What a great little getaway! The peaceful country setting made for a relaxing stay, and the cows wandering nearby were an entertaining bonus. Mitchell was friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely come back!
The site was tucked between the corn field and cow pasture. A few of the cows would wander towards us with some curiosity, likely to make sure the shenanigans were kept in check. Mitchell and Heather were welcoming and helpful! Will definitely choose to stay here again.

I enjoyed the farm atmosphere and it was very relaxing to sleep with the sounds of nature around.
Shelmar Acres was a very pleasant Hipcamp site located on a working farm. The site is private and peaceful, the perfect spot to unwind! Our hosts could not have been nicer or more helpful. Mitch took time out of his busy schedule to take us on a very interesting and educational tour of his farm. We will plan to come back with our trailer in the future. We definitely recommend this site to others.

Another great stay! Plenty of firewood, peace and quiet, and beautiful fireflies in the field at night. The 30amp hookup is completely reliable; no problems for the entire stay. Full bars on T-Mobile my phone. My dog had a fun time walking around the site!
Mitchell and Heather’s land is so beautiful. They were very accommodating and kind. Mitchell helped me significantly when I first arrived and was very flustered and facing hardship with my children. They stayed in constant communication, yet also gave privacy. Perfect little spot with a beautiful view! Highly recommend and would love to come back sometime.

The site is lovely and secluded. The amenities (power and water) worked well. The hosts are incredible and respectful. One caveat—the farm smell is very strong. Not kind of— the site is next to a pasture. Most of your stuff will smell like it when you leave. This is a positive for many folks and we assume you can make your choice. We appreciate what these folks are doing and they are kind and trustworthy.
Pulling in with our truck camper was so smooth and easy. Level, grassy spot with easy access to power and water. Surrounded by corn and cattle farms, with easy access to the road.
Excellent site. It’s rare to find a private site with 30 amp hookups, and the price was right. Great communication from the host, and the free firewood was an added bonus. Overall, a great experience, and this site is on my list for an upcoming stay!

Perfect little getaway for camping! Great views and very responsive hosts. Would highly recommend.
I positively ADORE this site. It gave me the thre things I wanted most - a spacious site, privacy, and not having to keep my dogs tied up every minute of the day. The site is enormous - I didn’t have the opportunity to measure it, but I estimate between ¼ and ⅓ of an acre. I was able to drive and turn around my car and large cargo trailer with my large tent already erected. It is triangular, bound on two sides by fields and the third by a cow pasture complete with said cows. This is a third-generation family farm - I briefly got to meet Harold, Mitchell’s father, who inherited the farm from HIS dad. I did not have a chance to interact with Heather, but Mitch was so helpful and patient. I had some personal issues with a very large camping tent that was poorly-made and was destroyed by high winds on my initial weekend and had to travel home to get my smaller more trustworthy setup. He constantly offered to help, and I felt assured that if I had really been desperate, help would have been there. The site is ringed by electrified cow fencing - if you have dogs, they might find it shocking - I know I did when i was erecting the flimsy tent that went blowing away like a tumble-weed and touched the fence and i grabbed a metal leg - it isnt painful, but you will definitely feel it. Note, though, this is an active farm - and it smells that way. I lived in Lancaster for many years, so to me, it smells like “home.” Not overpowering, but there.

The hosts were very polite and helpful with accommodating me during my stay at their property.
Enjoyed the peacefulness of this active farm! Loved the birds and the cattle roaming. Loved the corn fields all around. They offered a private peaceful spot on their farm. Hosts gave a tour of their working farm that was very informative and educational. Great location to popular areas… including Hershey Pa. Host was very attentive to my needs. 100% recommend
We had the pleasure of camping on Shelmar Acres a truly special working farm. The site was both pleasant and picturesque, surrounded by stunning countryside views. What made the experience even more memorable was the warm hospitality of the family who runs the farm— they were incredibly welcoming and attentive to our needs. Highly recommended to anyone looking to unwind and get a glimpse of true farm life.
