174 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area, very convenient to both I-81 (2-1/2 miles south of) and I-77 (10 miles east of) with scattered clearings connected by over 3 miles of cleared roads throughout the property, which are perfect for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a very small creek, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature. Each of the 3 sites is hundreds of yards apart. Note: there is no bathroom on the premises, however you can book a toilet tent as an extra. 4 Wheel Drive or All wheel drive are helpful during the winter months, or if there has been a lot of rain or snow/ice. Be aware that while we do not impose a penalty for cancellation of reservation, HipCamp does. If you cancel your reservation, HipCamp will refund you all the money except 15% (which is their fee.) Things to watch out for are deer ticks and poison ivy. Campers are expected to leave the site neat and take all their trash with them. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81 (North or South), use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more. Also, check out the Draper Mountain overlook on Rt 11, just 10 minutes from our HipCamp. We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change. Bring your dogs ! Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, firewood, Woodshop class making a cutting board, Bigfoot sightings as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.

Up On Top Campsite

The Up On Top Campsite is just as the name describes, it is the highest point on the property providing beautiful views of the surrounding hills. The view is even better now that we have removed some trees. The campsite sits on the top of a ridge but there is still plenty of level space to park or set up a tent. In addition to the view you will enjoy a picnic table and firepit. The only downside to this location is it can be a little windier due to lack of hills and trees to act as a windbreak but it isn't usually excessive. Also, there is no shade at this site, so if it is a hot day, it will be hot up there. The wind can make fire more dangerous so please use good judgement in deciding whether to light a campfire and keep the provided water jug nearby just in case. This campsite is fairly centrally located on the property which provides you the ability to roam in any direction or explore a new direction each day that you are here. Most 2WD vehicles generally have no trouble getting up the road to the site, but if there has been a lot of rain or snow/ice, 4WD or All Wheel Drive is recommended and maybe even required.

Bruington Meadow Campsite

The Bruington Meadow is a beautiful clearing at the end of one of the many trails on the property. This site is very secluded from others offering silence and privacy. This site sits at the edge of the 100 Acre Wood and offers a good view of the rolling Virginia landscape off in the distance. It is surrounded by trees offering shade and protection but on one end there is a clearing in the trees that allows you to enjoy the view of the landscape. Access to this site involves driving on roads that we have cut that may be moderately steep and winding at times. I drive my small 2WD car into camp without issue but a long trailer may have difficulty. Can accommodate up to 4 or 5 tents. We have had 24 people at this site on several occasions.

Easter Egg Meadow Campsite

The Easter Egg Meadow campsite is a large semi-round meadow and was the location of our family's annual easter egg hunt for 30+ years. The meadow has a gradual slope but is mostly level on one end where you will find the fire pit surrounded by large sitting rocks, and two picnic tables, and space to set up your tent and/or park your vehicle. There is a large tree in the center of the meadow providing good shade at all times. The meadow is surrounded by forest to provide great privacy. In addition to the access road there are 2 additional roads leaving the meadow that allow easy access to explore the rest of the property. Access to this site includes one fairly sharp corner which may be difficult with long trailers so make sure to swing wide. If you are concerned about it let us know and we can provide assistance or an alternate site entirely.

Wow!! Just wow! We stayed at Up On Top for our wedding anniversary this past weekend and can see why 100 acre wood was given the honor of Best Hipcamp of 2025 and 2026! David and his wife took us on a tour of their beautiful property and couldn't have been any kinder! The views were amazing as well! David made sure we had everything we needed and was extremely accommodating. We truly enjoyed the laughter and great conversations. This place is a gem, quiet, peaceful and truly magical! We can't wait to go back! Highly recommend!!!

My daughter and I really enjoyed staying here. The campsite was well-maintained, offering plenty of privacy and a series of pleasant trails. Excellent communication from the host. And if you're looking for a break from the outdoors, head to the Conery (for ice cream and coffee) or the Draper Mercantile Village (for food and coffee), just 10 minutes away. Highly recommend!

Bruington Meadow Campsite
We chose 100 Acre Wood for its proximity to home, limited number of sites and privacy amongst the trees - bonus was it's easy access, with a few nearby state parks on our list to explore. What we found exceeded expectations on every front. We arrived as the skies were darkening ahead of incoming rain, and David greeted us with genuine warmth. Before we even set up camp, he offered a tour of the land: trails, open fields, and forest enough to occupy a full stay even without touching the surrounding amenities. He's well-traveled and easy to talk to, which put our young family immediately at ease. What stood out most was David's balance as a host. He made himself available for anything we needed, offered thoughtful suggestions, and then stepped back to let us enjoy the land on our own terms. The nights were the real surprise: no wildlife disturbances, no noisy neighbors (despite other guests on the property), just wind moving through the trees. It's the quietest sleep we've had while camping. If you go: bring a telescope for the dark skies, and ask David about his woodworking shop. It's every bit as impressive as the land he's cultivating. We'll be back.

Bruington Meadow Campsite is a beautiful camping spot with a great view. The camp site is very private with plenty of trails to explore. The property has plenty of wildlife to enjoy. David, the owner is extremely friendly and gave a great tour of his lovely property and was accommodating. I’d highly recommend camping at 100 acre wood and am looking forward to visiting again

I had an absolutely amazing experience. It rained right before I got in so the road was a little wet but no issue getting up in my truck parked up on the hill on a nice flat area where I was met by David the host and informed about the property had an absolute fantastic rest an amazing view from the Campsite in the morning where David actually came and picked me up from my Campsite of a tour and man was it worth it. I will also add plenty of privacy in the property is gorgeous. Definitely a worthwhile stay.

The site was perfect and we had a wonderful time. Our dog Lucy loved playing fetch in the wide open field. David and his wife are great hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the property and the new firepit added during our stay was a great touch. Will be recommending to all of our friends!

Bruington Meadow Campsite
Stayed in this site for 4 days. The privacy was unmatched, and besides from the occasional sound of a car or truck in the far distance it is very peaceful. The view of the stars at night is very clear directly above you as there are trees for shade around the perimeter. There are other sites more open but no shade provided. So the choice of us was easy during the warmer days the shade was a god sent. The road getting to the site is not suitable for a car with low clearance yet,(we drive a truck and a Subaru outback and had no problem), but owners were very curious about any constructive help to make things better. There are towns and amenities close (15 min) away to get anything you forgot or need. And many amazing wonders to admire (dismal falls, beautiful water fall and pretty easy access even with some walking issues.) The owners were very helpful with any problems and concerns and even give tours of the property and existing as well as future sites. They genuinely seem to care about the customers enjoyment away and want to improve anything they can for you and future campers. Our dogs were welcomed and enjoyed chasing a squirrel and laying around the rest of the time sunbathing. We had an amazing time and felt very comfortable out in nature

We loved our stay on David’s land. We arrived late after dinner in Pulaski. We were regrettably informed that David likes to give a tour of the property to get the lay of the land. We were sad we missed out on that but we will hopefully be back in the future. The site is beautiful, even in the fog and rain. Our dogs loved running around on the hill. It was very peaceful and quiet. We will have to plan to comeback for longer in the future.

What a wicked awesome place to stay. Very quiet and away from everything. I met David as I was arriving. He was friendly and said he would check on me later. He arrived just about sunset and offered a tour of the property. Well worth the time to take the tour. Very nice piece of property. I will definitely stay here again. A++

100 acre woods is beautiful, peaceful, and spacious. Our host, David, always has the site sparkling clean with fresh water and so many amenities to make the trip comfortable and fun. I love that I can bring my dogs and have miles of trails to wander.
