The Meadow 7 - Open Meadow
Don’t expect much from staff
Camp site was amazing! Juan and Scott, two employees, were the most helpful people we encountered. The site was clean, mowed, easily accessible, and exactly as pictured. The majority of staff had a less than caring attitude towards us being there. For Memorial Day Weekend we wished they had put more thought into their offerings. Most menu items were unavailable at the “cafe” and they acted like it was a chore to “open” the store during advertised business hours so we could purchase souvenirs. We will visit again strictly for the geographical location but I won’t have the same expectations of any kind of hospitality or sense of how to treat guests. They really couldn’t have been bothered less about us being there. Everything was a chore to secure from wood, ice, to even our other campsite (which no one could show us to so we wasted $80 on a separate campsite while our friends stayed at ours in the meadows… but we couldn’t book the additional 2 people for the meadows on hipcamp). One of the staff, named Caroline, let her dog “Fenwick” run the camp site loose, he ate our food, peed on our tents, etc. when this was brought to the attention of what I assume was management they said “oh you must have dogs too”…. We didn’t bring them & did not plan on having to dog proof our site before walking to the toilets. Beautiful place, horribly negligent staff. MVP’s we’re Scott and Juan who went out of their way to assist us when everyone else ignored!

Communal Camping 36
Cute place
This was such a peaceful and beautiful spot along the creek. Some good hiking trails and activities directly from the camping area. Clean bathrooms and everything seemed well maintained. Overall great vibes and would stay again if in the area.

Communal Camping 30
Great campsite. They were super friendly and Scoot helped us to upgrade our site to a more private one. Either way the communal camping had enough space for privacy. We walked the trail and had an awesome time. We'll definitely coming back!

Communal Camping 28
Mixed Feelings
We arrived around 3pm on Friday, spoke to three different employees and no one could direct us to the “grove” for our reserved communal spot. We ended up not using it because of this and stayed with friends who booked a meadows camp. It would be nice to receive reimbursement for the camp spot we never used because staff were unable to take us to it. The camp’s landscape and grounds are gorgeous but the shops, cafe, and outpost were unorganized and frustrating to navigate. Several employees were present but none seemed to be actively working with exception of the kitchen. The food was great! For being Memorial Day weekend I expected more amenities to be accessible and we were told several times the signage and hours listed for the outpost and cafe were for last weekend’s events and did not apply to our weekend. The overall feeling was that the staff could care less we were there and we were not seen as anything other than a nuisance. The website does this place no justice and I hope they will update their listing to properly reflect their current campsites and layout.

The Meadow 10 - Open Meadow
We stayed at Meadow 10. All areas where clean. The bathrooms with showers with complimentary towels were wonderful. Great place to unplug. Plenty of space between sites. Loved the common areas. Didn’t realize how fun Bocce ball and horse shoes could be. Thanks for providing family friendly activities. Hiked the Outer Space Trail, it’s long but beautiful and peaceful. Adding the length of the trails to the maps and markers along the way would be helpful. The big open space by the Outpost could be used to draw campers together. Family Corn Hole or volleyball tournaments. We wish was that all the meadow sites had a fire ring with grate. Found you through HipCamp. We are looking to come back in the fall!

Cypress - (by the bathhouse)
Land was pretty and the family camping next to us was very friendly. It was very hard to find our campsite in the dark, the directions given with my reservation confirmation were incorrect and sent us lookin in the wrong direction. Everyone was respectful of quiet time and the kitchen smelled nice, though we didn’t have the chance to enjoy it.

Welcoming and lots to do
This campground is wonderful! The staff are very friendly and helpful. There’s so much to do within camp itself, plus it’s very close to a lot of access points to the National Forest. I want to come back to stay longer and enjoy more of what there is to do.

The Meadow 11 - Open Meadow
I was very pleasantly surprised with how nice the campground in the Meadow was maintained. We really enjoyed it and spent half the day in the creek across the street. The bathhouse was clean and better than expected. I would highly recommend staying here and plan to come back.

The Meadow 5
Loved the entire place. Meadow 5 is where my family stayed. The site was spacious and very well maintained. There were many trails to hike. The place is so big we didn’t even make a dent. The staff was wonderful. They were all engaging, asking how we were or if we needed anything. Unfortunately we missed the Bluegrass band that played while we were there but a heavy rain storm kept us away. I am already trying to get a trip going in the fall with the rest of my family. GREAT PLACE!!!

Loved the primitive camping at wilderness adventure! The Grove area was great nice shade to stay out of the sun. Loved that it was close to everything. Nice and quite, the staff was amazing. We had a blast doing the creek float, I can't wait to come back again!

The Grove - Communal Camping
This is a beautiful setting. Our camp site was very nice. It was mostly level and shady. Nestled in a small stand of cleared trees, it was perfect for us. A short walk will take you to Craigs Creek. There was a small beech to sit on, we didn't use it much because we were mostly in the water. It is an adventure camp, so there was a lot of activity around the main lodge which was far enough away that we hardly knew it was going on. There's free WiFi at the main lodge and also a little restaurant that serves really good food and offers free coffee in the morning! You can get ice and firewood at the camp store for a minimal fee. We're definitely gong back!

The Meadow 5
One of the best sites in the Meadows. Plenty of room for tent(s). Decent amount of tree coverage, not far from the port-a-potties. Very friendly staff. Some considerations if you want to stay here- there's no freshwater source in the Meadows- you have to get it from a spout near the Camp Store. Also there's no wash area for things like dishes. etc. There are sinks in the nice bathhouse, but they are not for washing dishes. Neither of these are problems per se, you just need to understand that so you can be prepared.

Sneaky Cabin - sleeps 8
Dog friendly cabin!
This was our second year staying at Wilderness Adventure. We chose to stay at the Sneaky Cabin as we had 3 dogs with us this time and wanted a bit more privacy than the main lodge. We loved that the Sneaky Cabin allowed us the option to cook our own food but that we could also head down to the outpost for meals on the weekend. The cabin was not far from other campers which we enjoyed, but others might not if you are looking for something more private. Wilderness Adventure is one of those places we hope to keep visiting year after year!

My husband and I loved how flat and open the campsite was! We were immediately greeted when we arrived and everything was within a short walking distance. We had a great time floating the river and then a fun time listening to live music on Saturday night! Would be great to have a grill on site but we will definitely be going back soon!
