Walnut Bottom
Awesome
Walnut Bottom was an awesome site. Our 23 ft travel trailer fit perfectly with plenty of room for the awning and slideout. Wifey and I were section hiking the AT and able to take in 14 miles of the most iconic treks on the Trail. It was brutally hot for June and taking a dip in the creek next to our site was very convenient. If you find yourself heading to the Catawba area do not miss this.

So so beautiful and peaceful!
We just rented all 3 sites for a week long church girls camp. It was fantastic! Ned is generous and kind and helpful. It couldn’t have been better. The creek is so amazing and lots of shade around. We came from the Raleigh area so we expected the nights to be hot but it cooled down beautifully. We loved it so much!

Very remote. Beautiful creek especially for a dog who likes to swim. Will come back again

Always a good start
This is my third time staying at Savage acres. It’s super private super laid-back lots of nooks and crannies to explore and very relaxing. I’ll come again!

Secluded with Nature!
My partner and I absolutely loved our stay with Alexis and Ned! Our Nissan Altima made it through, no problems.
The view was absolutely spectacular. Ned was amazing with his “Be Prepared” message upon arrival. We saw no poison ivy or poison oak, we both kept bug spray on for most of the trip and had no problems except a few mosquito bites here and there.
The water had a great chill to it, but warmed up nicely the longer you stayed in. It was so clear - you can see all the little minnows and bigger fish as you relax right from your campsite.
We had such an amazing little trip. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful location on the creek! Exactly as described! Very quiet with running water as you fall asleep. Next time in the area, I will def camp on Ned’s land if available.
