We tried so many camping sites in the past elsewhere and this one was our favorite! Absolutely magical place and there was nothing else we needed. Site 3 is surrounded by trees,has a creek literally couple feet away,gorgeous bigger creek further on and fantastic peace! We had friends camping for the first time as family and we were so happy we could give them such good quality experience. This is a hidden gem and we will be coming back every year from now on, more researching and dissapointments!

Nicely maintained site, awesome little walk down the pavilion where there was a toilet, water, and a nice spot to wade in the stream.

3 nights at Fairview Farms Airfield

Had a technical issue but Bill made everything work out so perfectly. This is our second year to their camp and we will be back. Views from the top of the airfield are spectacular! So many awesome trails and water nearby for activities.

I love coming here, it was my 3rd year in a row! Every site is beautiful, Scott & Christina are amazing hosts. They have everything you forget & it’s so peaceful! Cannot wait to go next year! My kids & dogs love it here!

4 nights at Fairview Farms Airfield

So child and dog friendly! We have 3 children and 2 dogs and it was as easy as being home. It was a safe place for them to explore, lots of walking opportunities and are well stocked with amenities. The washing machine was a lifesaver! Beds are SO comfy, sofa is luxurious, TV was a win for quiet time. Their dogs are fenced in but so well behaved around ours! Views are beautiful. Ticks are a non issue for the most part (compared to Long Island 🥲). There are campers dotted around the property but everyone has their own space and privacy. The property itself is a beautiful walk and if you have kids/dogs and want somewhere to go play, we highly recommend going to the Fossil Site (5 min drive to Swopes Valley Trail/15 min walk to site) and climbing up behind the site to a beautiful creek that they will spend HOURS playing in. Take water shoes or extra shoes to do this! We also loved Frog Valley Environmental Trail and Sweet Arrow State park. Both are child and dog friendly (on leash). For food we went to Buddys Log Cabin, Around the Bend, Pine Grove Diner and Mooses LZ, all of which were great. We have no complaints and had a wonderful time. Thank you so much!

4 nights at River Hills Above the Allegheny

My partner and I spent 5 days on the property. It was beyond perfect, the view, the noises, everything. When we arrived, there was one other couple staying at one of the other sites, but left later that day. We didn't hear any other person/group while we were there. The site was exactly as described and as the pictures showed. Waking up to the foggy valley and beautiful skies wowed us every time. At night, the skies lit up the sky, that you could see between the trees and over the valley. There was a family of raccoons that visited us every night, trying to get some of our desserts from the fire. We had to scare them away a few times, but they did seem a little used to people and needed an extra yell to send them away. The site is well sheltered by the trees, allowing some sun in, but overall keeping you protected from the heat. The walk to the waterfall is a bit slippery, but so quick and well worth the trek. The waterfall itself is an experience on itself, and had some moments of Zen and relaxation just watching and listening to the water. The Town of Parker is about a 20 minute drive that we made a few times for ice. There is some cell service at the site, but we left our phones off most of the time and just recharged our minds and bodies. I CAN NOT recommend this site enough. Everything about it was above any of my expectations. Chris was attentive in checking in and seeing if we needed more firewood when another guest left and told him it was all gone.

Met Bill last night, went on a ride around the property and picked a nice spot to stay on top of the runway. Pretty easy going guy, property clean, quiet, fields cut, water, bathroom, fire rings, etc. Anything you could need for a night or more.

We had an amazIng visit. Bill was so helpful and responded to our needs immediately. He was there to greet us the moment we arrived. The property is so spacious, peaceful and quiet. Our dogs had a blast on their walks. Bill gave us a tour of their property. We only wished we had more free time to enjoy all it had to offer. We will definitely stay here again. This is a great spot, right beside the water. You are near a bridge & cars do drive by but its not busy & the trees create great privacy. Shade, fire pit & port-a-john were great. Super responsive host & easy to find.

2 nights at River Hills Above the Allegheny

What a fantastic campsite! My kids thought it was really cool to have to drive up and down the hills and back roads to get there. The 110 outlets made it so easy for me to plug-in what we needed to enjoy our camp. We absolutely loved going down to the creek and exploring it together. The scenery here is simply beautiful. In 24 hours we saw a fox and eagle and three deer! All of us kind of freaked out when we saw the fox because we none of us have ever seen one.

