Many of the sites border Elk Creek. Our RV sites are large, flat and at the edge of the forest in a well kept open green space. Our 100 acres was originally a camp built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the "30s and early '40s, then a boys' juvenile detention center and Big Brothers'/Big Sisters' camp, which closed in 2009. The tent sites and cabins are in the forest, away from the buildings out front, but you're free to walk around and check out the historic site. Most of the buildings out front are artist studios (currently for 16 artists). We like to share the camp with others and watch it come back to life. All within a short driving distance are the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, Devil's Marbleyard, Glenwood Horse Trail, swimming holes, etc. We have river access 2 miles up the road if you'd like to fish or put your kayak or canoe in. Truly, there is something nearby for everyone. We'd be happy to give you recommendations of things to see and do. If you are a star gazer you won't be disappointed by our dark sky. We want to share our property with those who want to stay for more than one night, so we do not accept inquiries of single night stays. We also don't offer longterm rentals as we focus on short term camping.

There is a large white house at the far end of the property. The restroom for campers to use is located there. To one side of the driveway, on the way to the house there is a beautiful large swimming pond, complete with beach and gazebo. The property is unique in that you can hardly see another house from anywhere on the property and yet we are only 2 miles from Barracks Rd. Shopping Center, and 4 miles from the University of Virginia.

We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains with views all around and from our cabin rentals, our campground is close to the Luray Caverns, the famed Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, the Shenandoah River, and several Civil War sites. We offer both shady RV sites and open RV sites that can accommodate all sized RVs and trailers—we are big rig friendly! Each RV site includes a picnic table, fire ring, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and sewer. We have deluxe patio sites and deluxe tent sites too! Our campground is in the heart of all that Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley has to offer. Hiking opportunities abound as Luray is the closest town to the Thornton Gap entrance of Shenandoah National Park, and is to the Skyline Drive, taking drivers along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains! The Luray Caverns, a national historic site, with it’s famous Great Stalacpipe Organ, are just a few minutes away, and tubing, canoeing, and white-water rafting adventure can be found at the nearby Shenandoah River. Museums and Civil War sites will feed your history-loving soul! Onsite we have a brand-new camp store! We also have a large pool and small pool, a gathering yurt for groups and an event pavilion, a playground, and a jumping pillow is in the works! We have two deluxe cabins and four deluxe yurts for more ways to appreciate the great outdoors with those additional creature comforts.

Five stars for the ultimate mix of adventure and great energy! Hippie Hollow offers beautiful mountain weather close to downtown Floyd. Falling asleep to the sound of the creek and waterfall is unbeatable. The vibe here is completely relaxed, dog-friendly, and free of rigid rules. You can buy firewood on-site and just enjoy the mountains. Make sure to check their Facebook page before you go so you don't miss their awesome live music events!

Weekend Trip to Peace Hill Farm

Level parking for our van—and site 4 is very spacious and private. The ground is covered with sand and that makes it soft and easy. There are woods and shrubs all around and a long path for dog walking through the thick woods. We arrived super late and couldn’t enjoy the animals or other amenities, but found the site easily even in the dark, and loved the proximity to Williamsburg and the James River. We will absolutely return. This is a beautiful farm and a place we will enjoy exploring!

One of the possible camp sites at the main campground. This is in the middle of the loop in the road at the end. There are other sites on either side and a trailer situated just below. There is a primitive camp shower and compost toilet available for campers. Please make sure you get instructions before using. or you can also rent the trailer for the perfect larger gathering. This bathhouse capacity is for only a few people so for larger groups you need to rent trailer or supply duty bags until I can get a portapotty in.

Such a nice little retreat on a creek in Floyd. Super laid back, with a nice bathroom/shower. Cool stage for music, campfire space, and a great host! Sly was very accommodating and helpful parking my "new-to-me" pop up. We will 100% be back to visit very soon!

Each tent site was marked with a driveway and fire ring. Lots of flat grassy spots available for tenters. We have a bigger tent and chose a site against the field - we had plenty of room. It rained pretty heavily in the night but our site was fine- no puddles or flooding. Great, clear comms from the hosts which made check in easy. Bathhouse was nice and clean (but bring your own hand towel!). There’s a little path to the river, which was magical with all the fireflies. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic spot. It was raining when we were there, and our campsite had plenty of trees close enough to string up a tarp for extra protection. The kitchen is stocked with pretty much anything one could need. very quiet, pretty area! Tent site A had a nice view over a little clearing, extra nice.

We found Adam’s campground on Google Map and searched on how to book it. The process was easy and the review showed Woodpecker 3 was close to the bathhouse and had a cover over the picnic table. We also purchased a pack of wood that sufficient for our stay. We had a great experience and Adam was very responsive and stopped by to say hi. The facility is clean and quiet. Nice place to chill after a day of outdoor activities. Highly recommended.

Great location with a credible creek to lull you to sleep. Trailer was very comfy and clean. I really appreciated the fridge stove and dishes so you can easily cook for yourself. Sly was a great host and very responsive to any questions or concerns. Better than any hotel!
