We will be decorated for Halloween. We are currently working a scary trail. Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek stream is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. The land is mostly flat for walking to camping area. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. If you have your own portapotty, you must take the waste with you. We have no way to dispose of human waste. Absolutely no disposing of human waste on the property or in the trash. There will be a fine. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. Racoons will steal food that is not put away or in coolers. Deer may walk past in the middle of the night. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future. Elevated Campsite with 4 person hub tent above a beautiful creek, firepit, grill and friendly goats. Don't be disturbed by the sound of moving water where wild mink, raccoon, foxes and deer play. Relax on the dock at the pond on the property. Unique plants abound. Majestic creekside views of small outcropping cliffs and enjoy its own swimming hole. The Creekside retreat is part of the 17 acre 1842 estate and original farm which is perched on the now abandoned road which led to Fort Northkill a century ago. You are nearby to hiking on the Appalachian trail, biking or boating at Blue Marsh Lake and Beach or tubing on the Schuylkill River and riding or hiking trail, visit mountain Biking Meccas of : Mt Penn, Blue Marsh Lake, Swatara State Park and Trexlertown. The Reading Railroad Museum, Pagoda, Stokesay Castle , Hawk Mountain, Knoebels and Hershey Parks all located from 10 minutes to under an hour from your campsite. 3000 Blackberry Plants fruit each year as well as Peaches, Nectarines and Pears. Picking available by arrangement. Many Local Wineries nearby, Although the tents' label and description are calculated as 4 person, it seems as though 4 persons would be tight in this 8 x 8 interior and 2 or 2 and youngster would be more comfortable.. Goats roam free!

I had a great night camping at Mel's! She was so thoughtful and nice to talk to, helped me get set up for the night, and showed me around the property so I felt very safe and had a relaxing evening and night. It was lovely meeting Bear the dog and the cats on the property as well, such sweethearts. The campsite was a good size, was decorated for the upcoming holiday, and had plenty of privacy from the road. Beautiful clear starry skies. I'm glad I stayed at Mel's along my trip!

Weekend Trip to Shambala at Mystic Hollow

My mom and I had a blast with our rustic weekend camping trip at the end of October, one last weekend before it got too cold! This is classic rustic camping, less amenities = beautiful nature , in a beautiful meadow with a stream going around it! Mel, the hostess got us plenty of wood when we asked and checked in with us each night! She helped haul all our stuff to our site, so that part wasnt to bad. Just what I needed peace and quiet in nature! Thanks Mel!

This place is awesome. Sites are far enough apart to feel private, but you can walk back to the portapot if needed. Scott was super nice and helpful. Land is beautiful- the views are great, and it’s cool to set up camp among the growing Christmas trees. We’ll definitely be back.

Bill and Erin have a beautiful farm. They make you feel like family. The property is scenic and peaceful. This is one of the ultimate spot for pure rest and relaxation. The property owner has anything you need to make your trip perfect... They offer firewood, eggs, grill/smoker, and hot tub packages( all for reasonable fee). They even offer some farm experiences like feeding and snuggling with their goats. My wife have really come to enjoy our time at the Airfield property.

Weekend Trip to Peace & Quiet by the River!

Visited late October. Beautiful! We did site 3, which was perfect as we bring a lot of gear for comfort and could unload right from our truck. It's adjacent to a small grove of trees so you do have some cover, but you are more exposed than many/most sites. Despite that, you still feel like you have all the privacy in the world, which is incredible. Firewood, eggs and water were waiting for us when we arrived. Views of Hawk Mountain were unreal both in the slight haze of the morning and the golden glow of sunset. Stars were insane. Firepit was large and the wood was some of the best firewood I've ever burned. Generous with the kindling so getting the fire started was easy and it burned hot and slow. Finding our site was simple enough, and communication with Jenn was excellent. There is a freight train that comes by at random intervals, but I thought it was actually kind of cool. Overall an awesome and unique experience and my wife and I definitely want to come back and bring some friends with us to share it with.

Weekend Trip to Peace & Quiet by the River!

Dog Gone was a beautiful secluded site with very nice amenities . Including a clean and usable out house , wash station , prep table , and a very nice fire ring set up . There is a steep hill to navigate to get your gear in and out. It would be nice if the hill was graded and stoned so you could at least get a pick up in and out for transporting gear. My son and I managed but it was a lot of work to pack out . Other than that Susan really does a nice job making your stay very enjoyable. Thank You Susan and Jen

We had a lovely fall weekend glamping on Gini’s land. The site is beautiful and well maintained and the tent is very comfortable and filled with everything you could want even for cold weather camping. Gini’s hospitality was also exceptional (going out of their way to provide extra blankets and hot water bottles to one of our party who camped in a tent), and the land is perfect to walk through. Our dogs enjoyed the freedom safely. Will definitely be back!

What a lovely site! Super easy to pull in and pull back out. Easy to level. Felt incredibly private, despite being next to the owner's home. When we did see the owners, they were so friendly and kind. We were able to take our dogs for a nice mini-hike around their fields, pond and some mowed trails. We liked it so much, we stayed again on our way back home! (had been traveling from NE down to TN and back). We will definitely save this site and stay again if we go back down south in the future.
