In 1990, Scott and Sue Miller purchased a 16-acre farm in Elizabethtown, Pa with the intentions of starting a select cut Christmas tree farm. 15,000 trees were purchased and planted on the farm. Six years later, the first tree was sold and since then, the farm has expanded its operations to Bernville, Pa.

The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Note that we are always working to improve our slice of heaven, thus we do have tools, vehicles, and equipment stored around the farm that if not used now will be one day. We appreciate your understanding that some areas are used for our personal / farm storage. If you're not into looking at our farmware, there are a few nearby campgrounds.

We are within walking distance of Swatara State Park and close to the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to the local winery, bowling alley, pub/diner, and movie theater. Grocery stores and gas are also nearby. Miles of hiking, rail trail, single-track mountain biking, and kayaking are all right here! See our kayak and bike rentals under extras!
Hershey Park is approximately a 30-minute drive from our location. Rausch Creek, Anthracite, and Reading off-road areas are also nearby.

Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek stream is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. The land is mostly flat for walking to camping area. Fire rings are included. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. If you have your own portapotty, you must take the waste with you. We have no way to dispose of human waste. Absolutely no disposing of human waste on the property or in the trash. There will be a fine. At this time, I do not have fresh water, shower or electric. I have an extension cord for charging phones, etc...
We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. Racoons will steal food that is not put away or in coolers. Deer may walk past in the middle of the night. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are!
As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future.

Two of our exclusive campsites are located on the banks of the Little Schuylkill River, with the world-renowned Hawk Mountain Sanctuary boarding on the other side of the river. The third site, has an open view of Hawk Mountain and the farm, to say nothing of the full sky view.. Our private, exclusive campsites, easily encompassing about 5 acres at each site and surrounded by the 150 acre farm, are designed to take advantage of the natural surroundings. Here you will find yourself off grid and alone with nature. Imagine yourself pitching your tent along the river or on the hill top, viewing countless birds of prey and all types of wildlife with no other folks around, except for your people.
The location could not be better or more private. Our family for years have camped and played at these site, enjoying the river and night sounds. We are a working Christmas Tree farm as well. Truly private camping, not a commercial camp ground. Very few camping sites exist where you can just have your own space, but you may have it here. Because we are a tree farm, we cannot allow you to bring wood from other locations on to the farm. Wood is for sale here and we request a pre order so we can have it ready at your site. You may purchase through Hipcamp or directly from us.
All sites have a picnic table, a Hawk Shadow Out House, water to wash things, a preparation table and a good bundle of kindling to start off your camping experience. There Is a shovel, cooking grates, log benches and a neat campfire ring. Potable water is available at the farm and you may refill when needed.
Campsite #1 (Lean To Site)
This site is along the river. It is private and lovely.
You may park your car above the site and walk down to the river and camping area. Short, 50 yards, but a steepish walk. Pack in and out accordingly.
Very private, lots of space. It is perfect.
Campsite #2 (Dog Gone Site)
This site is also along the river.
It is private and has the same set up as site one.
Park your car on top of hill and walk on down. It is a lovely spot. Walk is about 50 yards down a steep hill. Pack accordingly.
Campsite #3 (High Site)
Site 3 is above the river and looks over Hawk Mountain and the farm.
It is private with beautiful views. Unreal full moon gazing.............
Sunrise, Sunset, Moon rise, Bird watching, all very visible from this site.
Car accessible, no walking to campsite required.
At all sites, different seasons bring different activities. Spring: Kayaking, fishing and hiking. Summer: hiking, fishing in the pond, cooling off in the swim hole. Fall: raptor watching, hiking, biking plus fishing, (license required), in the Little Schuylkill. The nights are dark with star lit skies.
We have a 1.5 acre bass pond on the farm for fishing, so bring your rod. Big bass in there!!
Your camp site is surrounded by woods and forest, fields and trees.
You are a two hour drive from center city Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from down town New York City. One hour from Harrisburg.

