In 1990, Scott and Sue Miller purchased a 16-acre farm in Elizabethtown, Pa with the intentions of starting a select cut Christmas tree farm. 15,000 trees were purchased and planted on the farm. Six years later, the first trees were sold.

We have excellent cell reception on our farm.

Firewood available for purchase. We have a stone parking lot for RV campers. Two sites can also accommodate RV’s. We will reserve these sites.
Tent campers can set up in the trees and lanes. An outdoor portable toilet is available and water is available at an outside spigot. We are open April through

The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Note that we are always working to improve our slice of heaven, thus we do have tools, vehicles, and equipment stored around the farm that if not used now will be one day. We appreciate your understanding that some areas are used for our personal / farm storage. If you're not into looking at our farmware, there are a few nearby campgrounds.

We are within walking distance of Swatara State Park and close to the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to the local winery, bowling alley, pub/diner, and movie theater. Hershey Park is approximately a 30-minute drive from our location. Rausch Creek, Anthracite, and Reading off-road areas are also nearby.

Welcome to our perfect outdoor haven, a beautiful 150 acre farm, providing an extraordinary escape from the hustle and bustle of our modern world. Two of our exclusive campsites are located on the banks of the Little Schuylkill River, with the world-renowned Hawk Mountain Sanctuary boarding on the other side of the river. The third site, has an open view of Hawk Mountain and the farm, to say nothing of the full sky view.. Our private, exclusive campsites, easily encompassing about 5 acres at each site and surrounded by the 150 acre farm, are designed to take advantage of the natural surroundings. Here you will find yourself off grid and alone with nature. Imagine yourself pitching your tent along the river or on the hill top, viewing countless birds of prey and all types of wildlife with no other folks around, except for your people.
The location could not be better or more private. Our family for years have camped and played at these site, enjoying the river and night sounds. We are a working Christmas Tree farm as well. Truly private camping, not a commercial camp ground. Very few camping sites exist where you can just have your own space, but you may have it here. My family are stewards to this wonderful farm, and are thrilled to share it with you. We want you to chill and to find tranquility, to respect our sites and make memories that are treasured.

Because we are a tree farm, we cannot allow you to bring wood from other locations on to the farm. Wood is for sale here and we request a pre order so we can have it ready at your site. You may purchase through Hipcamp or directly from us.
All sites have a picnic table, a Hawk Shadow Out House, water to wash things, a preparation table and a good bundle of kindling to start off your camping experience. There Is a shovel, cooking grates, log benches and a neat campfire ring. Potable water is available at the farm and you may refill when needed.

This site is along the river. It is private and lovely.
You may park your car above the site and walk down to the river and camping area. Short, 50 yards, but a steepish walk. Pack in and out accordingly.
Very private, lots of space. It is perfect.
Campsite #2 (Dog Gone Site)
This site is also along the river.
It is private and has the same set up as site one.
Park your car on top of hill and walk on down. It is a lovely spot. Walk is about 50 yards down a steep hill. Pack accordingly.
Campsite #3 (High Site)
Site 3 is above the river and looks over Hawk Mountain and the farm.
It is private with beautiful views. Unreal full moon gazing.............
Sunrise, Sunset, Moon rise, Bird watching, all very visible from this site.
Car accessible, no walking to campsite required.
At all sites, different seasons bring different activities. Spring: Kayaking, fishing and hiking. Summer: hiking, fishing in the pond, cooling off in the swim hole. Fall: raptor watching, hiking, biking plus fishing, (license required), in the Little Schuylkill. The nights are dark with star lit skies.
We have a 1.5 acre bass pond on the farm for fishing, so bring your rod. Big bass in there!!
Your camp site is surrounded by woods and forest, fields and trees.
You are a two hour drive from center city Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from down town New York City. One hour from Harrisburg.

There is plenty of local produce, we can give you directions to our local farm stands. Fresh butchers are not far away.

Yes, you can drive to the area of the campsite, but no, you cannot drive down actual site at campsite #1 and #2. Parking at site 3, no walk required..

Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek stream is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. The land is mostly flat for walking to camping area. Fire rings are included. There is a port-a-potty close by. If you have your own portapotty, you must take the waste with you. We have no way to dispose of human waste. Absolutely no disposing of human waste on the property or in the trash. There will be a fine. At this time, I do not have fresh water, shower or electric. I have an extension cord for charging phones, etc...
We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. Racoons will steal food that is not put away or in coolers. Deer may walk past in the middle of the night. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are!
As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future.

