Three creek-side tent sites and an RV site in an enchanted forest! Enjoy well maintained walking trails, hidden treasure boxes, art and game station, scavenger hunts, gnome hide and seek, and learning about a working shiitake mushroom farm! All sites are spaced out for maximum privacy - see map! Each site includes a large propane grill, fire pit, solar string lights, tables and seating, hammocks, critter proof boxes for food, and firewood available for purchase (conveniently located at the site). Clean composting toilet (serviced 2x a day). Rental items include tents (we will set up for you), sleeping pads, coolers with ice, potable water jugs, and insect screens. Within a couple miles of Southern Revere Brewery/Winery and scenic Forrest Green Farm. There is a lot to do on the property: * 40 acres with a couple miles of trails you can hike or bike (map provided) * Self-guided tour of mushroom farm * Hidden creature scavenger hunt * Gnomes are hidden throughout the forest for you to find AND hide! * Hidden treasure boxes - take something and/or leave something!

Serene private camp sits alongside 200' of creek and has its own refreshing natural pool (about 3' deep)! Lots of amenities and super private. Large chill groups and families welcome, no loud parties or events. 2 minute gradual downhill walk to camp OR drive directly to camp ** If it's dry, most vehicles will be fine - ask if unsure! Super low sport cars or luxury vehicles would not be the best, though! It's an adventurous forest drive, so expect mud, bumps, scratches, and tight turns. Come camp out on our shiitake mushroom farm! We have four sites spread over 40 acres; therefore, each is very private. This site is known as Waterthrush on the map (see photos). It's named after a bird we commonly see here. This site includes a four burner propane grill with a side burner (propane and grill utensils provided), solar string lights, two hammocks, outside furniture set (seats five), dining table and four chairs, two stools, extra bar top and shelf for prep and storage, fire pit, firewood for sale, cooking grate for fire pit, and a trash can and liners (we will take trash off for you). Two minute walk to the clean composting toilet outhouse. We clean it twice a day. This site has its own 200' section of creek. You can get your feet wet in the shallow parts or cool off in the deeper 3' section. All of this is for you; no one else will have access to your portion of the creek! It is a spring fed creek that starts just at the top of the property, so it is clean (we still recommend boiling water if using it to drink, though!). If you would like to make the experience even easier, you can rent a tent (we will set it up for you before you arrive), sleeping pads, insect screen, cooler with ice, or you can purchase potable water. There is plenty to do on our farm. We have walking trails, hidden treasure boxes, a painting and game station, a scavenger hunt, and much more (see pics for more information). Our farm is two minutes from Southern Revere brewery (you may hear noise on Fridays and/or Saturdays from the brewery) and five minutes from Forrest Green Farm. There is plenty of parking in the field for large groups; only a few cars would fit comfortably at the actual site.

The "Catbird" campsite is very secluded, private, and HIKE-IN ONLY (12 minute hike)! You will have a knee deep creek pool all to yourself! Check out our other listings for sites closer to the parking lot or that are vehicle accessible. Lots of amenities and super private. Large chill groups and families welcome, no loud parties or events. Come camp out on our shiitake mushroom farm! We have four sites spread over 40 acres; therefore, each is very private. This site is known as Catbird on the map (see photos). This site includes a propane grill (propane and grill utensils provided), solar string lights, two hammocks, outside furniture (seats four), dining table and four chairs, fire pit, firewood for sale, cooking grate for fire pit, and a trash can and liners (we will take trash off for you). Eight minute walk to the clean composting toilet outhouse. We clean it twice a day. Site sits along its own 100' section of creek. You can get your feet wet in the shallow parts or cool off in the deeper section. All of this is for you; no one else will have access to your portion of the creek! It is a spring fed creek that starts just at the top of the property, so it is clean (we still recommend boiling water if using it to drink, though!). If you would like to make the experience even easier, you can rent a tent (we will set it up for you before you arrive), sleeping pads, insect screen, cooler with ice, or you can purchase potable water. Our farm is 2 minutes from Southern Revere brewery and 5 mins from Forrest Green Farm. What to Expect: You will park in the parking lot (2WD accessible) and carry gear with you. The trail descends into the forest gradually (so expect a slight uphill climb to exit). After you're in the forest, there are a couple of small hills, but it's mostly flat once you reach the creekside trail.

