174 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings connected by over 2 miles of cleared roads throughout the property, which are perfect for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a very small creek, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature. Each of the 3 sites is hundreds of yards apart. Note: there is no bathroom on the premises, however you can book a toilet tent as an extra. 4 Wheel Drive or All wheel drive are helpful during the winter months if there has been a lot of rain or snow/ice. Things to watch out for are deer ticks and poison ivy. Campers are expected to leave the site neat and take all their trash with them. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more. Also, check out the Draper Mountain overlook on Rt 11, just 10 minutes from our HipCamp. We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change. Bring your dogs ! Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, Bigfoot sitings as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.

Up On Top Campsite

The Up On Top Campsite is just as the name describes, it is the highest point on the property providing beautiful views of the surrounding hills. The campsite sits on the top of a ridge but there is still plenty of level space to park or set up a tent. In addition to the view you will enjoy a picnic table and firepit. The only downside to this location is it can be a little windier due to lack of hills and trees to act as a windbreak but it isn't usually excessive. Also, there is no shade at this site, so if it is a hot day, it will be hot up there. The wind can make fire more dangerous so please use good judgement in deciding whether to light a campfire and keep the provided water jug nearby just in case. This campsite is fairly centrally located on the property which provides you the ability to roam in any direction or explore a new direction each day that you are here. 2WD vehicles generally have no trouble getting up the road to the site, but if there has been a lot of rain or snow/ice, 4WD or All Wheel Drive is better.

Bruington Meadow is a beautiful clearing at the end of one of the many trails on the property. This site is very secluded from others offering silence and privacy. This site sits at the edge of the 100 Acre Wood and offers a great view of the rolling Virginia landscape. This is our newest site and my personal favorite as it is surrounded by trees offering shade and protection but on one end there is a clearing in the trees that allows you to enjoy the view of the landscape. Access to this site involves driving on roads that we have cut that may be moderately steep and winding at times. I drive my small 2WD car into camp without issue but a long trailer may have difficulty.

Easter Egg Meadow Campsite

The Easter Egg Meadow campsite is a large semi-round meadow and was the location of our family's annual easter egg hunt for 30+ years. The meadow has a gradual slope but is mostly level on one end where you will find the fire pit surrounded by large sitting rocks, and two picnic tables, and space to set up your tent and/or park your vehicle. There is a large tree in the center of the meadow providing good shade at all times. The meadow is surrounded by forest to provide great privacy. This is the site closest to the farmhouse but due to the elevation change and the trees between them you still feel completely secluded. In addition to the access road there are 2 additional roads leaving the meadow that allow easy access to explore the rest of the property. Access to this site includes one fairly sharp corner which may be difficult with long trailers so make sure to swing wide. If you are concerned about it let us know and we can provide assistance or an alternate site entirely.

Ask for the tour! David was very nice and very accommodating. If you stay for more than a day, do the wood working craft with him. Views were awesome and got to drive to one spot to see the sunrise and sunset.

A beautiful site with tons of privacy. This site was very easy to find, with clear directions. The dogs were able to run around while we set up camp. We were given a tour of the property which was fun. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.

We loved our stay on David’s land. We arrived late after dinner in Pulaski. We were regrettably informed that David likes to give a tour of the property to get the lay of the land. We were sad we missed out on that but we will hopefully be back in the future. The site is beautiful, even in the fog and rain. Our dogs loved running around on the hill. It was very peaceful and quiet. We will have to plan to comeback for longer in the future.

What a wicked awesome place to stay. Very quiet and away from everything. I met David as I was arriving. He was friendly and said he would check on me later. He arrived just about sunset and offered a tour of the property. Well worth the time to take the tour. Very nice piece of property. I will definitely stay here again. A++

100 acre woods is beautiful, peaceful, and spacious. Our host, David, always has the site sparkling clean with fresh water and so many amenities to make the trip comfortable and fun. I love that I can bring my dogs and have miles of trails to wander.

What a wonderful spacious and quiet serene spot! David was extremely accommodating and friendly, and even took me on an ATV tour of the 100+ acre property. Great on so many levels. Lots of wilderness to explore and close to the highway yet not bombarded with traffic noise- great balance between seclusion and closeness to transit. Highly recommend!

Easter Egg Meadow Campsite
First of all, the owners, David and Kathy are AMAZING - they bent over backwards for me (I’ll get to that in a minute). Secondly the property was beautiful and everything we could’ve asked for. We stayed at Easter Egg Meadow with my family of 6, including two kids under 4 years old, and my friend’s family with another 3 year old. Easter Egg Meadow was perfect! Plenty of shade for us to be comfortable in a little heat wave, and plenty of room, even with 3 tents set up, for the kids to run around and have a great time. There’s so much to explore at this property and we can’t wait to go back! Now, back to David and Kathy. Both came up to greet us when we got there, and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with them. David even took everyone on a tour of the entire 170+ acre property in his Kawasaki Mule. Here’s where they went above and beyond. We got packed up to head home after our two nights there, and my Suburban wouldn’t start. My wife and I tried to jump it for an hour from her car and had no luck. I asked David if he thought a tow truck could get up to get my car. He said, “Help is on the way.” His neighbor drove me to Pulaski to get a new battery and then he and David helped me replace the battery in my car. It was an unbelievable display of kindness from David, Kathy and their neighbor, Mike to me, a complete stranger. They are genuinely great people, and I appreciate them more than they’ll ever know!

Easter Egg Meadow Campsite
We had such a great stay at this Hipcamp! It truly feels like you’re completely away from everything—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature—but you’re actually just a few minutes from the interstate, which made getting there and getting around really easy. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed while still giving us plenty of space to relax and enjoy ourselves. You can tell they really care about their guests. We had a little unexpected excitement during our stay, but even that didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed the experience. It’s the perfect spot if you want that “away from it all” feeling without being too far off the grid. We’d definitely stay again

Bruington Meadow Campsite
Our trip back home from GA to WV had a lot of traffic delays and the weather was turning much colder than expected, so we decided to power through and drive straight home. But since this was right on the way home, we decided to stop and check out the site. It's a beautiful spot with trees on three sides, so there's less wind. The site is primitive but well maintained with two nice picnic benches and a good fire pit. Communication was great. We will be back!

Next time I look forward to exploring the property with David. Camping at 100 acre wood was the highlight of my trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway. The views are amazing! I love the solitude at 100 Acre Wood. You are alone on many acres and we can bring our big old dogs and let them run off lease safely. The site is always clean and the host, David, is always welcoming and makes sure you have what you need.

Private and beautiful
Bruington Meadow Campsite
We drove straight from Arkansas to Virginia and showed up a bit late, but we still found the site with ease. As soon as we found the spot, I called David, who asked us if there was anything else we needed while there. Side note: Verizon didn’t work for us out there, but Mint Mobile did. Anyway, this was the first night of camping for our new pup, and we took one of the senior dogs as well. I wanted privacy as I wasn’t sure how they would react, and this site delivered that and more. While in Virginia we stayed at a few different campgrounds (two hipcamp spots and one state park), and David’s place had the best night ambience/soundscape experience. I’m one of those people who sleep with multiple fans, and the nature sounds here were enveloping in such a lovely and harmonious way. And at one point we heard coyotes, which personally, I loved. In the morning, after a walk (and it smelled so good on the walk!), we had the pleasure of meeting with David and spending some time conversing and seeing the land and other camping spots. I already know what spot I want to stay in for the upcoming spring. :) Overall a great experience with a friendly host, and an absolutely wonderful area for someone introducing their dog to camping.