The White Squirrel Properties include a cabin, rental pavilion and camp site. The camp site sits at the top of a hill and provides a secluded flat site to pitch your tent or park your van/truck camper/truck top tent.
You will have this space to yourself.
The view is breathtaking - you have a gorgeous view of the Susquehanna River, numerous sets of mountain ranges, and you are surrounded by beautiful fields. There is a rustic picnic table and a more modern high top table set with an umbrella, for your use. We have also added 4 hammock chairs that you can relax in while enjoying a glass of wine. There is a wooden platform with a small structure on it. You can stand underneath the platform and it can provide some shelter, if needed. (The structure is being renovated for a new experience next summer.)
The pavilion is a short walk and has 2 bathrooms, a shower, and a kitchen. **The kitchen is only available if the pavilion is not being rented**. There is an additional fee to rent the kitchen. Secluded River View is a flat grassy space on the banks of the Conestoga River ideal for tent camping. Guests will enjoy 0.4 acre of grass to themselves surrounded by a creek, river and woods.
The site includes a fire ring, picnic table, hammock overlooking the river and swing for kids. A natural sandbar in the river provides a fun place for children to play, and explore (and throw rocks into the river as every kid seems to love to do). The river is normally slow enough to paddleboard, canoe, or kayak. Tubing is popular and there are several places that you can drive to and access upstream and float back to your campsite. Common fish species for fishing include bass, catfish and carp. It’s the perfect place to unplug and reconnect with nature!

There is some cell service, but it is limited. Can you hear me now? Be sure to save site information on your phone before you leave, in case you lose cell-service. This is not Alaska, but it is not a KOA campground, either. We recommend you print of bring a paper map. Your GPS will not bring you to the exact driveway location. You need to be personally observant.
This is the top of a mountain ridge. The access lane is steep, rocky, and has water erosion ditches you must drive over. Do not attempt this if you have a low profile car or a new/fragile camper. 4WD/AWD is highly recommended. Low profile and fancy cars are not recommended. This camping site is for those who want to live ruggedly like Lewis Clark. To see the water ditches you must drive over, go to YouTube and search "Wilbur's Shed - Blairs Mills", and it is the account of a cat with a white face.
This location is in a mix of farmland and mountain Appalachia. You will see common species such as chipmunks, squirrels turkey and deer. Many bird species. There are also porcupines, skunks, and black snakes around. You may also see black bear - it is rare, but possible. You are visiting wildlife species in their natural habitat. Please be self-aware of your own level comfort with wildlife. Once again, this is not an RVs park where you will socialize with a hundred other campers. This is primitive and isolated. This is an ideal camping spot if you want to escape from people.
Nearby is the Tuscarora Creek which is excellent for trout fishing. The Tuscarora has a small but lovely window for kayaking from mid-March through the end of May. Please contact the host if you would like help to plan some paddle logistics.
Rental through Hipcamp does not include hunting or the use of firearms, nor the use of dirt bikes and ATVs.

The Creekside retreat is part of the 17 acre 1842 estate and original farm which is perched on the now abandoned road which led to Fort Northkill a century ago. You are nearby to hiking on the Appalachian trail, biking or boating at Blue Marsh Lake and Beach or tubing on the Schuylkill River and riding or hiking trail, visit mountain Biking Meccas of : Mt Penn, Blue Marsh Lake, Swatara State Park and Trexlertown. The Reading Railroad Museum, Pagoda, Stokesay Castle , Hawk Mountain, Knoebels and Hershey Parks all located from 10 minutes to under an hour from your campsite. 3000 Blackberry Plants fruit each year as well as Peaches, Nectarines and Pears. Many Local Wineries nearby, Although the tents' label and description are calculated as 4 person, it seems as though 4 persons would be tight in this 8 x 8 interior and 2 or 2 and youngster would be more comfortable.. Goats roam free!

The camp sites on our farm are dry (for now) but we DO have a toilet that is cleaned regularly right by the sites. We have three leveled gravel RV/Camper spots, which are large compared to most campgrounds. The sites are pull through for most RVs and Trailers. We provide fire rings but no wood. Our farm is an operational farm with livestock and you will be camping right by our horse pasture. Our location is convenient. We are right off of I-81 and State route 22. Minutes from Hersheypark, Hollywood Casino and Penn National Race Course, The PA Renaissance Faire, as well as Ft. Indiantown Gap and Memorial Lake State Park. If you are a hiker, the Appalachian Trail is minutes from our farm. Our sites are easy access off the main road. We are in a friendly agricultural neighborhood with very little traffic or noise other than the light hum of I-81 in the distance. Wildlife is plentiful in our area and you can hike from our farm to Levitz Community Park (or drive if you prefer) to interact some great nature or have a picnic. We are an active dairy farm in the rolling hills of Berks County, Pennsylvania. We take awesome sunrises and great star gazing for granted around here! Campsites are a 10-minute walk from the farm where all are welcome to interact with the animals or take a try at milking a cow. After all, you need milk and cream for breakfast!Its a ten minute drive to Blue Marsh Lake for Fishing, Biking, Hiking and Swimming. Its a 5 minute walk up to our Dairy Farm where you can visit with the cows and baby calves. There is a very nice view of Weiser's mountain. This site doesn't have any extra shelter and is only for tent camping. There is a total of 4 listings in the one acre courtyard. The water source is shared by other people and also the port potty is shared with courtyard #3.

