One very large, private site, plenty of room for a large group. All yours, no sharing. Pet friendly! Private porta john, cleaned weekly. No electric or hook ups, Generators welcomed. Amazing tent/ small camper site. Level ground, private boat dock and boat landing! Swimming, fishing, kayaking, floating, canoeing, paddle boarding. Enjoy the beautiful sunrises, sunsets and wildlife. Firewood available for $30. per tractor bucket load, of 1/2 for $20. 15 minutes from Virginia Tech and RU. Great place for a tailgate before a game. Train comes by occasionally, but no whistle, private crossing.ONE very large private site!! Dog Friendly! Very very private, lots of shade on level ground. On the bank of The New River. 15 minutes from Virginia Tech. This spot also offers a boat dock, as well as a boat landing., Fire pit, charcoal grill, outhouse! Great fishing! Enjoy the peaceful sounds of wildlife. Watch for Eagles! Relax around the campfire. Last minute bookings……. NO PROBLEM! Paradise Great place for a tailgate before a football game. Pull your vehicles right up to the campsite! Private railroad crossing, trains come by occasionally, No train whistle! The New River is quite lazy, allows for fun floating, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, you name it!

A Great Escape!
We loved staying on Jennifer’s property! It was calm, quiet, and truly the perfect escape. We loved having access to the river and spent most of our time by the water. Our pup loved it too! The outhouse was incredibly clean and super convenient. It was also great to multiple options for cooking and a fire pit. Trains do go by often but didn’t bother us. They may frighten a more anxious dog! The host’s house is within view of the campsite but they gave us complete privacy the whole time we were there! A pretty heavy storm came through our second night there but we were still able to sleep in our tent and use the campsite the following morning. Truly a great stay with great hosts. We can’t wait to go back!

We loved camping here on Jennifer’s land! The river was the perfect temperature to cool off when it was 90 degrees! The water is so clear you can see your feet! Definitely wear your water shoes for the river rocks. I love this river because the bottom is sandy instead of mud. The water is pretty low due to no rain so you can’t jump off the dock. Also I didn’t see a rope swing. Our dogs had a blast running around and swimming. Every night they were exhausted. Be prepared for the train that comes by multiple times throughout the day and night. Jennifer’s property is down some steep hills so if you are pulling a pop up camper or a travel trailer you will need 4wd to get back to the road. Jennifers husband was nice enough to pull our camper to the road if we needed help. Fishing was great. As soon as we got there I caught a fish that was so big I couldn’t even reel my pole. The next catch I lost it right at the dock. They have some huge rock bass in this river! You can sit on the picnic table and watch them jump in the water. There are a few hang ups so bring plenty of hooks and weights! It was so wholesome and amazing I can’t say enough compliments! We will definitely be booking again!

Private, peaceful by the river
This place is so great that I hesitate to give a good review lest everyone start booking it. The owners are wonderful. We loved the privacy and the being right on the river is amazing. We will definitely be booking this site again.

Perfection!!!!
We fell in love with this place as soon as we arrived. It is so beautiful. Our dogs had a great time running around and playing. My husband brought his blowup boat and spent so much time out fishing. The hosts are so kind and helpful but not intrusive. The train was a non issue for us. It passed by a couple of time during the day and couple at night. Since finding Hipcamp we never stay at traditional campgrounds anymore. We especially like places like this where we have it all to ourselves!!! This one by far has been our favorite place. We will be back!!!