Gorgeous and private forested creekside camp surrounded by towering tulip poplars and shiitake mushroom logs. NEW - access at the site to a private knee deep creek pool perfect for cooling off or taking a refreshing natural bath! Lots of amenities and super private. It's a downhill walk, so you go back uphill to your car. There's a garden cart to help you transport gear! Come camp out on our shiitake mushroom farm! We have four sites spread over 40 acres; therefore, each is very private. This site is known as Phoebe on the map (see photos). It's named after a bird we commonly see here. Site includes: 4 burner propane grill with side burner (gas and grill utensils provided), solar string lights, dining table and 4 chairs, an extra table for prep or dining, a garden couch and chair, 4 stools, 2 hammocks, fire pit, firewood for sale, trash can and liners (we will take trash off for you), and a critter proof box that doubles as dry storage. Three minute walk to the clean composting toilet outhouse; we clean it twice a day. Plenty of parking in the field for large groups. Only a couple of cars would comfortably fit at the actual site. Immerse yourself in nature at this private forest retreat in the beautiful and enchanted Phantom Hill Forest! This glampsite includes a charming, clean, and comfortable off-grid camper for those that don’t want to entirely detach from modern conveniences. Most vehicles can drive to the site. Low or luxury vehicles not recommended. It's an adventurous drive, so expect bumps, scratches, and tight turns! If you do not want to drive, it's a 15 min walk from parking lot. Chill groups welcome. No loud parties as we are family friendly. Extra guests will find ample space to pitch a tent around the RV. The RV itself is really only suitable for 2-4 guests. There's a finite amount of water (35 gal); therefore, extra guests need to use the clean composting toilet (7 min walk) and not everyone can take a shower. Camper has interior and exterior lighting, heat, AC, hot and cold water, indoor bathroom (sink, toilet, shower), kitchen with sink, stovetop, microwave, drip coffee maker, dishes, cookware, dish soap and towels, and basic pantry items. NO refrigerator (cooler with ice rental avail). We recommend bringing drinking water or purchasing 5 gal from us (we'll set at site before your arrival). TV, DVD player, DVDS, games inside. Comfortable full bed in the bedroom. The dining table and the sofa each convert to a bed that's about the size of a twin. All linens (sheets, blankets, and pillows) provided as well as towel sets for four guests. ALL LINENS are washed after each guest in all natural detergent. This site includes a six burner propane grill with side burner (propane and grill utensils provided), solar string lights, four hammocks, four outside lounge chairs, dining table set (seats four), bistro set, fire pit, cooking grate for fire pit, and a trash can and liners. Seasoned firewood is AT your site, reasonably priced, and convenient to purchase (QR codes at the site). While you’re here fly high on the epic swing, take a self-guided tour of our shiitake mushroom farm, raid treasure boxes hidden throughout the forest (feel free to bring small unwanted trinkets to add to the 15+ boxes!), create a work of art at the imagination station, and keep an eye out for gnomes hiding out alongside the trails. You’ll also find gorgeous flora, fauna, and funga on your walks.

This was one of our favorite family camping spots!! The site is well appointed with plenty of room for the six of us to cook and eat and hang. The whole place is kind of magical and we loved exploring! The outhouse is clean and close and everything is well thought out. We can't wait to come back!!

Kathryn was a great hosts , their farm is amazing scenic , from the hiking trails , to the mushroom land , imagination station it was just phenomenal. Magical place! We were a large group with several children ages 0-10, and the kids were all in heaven on your property! Not only was it perfect for a large group, but there was so much to do on the grounds! We all loved learning about mushrooms, and the hike with gnomes and trinkets was so enjoyable for everyone! This was our second time camping at Phantom Hill and it has easily become our absolute favorite place to camp as a family! Kathryn is truly a wonderful host who has thought of everything to make the experience simply phenomenal. We previously stayed at the Hummingbird campsite but this time we decided to try Waterthrush and it was just as lovely! We loved the string lights and hammocks, and it’s so convenient having a grill, chairs and tables all available to use! The forest is so beautiful and we loved walking the trails and my kids especially loved the treasure hunt! It was so cool seeing the mushroom farm too! As if there isn’t enough to do, they even have an Imagination Station where the kiddos can paint rocks and play games! This place is just MAGICAL. ✨ Kathryn is always such an accommodating host! When my husband and I realized we had a hole in our air mattress we brought, I texted Kathryn about renting a mattress pad and she was there in minutes! She goes above and beyond for her guests! Also highly recommend purchasing the natural soap from the Honor Shop. It smells amazing!!! If you want a very private camping experience with great perks and beautiful foliage, trust me, this is your spot. We cannot wait to come back!

My group had a wonderful time camping at the Hummingbird site this weekend! The space was fantastic with plenty of tent space and areas to sit around the fire. We ended up using the grill and picnic table for dinner before roasting smores over the fire. I would 100% recommend.

Truly phenomenal camping spot! This spot was a perfect combination of wild (it felt very private and quiet) and well-appointed (awesome site setup with chairs, hammocks, and other camping amenities). We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves with walks around the property‘s winding trails and delight in all the little things the owner had done to make it unique (don’t miss Mushroom Land!). We also went to the nearby brewery/winery and had a fun evening listening to live music and drinking tasty drinks. We’re already talking about when we can go back! This is a don’t-miss spot if you’re looking to get away.

