Weekend Trip to Shambala at Mystic Hollow

It’s always so beautiful here. I arrived in the rain but next day was hot. The stream was cold and lovely to sit by. Make sure you bring bug repellant, mosquitoes and biting flies are everywhere after a rain. Site 10 is furthest away and private but has just one step down to the creek. Mel is always so helpful and kind, my dogs love the freedom to sprint through the field and roam as we walk. This is always my favorite camping spot.

Weekend Trip to The Creekside at Goat Hill

I enjoyed camping above the creek, fireflies display was amazing, and I was very glad that I didn’t have to pitch my tent just before the storm. The tent provided on the property, mattresses and little fan were great, sustained the storm and provided enough coolness for good night of sleep. It was easy to find the property, hosts were responsive and easy to communicate with, overall I had an excellent stay here. I would recommend it to everyone.

2 nights at Hardscrabble Hill

Excellent spot for some respite, bird watching and enjoying biplanes. Attention to those that are towing, we encountered a low height 9’ 4” and had to do a not so fun U-turn. It’s our own fault as we missed the sign but just wanted to give a heads up. The detour isn’t significant but the U-turn was:) The bridge was about 5-10 minutes from the site so just pay attention to your route.

The Chapel is a beautiful little getaway located next to Buck Run, a refreshing creek nestled in a serene landscape of horse farms and wooded areas. You can walk right into the Laurels, a stunning 500-acre preserve of land with lovely trails to run and walk. We can highly recommend staying here!

Weekend Trip to Horse Farm Camping

It was a lovely shaded spot. Thank goodness since we camped during a heat wave. 🥵 It was quite private, except for the horses who would meander down to check us out. There is water available and a porta john however it's a little under a quarter mile away. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again in cooler weather. 😊

Great experience. Road in campground was a little rough . Please put slow closing door mechanism on the porta potties. We have a bathroom in our rv but were next to a porta potty that was like a slamming round the clock banging

Great location for us, as we were heading to the NASCAR Race! We lucked out and got a shady spot for the afternoon but in the morning not so much! Left early to the race anyway! Nice having the river right there also! The host was very helpful when we had any questions.

Weekend Trip to GreenHills Camp

We loved camping here. Site #3 was gorgeous, well shaded, and tucked away from the other two campsites. The kids and dog were able to run free without us worrying about them wandering anywhere. It felt like a peaceful wooded oasis, plus had the benefit of an outhouse and hot shower for convenience. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely visit. The property is so peaceful with the sound of running water, birds, and frogs. The meadow we stayed was surrounded by a stream and large old trees. We had everything needed for the weekend.

Weekend Trip to Countryside Horse Farm

Loredana was a great host! She was very helpful guiding us to our site and helping us stay cool with homemade beet sorbet and providing ice when we needed it. We got to spend time with her and the horses petting and taking care of them one of the days. The campsite was absolutely beautiful and we had a great stay. I have nothing negative to say about Loredana or the camp site. We will definitely be coming back to spend more time with her and the horses for another relaxing weekend. There are also many places around the area if you need anything. Thank you so much for an amazing long weekend!

Weekend Trip to Pocono Point

Camping here was nice, didn’t get there early enough for a river spot but still had a great time. They have an access path to the river for campers on directly on it. They also had an awesome band playing by the pool free of charge to guest.

Weekend Trip to Peace & Quiet by the River!

We had a great time at Susan’s camp site #3. Very private—lots of space to yourself and no neighbors within eye or earshot (which was good because our 3 and 7 year olds were loud!). Susan and Jenn’s communication was excellent and checking in/out couldn’t have been easier. Great little hike on Hawk Mountain is a 5 minute drive away—fit for any level of hiker (though our 3 yo rode my shoulders part of the way). The river is a short walk away from site 3 and was great for a dip on a hot day.

Shambala at Mystic Hollow

Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek, which is a stream, is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. Site are a 5 minute walk from main house. The land is flat for walking to the camping area. A slight bit bumpy in a small area. I can manage just fine in flip flops but I did want to provide the information if anyone would be using a wheelchair. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. Tables can be provided. Just let us know ahead of time. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time if you want to check in or out earlier or later. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby would be Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife in the area. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, horses, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. There is a good chance of being visited by racoons at night if your food isn't stored away properly. Also, the deer may walk past in the middle of the night as well. We do also get wild turkey during different times of the year. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future. Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions. 420 friendly. LGBTQ friendly. If you are coming from out of state: Pennsylvania has a quarantine order for untreated firewood entering the state to protect its forests from invasive species. Firewood must be kiln dried, heat treated, fumigated, or USDA certified to enter the state. However, commercially imported wood that has been heat-treated according to USDA regulations typically doesn't fall under these bans.

It is private and has the same set up as site one. Park your car on top of hill and walk on down. It is a lovely spot. Walk is about 50 yards down a steep hill. Pack accordingly. Campsite #3 (High Site) Site 3 is above the river and looks over Hawk Mountain and the farm. It is private with beautiful views. Unreal full moon gazing............. Sunrise, Sunset, Moon rise, Bird watching, all very visible from this site. Car accessible, no walking to campsite required. At all sites, different seasons bring different activities. Spring: Kayaking, fishing and hiking. Summer: hiking, fishing in the pond, cooling off in the swim hole. Fall: raptor watching, hiking, biking plus fishing, (license required), in the Little Schuylkill. The nights are dark with star lit skies. We have a 1.5 acre bass pond on the farm for fishing, so bring your rod. Big bass in there!! Your camp site is surrounded by woods and forest, fields and trees. You are a two hour drive from center city Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from down town New York City. One hour from Harrisburg. What to do here? Plenty! Hiking! Open from April 1st to October 30th, our campground is conveniently located near the Park’s Main Office at 2144 Snyder Road, Green Lane, PA 18054. Please note that our campground maintains a strict no alcohol and no smoking policy, including vaporizers. Each campsite accommodates a maximum of six people and is equipped with essential amenities such as a fire ring, grill, and picnic table. However, please be aware that there are no electric or water hookups, and no RV dump station is available. The maximum RV length allowed is 25 feet. For your convenience, a bathhouse with showers and restrooms is located at Deep Creek Campground. We also offer a designated area for non-profit organized groups, which is available by reservation only. Guests are encouraged to bring their own drinking water and firewood to enhance their camping experience. Our campground is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friends along! Just remember to keep them on a leash and clean up after them. To ensure a peaceful environment, we limit stays to a maximum of 14 nights per camping season, with no monthly camping options