Our camper lot sits along the Juniata River, farmland, and the Appalachian Mountains. It is a small half acre lot in the country with power, water, and septic dump. It is a flat lot with grass and a large gravel area for an RV that overlooks the river. There is firewood on site for camp fires. Burnt Timbers Winery is one mile down the road along the river. This is a beautiful place to kick back and enjoy the beautiful scenery of central PA.

I positively ADORE this site. It gave me the thre things I wanted most - a spacious site, privacy, and not having to keep my dogs tied up every minute of the day. The site is enormous - I didn’t have the opportunity to measure it, but I estimate between ¼ and ⅓ of an acre. I was able to drive and turn around my car and large cargo trailer with my large tent already erected. It is triangular, bound on two sides by fields and the third by a cow pasture complete with said cows. This is a third-generation family farm - I briefly got to meet Harold, Mitchell’s father, who inherited the farm from HIS dad. I did not have a chance to interact with Heather, but Mitch was so helpful and patient. I had some personal issues with a very large camping tent that was poorly-made and was destroyed by high winds on my initial weekend and had to travel home to get my smaller more trustworthy setup. He constantly offered to help, and I felt assured that if I had really been desperate, help would have been there. The site is ringed by electrified cow fencing - if you have dogs, they might find it shocking - I know I did when i was erecting the flimsy tent that went blowing away like a tumble-weed and touched the fence and i grabbed a metal leg - it isnt painful, but you will definitely feel it. Note, though, this is an active farm - and it smells that way. I lived in Lancaster for many years, so to me, it smells like “home.” Not overpowering, but there.

This was our second time camping at White Squirrel and it was by far one of the best camping trips to date. White Squirrel has undergone a massive renovation since our first visit back in 2024. The camp site has been upgraded to having a full bathroom and hot/cold shower on site vs having to walk down to the pavilion. In addition, the platform structure has been fully finished into a composite deck lookout complete with lighting, Adirondack chairs, tables and electricity access. The views remain some of the best in all of Halifax, PA and truly a picture perfect camp site for both car and tent camping. Our group of 8 had no problem fitting on the site. Overall, I highly recommend White Squirrel and can't wait until our return!

We had such a lovely time on Andrew's land. The site was very much as described and had lots of helpful amenities. Notes to consider are that there is a busy campground across the Conestoga River, so you will see and hear other people, but they will be at a distance. Additionally, if you want to cook on the fire pit, you should bring your own grate as one was not provided. We absolutely loved tromping and swimming around in the river and it was so convenient to have the firewood right there and at a reasonable price. Andrew was helpful and attentive, but not overbearing. The sheep and corgi were adorable and made us smile. The bird watching at this site was phenomenal as well. We would absolutely return in the future if he would have us!

Susan’s campsites, particularly site two, is out of this world. It sits right on the river for easy access to fish or swim. The campsite was thoughtfully set-up and the communication from both Susan and Jen was outstanding. I will absolutely be going back.

Absolutely amazing campsite experience. When you arrive, you park and may meet the hosts—we met the wife, and she was incredibly sweet. She even explained that the solar-powered lights turn on once the sun goes down (which provided the perfect lighting—neither too bright nor too dark).
We loaded our belongings into a provided wagon and later made another trip for firewood. We paid for the $5 bundle, but there were no strict limits, which was really generous.
After a short walk down a gentle hill, you’re greeted by your campsite: a tent already set up, a treehouse-style tent, and the cutest outdoor area with a table for eating and comfortable chairs. The fire pit is amazing and sits right next to the water.
We cooked bagels over the fire in the morning and made dinner over it as well—such a perfect setup for a cozy getaway.
If you have a group of four, you could rent both treehouses. There’s enough privacy if you don’t know the other guests, but it’s also close enough to go as a group.
I can’t wait to go back when it gets warmer to use the swimming hole and explore the beautiful creek. The goats roam freely but mostly keep to themselves—we approached them and they were incredibly sweet.
Overall, the cutest little getaway.

We enjoyed the quiet property. .All the hookups at the Rise site worked well. We towed a 34 ft travel trailer with no issues. It was easily accessible from the highway but felt very private. The driveway was a little tight but we made it with no issues. Our dog enjoyed roaming the airfield on and off leash. We even spotted turkey and deer while relaxing outside. Overall, a peaceful spot to camp.

Trip #2 at Susan's place! We love it here. It's peaceful and beautiful. Beautiful walking paths, well stocked pond and a lovely river to fish and wade in.