It was such a beautiful place to stay. There was plenty of room for tents for our grown children and grandkids. But for us, to have a camper to sleep in at our age was a bonus! Ice and water were added in as requested! The kids loved finding treasures on the hike, and we replaced with treasure we brought! It is clean and just a great family friendly experience.

A true oasis and magical retreat!

Forest Oasis - Waterthrush
We stayed at Waterthrush (all the campsites are named after birds!) with our group of 8 kids ages 2-8 and 6 adults. We were able to fit three 4-6 person tents at the site with a little creativity. It was so nice to have the seating, grill, and hammocks provided. We had four wonderful nights there. There was minor road noise, FYI, but the site is great and private from the other sites and public areas of the property. The composting toilet/outhouse was very clean and pleasant. Kathryn was very responsive and a truly wonderful host. She was gracious and accommodating with a booking error I made, and she helped save the day when one of our vehicles needed a jump start. The whole property is beautiful. We loved exploring the trails, mushroom operations, and the imagination station. Our kids were in heaven with the trails, creek, and treasure boxes and gnomes to discover. We have already booked a trip for next year!

We live 30 minutes west of this property and were looking for something that would be easy to do with kids on a whim. This campsite (we were at Waterthrush) absolutely came through on its promises. We were there late in the season so the creek wasn't really something the adults could enjoy but the children loved splashing through it and looking for tadpoles. The grill/cooking implements, furniture, stack of split firewood and solar string lights onsite made for a very pleasant and comfortable stay. There is a single shared compost toilet / outhouse at the moment about a 3 min walk from the site, and while I had hesitations about using it initially, I can honestly say it is the cleanest outhouse I have ever seen and will likely ever see. What's more, the host told me as we were leaving that there are plans to install one for each site. As far as the host, our only direct interaction was a positive one and she was very accommodating about an issue she had no control over. My only note I would relay is that on the side of the site that is slightly upriver from where the furniture is staged, it may be more difficult to find a level spot for a larger tent. Downriver there was a large flat area. Hope you have a chance to enjoy this property soon!

Phobe was an awesome site. The farm was awesome. My three kids had a blast. The trials and the treasure hunting/ gnome and seek had them enjoying the hike. The honor firewood was also located at the site I nice touch when you want privacy.

We had a really great time! 11 of us hung out and relaxed with four doggies. It was very private and having the creek entertained the doggies and kids. Such a cute set up. The solar powered lights and grill came in handy.

🌲 Great private camping spot with a pleasant vibe! 🌲 We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The location felt private and peaceful — perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all. The environment was lovely, surrounded by nature and very quiet, which made it easy to unwind. The bathrooms were clean and well-kept, which we appreciated; the only small downside was that they weren’t right next to our campsite, so it took a short walk. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable place to camp! 🌿⛺✨

OK – some really great aspects, and some distractors. First – Positive – 1) follow the instructions exactly and you will find the trailhead. For Phoebe, you must, must turn right at the 4x4 sign. 2) The site is beautiful. 3) The site was amply supplied 4) Don’t worry about kindling. There is gobs around the woods. 5) The owners are super communicative. 6) There is a very cool clean compostable toilet, but far 7) The blue trail hike was fun 8) You really feel like you are camping in the wild 9) You learn something about harvesting shitake mushrooms (1 year!) Negative – 1) You get to the trailhead and have no idea how to get your camping gear to the site. 2) There are stumps at the campsite. I tripped over the same one so many times that my husband took it out with an axe. 3) There is no truly level ground at Phoebe. Catbird offers two level spaces. We were all at slight angles, which was complicated. 4) There is a main house, which might also be rented – blaring everything from country to metal music on Saturday night. The noise restrictions did stop this on time but did I have to endure “Back in Black” at full volume at 6:28 on a camping trip with my son? 5) The picture in hipcamp depicts a woman floating in a wide stream. Hmmm. The deepest water we found was next to the Catbird site. The water next to Phoebe was a trickle. All in all a good experience, but for $90/night, I would have chosen Catbird or a cabin somewhere else.

We had so much fun staying here! The swing was a big hit for my 11 year old. He loved it. The entire property is beautiful and well setup for guests. It was easy to walk around and explore. The RV was super cute and had everything we needed. I definitely recommend getting some water and the mushrooms. Having water on site made things so much easier and the mushrooms were delicious. Would definitely go back again!

This was our second time staying at this site, and we’d love to keep coming back every year. It’s a great campsite and beautiful piece of land with incredible biodiversity (we saw even more interesting critters than we did a year ago when we visited, so the hosts are clearly being great stewards to the land) . Our son had the time of his life catching beetles and playing in the lovely stream. The hosts are kind and were so helpful. It was cool to walk the trails a bit too and learn about shiitake farming!