The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes. We purchased our dream homestead in 2020, and we would love to share it with others as we build it to become bountiful and as self-sustaining as possible. It is not in the middle of nowhere....it's in the middle of everywhere! Learn more about this land: Camp next to a peaceful trickling creek just outside Phoenixville and Kimberton. We are a suburban oasis, surrounded by a little bit of everything. Our homestead has plenty of activity including kids, dogs, and chickens, bees and goats! We have a fully wooded area available to explore across the creek, and weather dependent- the creek is a great place to stay cool. You'll see lots of growing fruit trees in our developing orchard and we are happy to share our vision for this beautiful land! We have two campsites available for you to choose between for your stay. Both sites are along the creek, however, one has a view of some nearby houses and is a short walk to the parking spot [Creekside]. The other site is more secluded, past the tree line, but a further walk from where you are able to park. [Hillside] If needed, we are happy to lend you a wagon to haul your gear. Please let us know if you have questions and your preference of site. We have a cabin-like bathroom and partial kitchen you will have access to during your stay. We always have cold water available for purchase in the fridge. There is trail access easily accessible from our home (the closest is approximately 1 mile), for paved or natural trail exploration. We are are a great stopping point for cyclists enjoying the area. It's a short drive to downtown Phoenixville with some of the best breweries around. Phoenixville is home to a great farmers market on Saturday mornings and numerous festivals. Also, close-by is the lovely quaint village of Kimberton, home of the best organic grocery store and many opportunities for hiking and small farms.

Ferns in the Forest

Learn more about this land: This wooded area is 5 miles away from the Ohiopyle State Park whitewater launch area and GAP bike trail. We are less than 9 miles from Frank Lloyd Wright's Classic Fallingwater and about 8 miles from Kentuck Knob one of the last resident homes he designed (both are open for tours). Fort Necessity National Battlefield is 5 miles away. There are numerous native trout streams in the area. Youghiogheny Reservoir is 7 miles away for fishing, boat rentals, and water-sports. The Fern House is the primary camp cabin on the property. Although if someone would want to park a "self contained" camper or small RV on the property we would permit the unit to occupy the area in front of the driveway just pass the entrance gate. It is not within the ferns and is next to the road. There is an electrical outlet available at this small RV or van camper site. We are "nice pet" friendly. We have a mountain spring (when the spring is running) up the trail road (450 feet away). The ferns will normally be in full glory by the end of May to the beginning of October and are amazing, covering the forest floor. Deer, bear, wild turkey, fox, chipmunks, squirrels and many woodland birds abound the property especially owls. A picnic table, fire ring and firewood is available on the property. Free WiFi on the property as long as the plant life is not too thick! There is a mile hiking loop right on the property and many challenging trails in the area, including the starting point for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail.

