Cozy Bear sits right by the large noisy, trout stocked creek, with a private hot tub between the creek and the cabin, and less than five miles from Hillsville, which has a grocery store, local shops, a gym, dining, and nearby hiking. There is a shared bathhouse with a conventional toilet and an outside shower, shared with tent guests occasionally. Inside Cozy Bear, there is a queen mattress up in the loft, and a sleeper sofa downstairs. The kitchen has a sink, coffee maker and on the deck is a blackstone griddle, a propane firepit and a wood burning firepit is by the creek. Cozy Bear has a composting toilet and a shower in the bathroom, an ac window unit and a beautiful propane fireplace. If the temps get extreme outside, the waterlines do freeze. I will gladly do a full refund or change your dates if the forecast is well below freezing, although this cabin is cozy and warm inside. Cozy Bear is solar power/ and grid and is a six mile drive to I-77 and the Blue Ridge Parkway.Cozy Bear sits on the creek bank, solar powered and on the grid. The hot tub is perched on a deck, overlooking the trout stocked creek. a kitchenette with running water, a hot shower and composting toilet, a memory foam mattress, a Blackstone grill just by the door with cast iron cooking utensils, a propane fire pit and a wood burning fire pit with a cooking grate. This place has a tiny footprint to help protect Mother Earth. There is also a propane fireplace inside. Cozy Bear is pet friendly for a $25 pet fee per stay. Enjoy the creek right beside this cabin, and the privacy all around. Catch a few trout and grill them on the wood burning firepit grill or on the blackstone. Sit by the creek, where a live spring feeds into the creek, and watch the wildlife pass by. There is a sleeper sofa for those that do not want to sleep in the loft.

Creekside campground is an absolute gem! We started our stay tent camping right by the beautiful, rushing creek, which provided the most relaxing background noise at night. Halfway through our trip, we moved into one of their small, off-grid cabins, and it was the perfect cozy upgrade while still keeping that authentic nature connection. Each site comes with a great fire pit for evening campfires. Our camp host, JoDee, was extremely helpful and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The entire property is peaceful, and the clean bathrooms were a major plus. Our dogs were also in absolute heaven here. The property features massive, wide-open areas where they could run, play, and burn off energy safely. We will definitely be back!

The cabin was wonderful to stay in. It has everything necessary to cook and clean with. The creek is nice to sit beside of and the bed is also comfortable. Would definitely recommend to a friends and family

Ideal overnight stay!!

Loved the space & property so much! Communication with host was efficient and helpful. The stream sounded glorious. The small cabin had all the essentials you could ask for. The loft with bed was comfortable. We saw deer in the morning and even purchased two paintings on display in the cabin that a local artist created. A great place for a weekend getaway!

The Cozy Bear was a wonderful place to spend a long weekend. The cabin was beautifully designed, and included all the amenities we needed from kitchenware to a coffee bar to a fan. We used the sleeper sofa rather than the loft, and it was very comfortable. The site itself was beautiful; there was another tent within view, but far enough away that we still had privacy. We had great fun paddling in the creek and enjoying the mountain scenery - we hope to return again soon!
