I! We had an amazing 2 night stay at this beautiful cabin! The host,Trevor, was very nice and helpful! Hot tub, pizza oven and sauna were perfect! All the makings for our pizzas were there waiting for us which was a nice surprise! The property was clean, quiet, peaceful and very private! The cabin was really cute, very clean and well stocked for our 2 day trip! I highly recommend this property and this host for your next getaway! We absolutely loved our stay at this Hipcamp spot last week! It was the perfect retreat—so cute and cozy, and truly had all the amenities a weary traveler could possibly need. I was especially impressed by how conscientious and thoughtful the host was throughout our stay. For instance, the space was efficiently designed with plenty of hooks for hanging items, which is essential in a small space. We were also very grateful that she provided snacks and small bites to eat after our long drive, and she was incredibly communicative and fast at responding to any questions we had. As a pet owner, I was also appreciative that the space was pet-friendly, allowing my dog, Biscuit, to join us on the trip. I sincerely hope to stay again sometime soon, perhaps when the weather is a bit nicer! Highly recommend this wonderful spot.

Stargazer tiny cabin at the Guinea Farm was perfect for me and my pup. Ian was the perfect host and made us feel so welcome. Meeting the chickens and guineas was a lot of fun and the beach nearby was breathtaking. We explored the area, had a few campfires, and relaxed. Even the rainstorm was amazing while inside Stargazer!!! The cabin was super cool. We will be returning! Just a quick note that did not detract from the experience at all - we did encounter some hunting dogs loose at the beach hunting a deer. Its obviously hunting season and off the location, just good to note. We loved our trip here and valued meeting Ian and learning about his much loved birds, clearly living in paradise. Definitely worth a visit! The cabin itself was extremely clean and well stocked. The property was fun to explore, even has corn hole and axe throwing!

We had a wonderful stay at the Stargazer tiny cabin. It was incredibly cozy, warm and clean. The cabin had every amenity we needed, and Ian provided clear instructions for everything. He responded to all of our requests quickly and kindly, which made our stay even better. One of the highlights was looking up at the stars at night. It was absolutely fantastic! Aaron’s Beach and Haven Beach were only 3–5 minutes away, and we had the best time there with our dog. This was truly one of our best stays, and I strongly recommend Ian’s place. We will definitely be back!