There is some cell service, but it is limited. Can you hear me now? Be sure to save site information on your phone before you leave, in case you lose cell-service. This is not Alaska, but it is not a KOA campground, either. We recommend you print of bring a paper map. Your GPS will not bring you to the exact driveway location. You need to be personally observant.
This is the top of a mountain ridge. The access lane is steep, rocky, and has water erosion ditches you must drive over. Do not attempt this if you have a low profile car or a new/fragile camper. 4WD/AWD is highly recommended. Low profile and fancy cars are not recommended. This camping site is for those who want to live ruggedly like Lewis Clark. To see the water ditches you must drive over, go to YouTube and search "Wilbur's Shed - Blairs Mills", and it is the account of a cat with a white face.
This location is in a mix of farmland and mountain Appalachia. You will see common species such as chipmunks, squirrels turkey and deer. Many bird species. There are also porcupines, skunks, and black snakes around. You may also see black bear - it is rare, but possible. You are visiting wildlife species in their natural habitat. Please be self-aware of your own level comfort with wildlife. Once again, this is not an RVs park where you will socialize with a hundred other campers. This is primitive and isolated. This is an ideal camping spot if you want to escape from people.
Nearby is the Tuscarora Creek which is excellent for trout fishing. The Tuscarora has a small but lovely window for kayaking from mid-March through the end of May. Please contact the host if you would like help to plan some paddle logistics.
Rental through Hipcamp does not include hunting or the use of firearms, nor the use of dirt bikes and ATVs.

Our farm is an operational farm with livestock and you will be camping right by our horse pasture. Our location is convenient. We are right off of I-81 and State route 22. Minutes from Hersheypark, Hollywood Casino and Penn National Race Course, The PA Renaissance Faire, as well as Ft. Indiantown Gap and Memorial Lake State Park. If you are a hiker, the Appalachian Trail is minutes from our farm. Our sites are easy access off the main road. We are in a friendly agricultural neighborhood with very little traffic or noise other than the light hum of I-81 in the distance. Wildlife is plentiful in our area and you can hike from our farm to Levitz Community Park (or drive if you prefer) to interact some great nature or have a picnic. For the winter months we are closed, we reopen in march. The furthest we are open at any given moment is about six months. We close when hunting season comes in during the fall.
Description of camp:
This is not a glampsite! There are limited utilities here. No Drinking water, just water for the fire. There is a self serve firewood store, you may also forage dead wood. Here only one group may camp at a time. The campsite is a big level hilltop clearing surrounded by acres of woods. There is stone driveway that leads to the site that gets you back into the woods. The driveway is wide enough for trucks, trailers, vans, etc. Since the site is up high it gets a great breeze which helps on warm days and gets good cell service.
The campsite gets great sun and has shaded areas along the sides that make for good tent pitching. We have had people set up hammocks, tents, tarps, or camp in their vehicle. We provide a privy (outhouse), an outdoor showerroom/changing room, picnic tables, and a metal fire pit with grill rack that you can put in the fire pit if you wish to cook/grill over it. The woods are hilly so biking is not recommended.
Nearby Activities: A short drive from here will take you to Gettysburg, York, or Hanover. Codorus park offers great hiking and has a lake. There are many excellent restaurants and brewpubs nearby, including the award winning Warehouse Gourmet Bistro and Brewpub. For more information read our activities section to find out what other things we provide or have nearby that you can do.
Pricing:
We have a weeknight discount for the site which is 29 dollars (Sunday-Thurdsay nights). Friday night and Saturday night we charge 35 dollars. Any additional guests after five we charge 9.50 dollars per person. We allow up to 10 guests total.
Rules:
Extinguish camp fires that are unattended and to only make them in the designated fire pit, no noise past 9 o'clock, discharging of firearms and fireworks are prohibited, do not bring firewood (to prevent invasive bug spread), keep your pets attended/on a leash, clean up after your pets, no cutting down trees or damaging wildlife.

Our property features private creek access, a fire pit with tons of campfire wood, and a clean portapotty for guests to use. There is also seating areas at the creek for guests to enjoy. We have many deer who call our property home so you should expect to see them almost daily. We also have a variety of other animals including raccoons, farm cats, and tons of birds including woodpeckers. We do live in an agricultural area so at times, you may hear farm equipment or cows. Attractions very close by include Knoebels Amusement Park (voted #1 in the Country and still free admission), Numidia Raceway, and Weiser State Forest. There are plenty of farms and shops to check out including Rohrbach's Farm Store and agro tourism space, Catawissa Opera House, and Roaring Creek Provisions. Plus, we have tons of restaurants within a 20 minute drive.
In addition, Calm Creek has an onsite healing studio where you can book a personal energy healing session, Reiki, or card reading sessions.
We do live onsite and you may see us at times walking our golden retriever or having a campfire down at the creek. You do have your own personal space where you will be camping.

A natural sandbar in the river provides a fun place for children to play, and explore (and throw rocks into the river as every kid seems to love to do). The river is normally slow enough to paddleboard, canoe, or kayak. Tubing is popular and there are several places that you can drive to and access upstream and float back to your campsite. Common fish species for fishing include bass, catfish and carp. It’s the perfect place to unplug and reconnect with nature!
Firewood is available at the campsite for $5 per bundle.

