A quaint working farm located in the heart of Adams County, PA. Located just minutes from Gettysburg Battlefield, Biglerville Apple Country, Codorus State Park, Pinchot State Park, and Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Also, not far from the Appalachian Trail, and points in Maryland. The small town of Hampton, PA is only a few miles away. There you will find a pizza/sandwich restaurant and a Donut/Ice Cream shop. The adjoining properties are also working farms, and you will be entranced by the surrounding peace and beauty. Almost every direction has a beautiful skyline. You can walked the mowed paths on the farm, fish in the pond, sit around the camp fire and listen to the quiet and the birds signing. If you like to bike or go for long walks the county roads don’t have a much traffic to contend with and are inviting for walks and biking. We offered carriage rides around the farm paths using our dartmoor ponies. We can provide you with large fire 🔥 wood bundles, farm fresh eggs, fresh homemade donuts and bagels to your campsite if you order!

Onsite RV/trailer · Sleeps 4 · 3 beds
Site 6 is secluded and has a travel trailer available for your use. You will need to bring bedding and towels. There’s a full size bed and two bunks. There is also a generator and we will provide 5 gal of gas per nite if you order . The toilet is not usable but there’s the porta potty that is clean. There is a tv and antenna available.

Clean, quiet, peaceful. Overall, great stay. I thought the sites were a little farther apart but there were only 2 sites used the night we were there so it was definitely private enough for us.

Great , clean space. Nice place under the trees for our tent. Area very well maintained. Wonderful polite hosts our dogs loved walking the property. Option to have donuts and/or bagels delivered fresh in the morning. They were delicious. Would definitely recommend

The camping spot was lovely under a big trees spread out and great for birding. The sites are pretty close together, if you have neighbors you will see them. Ours were great and respectful. Bill the host was super kind and helpful. He offered us to walk in the property, which had field, meadow, forest and a pond. Super quiet out there, along side a road with very minimal cars on it. We paid for wood and there was SO much for the campfire. Port a pot clean. We had a great night and fire, but a rainy next day- so we went to New Oxford town and super enjoyed wandering so many unique antique shops and the coffee shop Deja Brew had SO many gluten free pastries/ desserts. We had a great experience at Ponderosa and also enjoyed the quaint town like 10 min away as we got out of the rain.

Excellent site! Owner checked on us to see if we needed anything which was awesome. He even dropped off a dozen warm glazed donuts! Clean site. Looking forward to staying here again next time we visit Gettysburg.

This was our first Hipcamp experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Ponderosa! There was shade for our tent, well maintained toilet and beautiful scenery.

The site was as described. The location was scenic and tree lines. The port-a-John was VERY clean and well stocked. I would recommend this spot for those who want to have a nice quiet evening.

I recently stayed at campsite #5, and it was an excellent experience. The first thing that stood out was how clean everything was—both the grounds and the facilities were well-maintained and spotless. The hosts were incredibly attentive, going above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The location itself is stunning, offering beautiful views that are perfect for those looking to relax and enjoy nature. This was a great site. Flat with light tree coverage. The grass was cut short. The views were outstanding. The only hoses were quite a distance away and only 4 cars came down the road. It's a great place for a meet up, reunion, bbq party or just to chill by the fire.

Relaxing stay on the Ponderosa

I loved my stay on the Ponderosa! The camp site was peaceful and relaxing and the location provided easy access to a number is PA State Parks as well as the Gettysburg Battlefield. The sites were well maintained, recently mowed, and level.

Beautiful simple shady spot under a big old oak tree along a quiet countryside road. Located on the edge of a large farm with great walking trails and lots of space to roam through corn and bean fields. Some cows and horses to visit, as well. A nice metal fire ring and picnic table is provided which was very nice to utilize. Good value and I’d stay her again. Thanks for hosting me and future Hipcampers.

Great campsite. Very serene, quiet and clean. Really felt relaxed under the shade of the big oaks. Plenty of room for rv or trailer to pull in without backing up. There’s enough room to position vehicle in any orientation. Firewood was waiting for me but was too hot to have campfire. Def would go again if I’m in the area. Book 2 sites for more privacy and bigger group. For tent campers, very comfortable and flat sites under the shade. There was also a porta-potty if needed.

This was our first experience with Hipcamp. I was hesitant about no hook ups. But I must say, this is one of our best experiences ever. Floyd, aka Bill filled our water tanks and directed us to our site. And what a sight it was. Mature trees abound, the field was mowed like a yard, the porta potties were clean and our fire wood was right there. The “meadow” was beautiful with mowed walking paths leading to the pond, complete with several pairs of geese. We sat out at the picnic table and listened to the crickets and frogs. It was so relaxing. We had a nice camp fire and toasted hot dogs and marshmallows. The kids were able to ride their bikes on the country roads as there was very little traffic. Just the perfect experience. We will definitely be back!
