Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2024.
We are a family/veteran-owned small farm offering primitive creek-side and open field camping that's perfect for motorcyclists, car campers, and tourists traveling on an adventure. We are located along the historic Crooked Road Music Trail and right off the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile marker 159.3. The picturesque town of Floyd is only 4 miles away, with easy access to music, shopping, multiple grocery stores, local and international themed restaurants - all with a true feeling of Appalachian hospitality. There are 6 creek-side campsites and open-field campsites in the peaceful field, all with access to trails. We have been developing our dream property and wanted to welcome visitors with affordable tent camping in an incredibly beautiful area of the country. Also, on the property we have a store with essential camping needs, local products, artisan items, coffee, and souvenirs. During the summer we offer a "YouPick" flower experience in our crop field (come get a container and pick your own bouquet of flowers) and special/tourism events. Peak season for flowers is from July to September. We would love for you to camp and give us feedback as we are constantly improving things. Our newest amenity is a 1 mile hiking trail that starts at the campground and takes you through the woods to the top of our property. Come ride, camp, and explore the area!

No place like crooked mountains
Checking in was easy, firewood is available if you need at price that doesn't hurt, every stall has a fireplace and a picnic table with a solar light, and there are the occasional deer! Portapottys are also clean and come with toilet paper. If you get lucky and are placed on the field you'll be able to enjoy fireflies in the summer :) There were also not too many bugs though we're near a stream which was super great in July. 10/10 would stay here again!

This was our first time here and could honestly say one of the best camp sites we’ve ever visited. Stunning views, everyone at the store up front was so friendly! It was clean and the perfect little get away! We will absolutely be coming back.

We chose this location because of the higher elevation and cooler temperatures, we were not disappointed at all, highs in the 70’s and lows in the 50’s. Perfect camping weather. The host were super nice people. We had tent site 3. Probably the most private of the six tent sites. Just a one minute walk to the portable toilet, which was very clean. Also the shower was by the store, which was also very clean and private. The shower also has a tankless water heater so you don’t have to work about running out of hot water. The sound of the creek was very pleasant to listen to. Overall we were very satisfied with this place and plan on returning when the weather cools down. My wife and I would high recommend this place.

Brian and Christy run a clean well maintained place to enjoy your camping adventure. They are so welcoming from the time you check in to the time you check out. The farm is beautiful, especially at night when there's more stars than you can count. They go the extra mile to make sure your stay there is an enjoyable and memorable one.

Crooked Mountain's It's every camper's dream come true. It's safe and comfortable but rocky and lonely at the same time. Your hosts are kind and friendly. If it's on your route, meeting them will be great for you. We also got to see a deer and it was magical.

I really enjoyed my campsite. It was right beside the creek. There was a toilet and sink area right next to my site. There was even a trail to take my dogs on. There was a shower near the camp store that I didn’t avail myself of, but it looked great. Everything was neat as a pin. Sleeping by the creek was great! What I was surprised to hear, however, at 8 AM was a lot of construction type of noise. It was loud enough that I realized the nature sounds around me couldn’t compete. I went ahead and packed up and left. On my way out, I investigated, and discovered that right across the road is an active quarry. So, if you want a place to hang out that is wonderful in the evenings, this is the place! If you want to hang out during the day, you might be challenged with the noise .