There are 3 campsites and one cabin located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

A quaint working farm located in the heart of Adams County, PA. Located just minutes from Gettysburg Battlefield, Biglerville Apple Country, Codorus State Park, Pinchot State Park, and Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Also, not far from the Appalachian Trail, and points in Maryland. The small town of Hampton, PA is only a few miles away. There you will find a pizza/sandwich restaurant and a Donut/Ice Cream shop. The adjoining properties are also working farms, and you will be entranced by the surrounding peace and beauty. Almost every direction has a beautiful skyline. You can walked the mowed paths on the farm, fish in the pond, sit around the camp fire and listen to the quiet and the birds signing. If you like to bike or go for long walks the county roads don’t have a much traffic to contend with and are inviting for walks and biking. We offered carriage rides around the farm paths using our dartmoor ponies.

I booked very late and last minute just about an hour before arriving late at night and the process could not have gone any smoother. Nice little corner tucked away and some of the more curious cows came to watch me setup camp!

This was a nice end of summer weekend with just a few of us this time around. Spent most of the time swimming in the creek and eating around the fire. My friend brought his son for his first ever camping trip, and he had a great time. Next year we are going to check out the stargazer site in the fall; definitely looking forward to that! We had a wonderful stay at Creekside Treehouse Style Tent #1! The tent was very clean and comfortable, and I was pleasantly surprised to find cots inside. I’m used to more traditional backcountry camping, so this felt much closer to glamping. My 6-year-old daughter absolutely loved it!
The setting was beautiful and peaceful. We were lucky enough to have a good flow in the nearby creek after some rain, and the stars at night were incredible. The small LED lights around the top of the shelter and along the path to the outhouse added a really nice ambiance after dark.
I had read a few reviews mentioning noise, but that wasn’t an issue for us at all. The short walk to the site was actually a positive for me. It made the site feel more secluded and was about 5–10 minutes with a 6-year-old. The host provided carts, which made getting our belongings down to the site much easier. There was some poison ivy along the walk, but it was easy enough to avoid.
The two sites are relatively close together, but they still felt far enough apart to provide privacy. Our host was also very communicative and made sure everything was perfect for our stay.
The only downside for us was the outhouse. It was very clean and well maintained, but the seat is quite high, especially for my daughter. A small step would make it much easier to use.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would happily come back. My daughter is talking about going camping in the treehouse again!

The site was tucked between the corn field and cow pasture. A few of the cows would wander towards us with some curiosity, likely to make sure the shenanigans were kept in check. Mitchell and Heather were welcoming and helpful! Will definitely choose to stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Site 1 by the river! The campsite was beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. Having a water hookup, bathroom, and easy access to firewood made everything so convenient and completely hassle-free.
Our dogs also had an amazing time and loved being able to enjoy the site off-leash. It was the perfect place for them to explore and relax.

This was my first experience using hip camp and I’m really happy with my first trip. It was absolutely serene and peaceful. Privacy right on the river. I would absolutely come back here. The host was communicative and very nice. Never got to meet in person but that’s was perfectly fine since they made it extremely easy to get to the sites and get anything extra you may need. Some details about the area: The road in starts as a dirt road with a small farm stand and then turns into grassy road through a field, They do recommend 4WD but for anyone wondering I was able to easily drive my Toyota Camry to my site but if there had been a heavy rain it could possibly get too muddy for something as such. I stayed at site 2 which was extremely secluded and private. First thing to know is there is a steep walk down to the site. A wheelbarrow is provided but it wasn’t too bad getting down. It was more of a pain getting back up but I feel it is worth it for this site. Plenty of space with complete tree coverage. Benches, chairs, sink, table, clothesline, kindling, fire pit, all on site over looking a river. There is a short path leading you down to the shallow river where we spent all day fishing and catching bass and fall fish. We saw some crawfish around the rocks and once in while would see a neighbor floating down the river or taking a swim. All in all it is a great sight and I promise you can’t go wrong with choosing this for your trip.

Shelmar Acres was a very pleasant Hipcamp site located on a working farm. The site is private and peaceful, the perfect spot to unwind! Our hosts could not have been nicer or more helpful. Mitch took time out of his busy schedule to take us on a very interesting and educational tour of his farm. We will plan to come back with our trailer in the future. We definitely recommend this site to others.

Lovely little spot by the stream. Plenty of fire wood to last the night. Picnic table, inner tubes, lighters and fire starters available. The outhouse is super bright at night lit up with lights along the path to get to it. I loved hearing the cows and rooster in the morning. Bring bug spray, obviously it’s the woods but at night there really didn’t seem to be much mosquitoes, way more in the morning when packing up. Fair price and easy communication.
