Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek stream is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. The land is mostly flat for walking to camping area. Fire rings are included. There is a port-a-potty close by. If you have your own portapotty, you must take the waste with you. We have no way to dispose of human waste. Absolutely no disposing of human waste on the property or in the trash. There will be a fine. At this time, I do not have fresh water, shower or electric. I have an extension cord for charging phones, etc... We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. Racoons will steal food that is not put away or in coolers. Deer may walk past in the middle of the night. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future. The RV site is not along the stream. Irish Creek, which is a stream, is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. Tent Sites are a 5 minute walk from main house. The land is flat for walking to the camping area. A slight bit bumpy in a small area. I can manage just fine in flip flops but I did want to provide the information if anyone would be using a wheelchair. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. Tables can be provided. Just let us know ahead of time. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. Please let us know in advance if you would like to use them. Open fire cooking grills can be provided if needed. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time if you want to check in or out earlier or later. The area is pretty private for the most part. We are currently working on making it very private!! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby would be Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! This site is situated next to the stream on the other side of the parking area and other sites. It has a fire pit. There is no outhouse or electric on that side. The stream is low enough to walk through. I am currently working on a bridge. This site must be accessed by the road leading to the campground. It is only available when the land getting to the sites is dry enough to drive through. It is closer to the road than the other sites but I am working on some privacy screening or something similar. You will be able to see campers on the other side of the stream depending where you set up your camp.

Labor Day weekend camping at Mel’s place was awesome from start to finish! Property is close to a dirt track to watch some racing! We adventured out to go hit a winery and tubing nearby. Mel checked in each day to ask if we needed anything. We loved being on a dog friendly property. Her dog ‘bear’ and the kitties made it special. Our campsite was spacious and felt secluded with our own fire pit down a short step to the stream side. We enjoyed seeing the cows across the way and hearing the moo moos!! Thanks again Mel- we will return☺️

I camped in a tent at site number 10. I was right next to the cow pasture. Usually the cows were off in the distance but they did come up near the fence once. It was a nice location. There is about a 200-yard walk from the parking area to this site. It's an easy walk across a flat grass covered field. Mel hauled my gear out to the site for me when I arrived.

The grounds are cleaned and maintained well. Loved camping and waking up with the creek right there. Sweetest dog and Mel was beyond accommodating and helpful. Will for sure be back to check out some of the trails Mel had suggested.

Beautiful little spot along the creek! We saw so much wildlife from our campsite, highlights were the huge green heron that came right next to our tent and the pair of bald eagles nesting nearby.

I loved camping on Mel’s land! The creek was calming, the ground was nice and flat for our tent, and we had plenty of space. The views were beautiful and Mel was so nice. She gave us recommendations for the rest of our vacation. Her dog, Bear, and all the kitties were a welcomed bonus.

Property is beautiful and owner is very kind and accommodating. We were a last minute reservation so the property wasn’t exactly ready for us and our truck (more of a tent camping site) but Mel was very quick to make everything right and do what she could to accommodate us. The property is very open and tent sites are along the creek. Each has a fire pit and there is firewood available for purchase. There is a road close but the road noise is not disturbing at all. There is a cow farm close by and it’s that time of year that they are mooing all night (which was heart breaking) but I assume it’s just calving season right now (July) and would be fine other times of the year. We were the only ones at the property which was lovey, but if there were others they would be walking right through where we were anytime they needed anything from their vehicles or if they needed to use the porta potty. So, not private. We would definitely recommend for tent campers or groups of friends going together it’s a great spot in a beautiful area.

I stayed for one night at Mel's Mystic Hollow (June 2026). She was a fantastic, friendly host. The grounds were spacious, clean, and quiet. All the tent sites were along the bank of a gentle stream, but insects weren't a problem at all. Some sites were in a lush open field, and others were in a small nook of woods. A PA two-lane road runs by the grounds, but traffic stayed very light through the evening (maybe one car every 10-15 minutes). As the sun set, the holiday lights around the sites blended perfectly with the fireflies in the trees. I had a wonderful night and hope to return.

This is the best campsite we have stayed at by far! It was so relaxing sleeping right next to creek. There are also lots of places to hike nearby including the Appalachian trail. Mel really made the trip special by being such an amazing host! This will definitely be our go to place from now on.

Nice quite spot with a creek that our 6 year old and the whole family loved! Host was awesome and helped us get our stuff to the site. Good spot for the dogs as well they loved having access to the creek when they wanted it. Plenty of stores/restaurants near by incase you forget something. 10/10! We stayed at site #10 Plenty of level ground for your tent. Would recommend👍

The camp site was perfect!! The distance from the car to the site was nice so moving the camping equipment was a breeze. Mel was an awesome host!! She was accommodating and very welcoming!! She made sure my friends and I had everything we need to make our camping experience pleasant. The environment was quiet and scenery. Her pets( a dog and alot of cats)were friendly and wanted lots of attention. She is in the process of building and remodeling. I can't wait to come back when she has everything settle!!!

I had a great night camping at Mel's! She was so thoughtful and nice to talk to, helped me get set up for the night, and showed me around the property so I felt very safe and had a relaxing evening and night. It was lovely meeting Bear the dog and the cats on the property as well, such sweethearts. The campsite was a good size, was decorated for the upcoming holiday, and had plenty of privacy from the road. Beautiful clear starry skies. I'm glad I stayed at Mel's along my trip!

My mom and I had a blast with our rustic weekend camping trip at the end of October, one last weekend before it got too cold! This is classic rustic camping, less amenities = beautiful nature , in a beautiful meadow with a stream going around it! Mel, the hostess got us plenty of wood when we asked and checked in with us each night! She helped haul all our stuff to our site, so that part wasnt to bad. Just what I needed peace and quiet in nature! Thanks Mel!

Fantastic stay! This was a first-time camp for my 7 and 4 year old (total city kids), as well as my anxiety-ridden pup. So, my wife and I had some reason to be anxious about the trip. The campsite exceeded expectations, and Mel was super accommodating. Catching crawfish in the stream was a big hit for the kiddos. There was a large field adjacent to the site where our kids could run around, but enough tree cover at the site to get out of the sun as needed. Would stay again!

We loved staying at Mel’s land -- our experience exceeded expectations! Mel was attentive, quick to offer help, and a pleasure to chat with beyond just campsite details. We brought our dogs, and they were happiest playing near the stream. The campsite was spotless, with well-kept grass and a beautiful, polished feel. We definitely plan to come back, hopefully for a longer stay next time.
