Cabin by the Creek
This is our third visit to Fern Rock, and it feels like coming home. Sandy and John treat us like family, and we couldn’t ask for a better place to relax, recharge, and reset.

Exactly the place I needed for a quiet few days to unplug and rest. Great hospitality, a cozy and well maintained cabin, a peaceful place. I'd happily stay again.

We loved Sandy and John's place. The well curated cabin was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed exploring their landscaped oasis... kayaking on the creek, checking in with the goats, nature walks with magical finding along the way.... And the visits from Chicory Willow.
Great experience all around. Highly recommend.

This is our third time visiting Fern Rock and we hope to return each season, fingers crossed. There is clearly so much love and care expressed in the Cabin by the Creek and in all the little nooks around the property. We thank John and Sandy for another warm welcome and truly magical stay in their neck of the woods.

I booked this for myself for a much needed recharge. I was ready to leave when my 15 y/o old told me she wanted to stay 1 night. They kindly accommodated the last minute change and made up the 2nd bed before we arrived. We pulled up and John and Sandy promptly came to welcome us to their place. They showed us around the cabin and let us know how to use everything. They made me feel so welcome and they seemed so happy to let us into their world there. It was the nicest check-in experience i've had anywhere. I loved the Haiku photo album and the journal for guests to write in. The very first entry was 4/29/13 (my daughter's 2nd bday) and the last one was 3/29/26 (my son's 12th bday)! I wish i had written in it bc i have a lot to say. Next time! When we met the goats was when my daughter decided she couldn't leave and ended up staying till Tues- i drove her to school till then. Holly and Hazel are cuties. Hazel liked the spotlight and when you scratched her in the right spot, her tail would wag away! The labyrinth is gorgeous- a beautiful work of art on it's own with a purpose I never knew! I enjoyed learning about them from the provided reading material. I did chat with Sandy and I decided that she is the coolest person in the world. She has great love for and intuitive wisdom of the earth, and she radiates love and acceptance. Hopefully I didn't scare her when I told her I want to become best friends.😆

The cabin was wonderful, had everything we needed a very comfortable and peaceful getaway. The space surrounding the cabin was so lovely. We especially loved the chairs by the water and the kayaks. Thank you for your hospitality! We will definitely visit again!

I loved everything about Fernrock. I woke to the beautiful winding brook and the mossy rocks, did yoga with the sunrise. Everything was so intentional and lovingly infused on the property. I was at a workshop during the day and Sandy and John were so kind to make a fire for me to arrive back to. A beautiful space to be in nature.

Lovely place for a peaceful retreat for a chilly November weekend, even with a 5 year old. Sandy and John were such kind and welcoming hosts. The red cabin is an updated church camp cabin, with electric radiators and a modern wood stove for heat, a pretty cool composting toilet (indoor), sink+shower, simple kitchen with induction stove, and 2 bedrooms with linens and towels. Our 5-year old loved the tree house, fairy house, labyrinth, meditation stations, boat and Pooh's house and library. And we got really good at shuffleboard! Would definitely recommend and would like to go back.

Cozy cottage on a peaceful, beautifully maintained property with generous hosts. Highly recommended. Hiking nearby at Nockamixon State Park was fun as well.

Sandy and John could NOT have been better hosts. They are wonderful, lovely people who welcome folks onto their property to explore and reconnect with nature. The cabins are exactly what you need for a short stay. The property is magical with hidden gems all throughout. If you happen to wake up at 3am like I do, you cannot hear the highway. At a certain point just before dawn, the highway and crickets are silent. It is truly one of the most peaceful places just outside of Philadelphia. We stayed with family friends who were staying in one of the two cabins on the property. Plan a magical retreat with your family or loved ones and let Sandy and John teach you how to reconnect with nature!

Cabin by the Creek
We stayed in the cabin by the water with our 3 month old and it was lovely. Very peaceful with great trails on the property and awesome animals. Sandy and John were very nice.

This was our second time starting at Fern Rock. We stayed in the cabin by the creek this time and it was just as beautiful and calming as our last visit. Is a great place to visit with the kids and have fun in the woods, following the creek, and playing in the huge yard. Of course, we can’t forget about the labyrinth/maze; it’s my little guys highlight and we can spend hours entertained there. It’s always a good time and nice knowing that Sandy and John are so close by.

A very tranquil setting for peace & relaxation. Sandy & John have put a lot of thought into their property which they graciously share with others. I loved sitting in the screened in porch surrounded by nature. The prayer walk & labyrinth were special touches.

Sandy and John put thought into absolutely every aspect of this hipcamp. It was not just a place to stay, but a whole experience. The mossy landscape by the creek, the privacy, the craftsmanship of the treehouse, the offerings of the meditation walk, the little details in the home, the chickens roaming around, floating down the stream — we felt like we were living in a fairy tale. Moreover, it can be very expensive to experience this type of thing these days, and we appreciated that the cost of the stay was reasonable. Thank you for offering a part of your world to others!

It was so peaceful. The remarkable thing was that even though it was really hot in Philadelphia, only an hour away, it was cool enough at Fern rock to need a little blanket in the evening. The cabin was spotless and in incredibly good shape.
Sitting on the screen porch was like looking through lovely picture windows. Sandy and John were readily available but not intrusive in anyway.

We had an incredible trip. Very private, very moving. There's lots of energy on this property.
We didn't have a long stay so we didn't socialize too much but Sandy and John were incredibly kind and welcoming when we did need to talk.

I definitely recommend this place to anyone willing to enjoy nature. We went hiking along the creek and it was a nice walk. We enjoyed getting our footwear full of mud and we were also able to catch and release river crabs. That's an amazing experience. Sandy is such a sweet host. We me John when we were leaving because he is always working. Fire pit in the labyrinth is such a great experience.

My partner and I spent a weekend at Fern Rock and had a beautiful and healing experience. John and Sandy have done an incredible job of creating spaces of rest and contemplation throughout the property and the cabin was cozy and so well equipped for any of our cooking and sleeping needs. The kayaks and paddle boards were a treat. Plus they have a great collection of nature loving books. John and Sandy are lovely hosts and a delight to interact with. I will be recommending Fern Rock to friends and plan on returning again!

We are a family from Ukraine, outdoor recreation is an integral part of our lives, we thank God that we were lucky enough to visit this place, every part of which is made with love and care. Sandy and John are incredibly friendly and sincere people (God bless you). The house has its own history and you will feel it, it is a place of recharge and renewal! We will come here again and again!
