I've never written a bad review in my life, but this was a truly disappointing experience. When I encountered weather issues, I messaged this host to ask for any flexibility. What I honestly expected was "Sorry, there's nothing we can do; we recommend you wait it out." I consider that a reasonable response, and I would have understood completely. What I didn't expect was a stream of extremely unproductive and unnecessarily mocking and patronizing messages back—a "grown man" throwing an online temper tantrum fit for a toddler. I was so upset that I inevitably gave up and asked him to stop messaging me, which he didn't listen to (and I don't mean the automatic messages). I had really hoped to make a recurring trip out of this campsite, but after such an unsettling interaction, I no longer felt comfortable or safe visiting this site. Call me old-fashioned, I guess, but when you spend over $500, you hope at the very least to have a normal conversation like adults. I'm sure Marty's going to be all over this and bombard me with more messages now, but some quick advice to save him the effort...next time, just be kind.