Sleep like a log in our one-room charming cabin on a small private lake lot with non-motor boats only. Little Elk Lake is 43 acres. Queen bed with linens provided, plus 2 adult cots with pads and sleeping bags. Rowboat plus 1 youth kayak, two adult kayaks and a canoe are available for your use, and we have life jackets in many sizes. We are sorry but the pontoon boat cannot be used by guests. The fishing is EXCELLENT and bring your binoculars - BALD EAGLES frequent the lake! We want you to have so much FUN during your visit, but we are not a party spot. Two of our exclusive campsites are located on the banks of the Little Schuylkill River, with the world-renowned Hawk Mountain Sanctuary boarding on the other side of the river. The third site, has an open view of Hawk Mountain and the farm, to say nothing of the full sky view.. Our private, exclusive campsites, easily encompassing about 5 acres at each site and surrounded by the 150 acre farm, are designed to take advantage of the natural surroundings. Imagine yourself pitching your tent along the river or on the hill top, viewing countless birds of prey and all types of wildlife with no other folks around, except for your people. All sites have a picnic table, a Hawk Shadow Out House, water to wash things, a preparation table and a good bundle of kindling to start off your camping experience. Campsite #1 (Lean To Site) This site is along the river. It is private and lovely. You may park your car above the site and walk down to the river and camping area. Short, 50 yards, but a steepish walk. Pack in and out accordingly. Very private, lots of space. It is perfect. Campsite #2 (Dog Gone Site) This site is also along the river. It is private and has the same set up as site one. Park your car on top of hill and walk on down. It is a lovely spot. Walk is about 50 yards down a steep hill. Pack accordingly. Campsite #3 (High Site) Site 3 is above the river and looks over Hawk Mountain and the farm. It is private with beautiful views. Unreal full moon gazing............. Sunrise, Sunset, Moon rise, Bird watching, all very visible from this site. Car accessible, no walking to campsite required. At all sites, different seasons bring different activities. Spring: Kayaking, fishing and hiking. Summer: hiking, fishing in the pond, cooling off in the swim hole. Fall: raptor watching, hiking, biking plus fishing, (license required), in the Little Schuylkill. The nights are dark with star lit skies. We have a 1.5 acre bass pond on the farm for fishing, so bring your rod. Big bass in there!! Your camp site is surrounded by woods and forest, fields and trees. You are a two hour drive from center city Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from down town New York City. One hour from Harrisburg. What to do here? Plenty! Hiking! Originally opened as a family campground owned and operated by Denis and Kay Snyder in 1964. Bald Eagle Campsite has been owned and operated by the Snyder family to this day! Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer. We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities. Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups. On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards. For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent. Campers must be less than 25 feet. Generators are not allowed. Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm. There are no water hookups. Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons. Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350. Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them. Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. With 4 campsites on 75 acres, guests have ample privacy and space, with the freedom to roam this posted property that has no homes on it. Perched high above the Allegheny there are several spots to take in the wonderful views. There is also a waterfall with a 3’ deep pool below it. Great for splashing with kids or dogs, guests love exploring the creek bottom and making new discoveries. The more curious guests sometimes find the ruins of the original homestead, chimney and spring house that sit upstream. The property is teeming with wildlife. Birds and tree frogs will be the soundtrack of your visit, and often deer will be seen nosing along the outskirts of your site in the mornings and evenings. Turkey, bald eagles and even bear are occasionally spotted, so be prepared to secure your food and trash at night. For those coming to disconnect, you have found the right place. But if cell service is needed, you will have enough to get texts out and depending what site you booked, calls and internet as well. For those who seek an electrical outlet AND and EV charger, we have a site for you! We also have a site with a large canvas tent already set up for your convenience. Pitch your tent along Irish Creek under a canopy of Maples at Mystic Hollow. Irish Creek, which is a stream, is a tributary to the Schuylkill River. Site are a 5 minute walk from main house. The land is flat for walking to the camping area. A slight bit bumpy in a small area. I can manage just fine in flip flops but I did want to provide the information if anyone would be using a wheelchair. There is also a small bridge that goes over a small strip of wetlands. Fire rings are included. Tables can be provided. Just let us know ahead of time. I can haul your gear to your spot with tractor and wagon if needed. There is a port-a-potty close by. We are flexible with check-in and check-out times if we are not at full capacity. Just let us know ahead of time if you want to check in or out earlier or later. We allow dogs. They must be on leashes unless they are friendly and play well with others. You must clean up your dog's poop! No exceptions! We are 5 minutes from the Schuylkill River. 10 minutes from Ontelaunee Lake. 15 minutes from Blue Marsh. 15 minutes from the Appalacian Trail. Trail heads nearby would be Port Clinton, Hamburg, Bernville, Bethel, Blue Rocks, Kempton... 20 minutes from Hawk Mountain. We are an hour from Jim Thorpe. There are several wineries in the area including Long Trout Winery where wine is cool and hippy chicks rule! My favorite! Lots of wildlife in the area. Expect to hear owls, blue heron, cows, goats, chickens, horses, hawks, eagles, dogs, racoons and coyotes. There is a good chance of being visited by racoons at night if your food isn't stored away properly. Also, the deer may walk past in the middle of the night as well. We do also get wild turkey during different times of the year. Hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, mountain biking, bike trails, etc... all nearby. Sadly there are no fish in Irish Creek worth catching. The Crayfish are! As with any land situated along a water source, there is always a possibility of flooding. We flood maybe once a year, once every other year. If that should happen, we will assist in hauling gear. There is higher ground for tents to be set up if need be. There will also be rooms available to rent in the near future. Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions. 420 friendly. LGBTQ friendly. If you are coming from out of state: Pennsylvania has a quarantine order for untreated firewood entering the state to protect its forests from invasive species. Firewood must be kiln dried, heat treated, fumigated, or USDA certified to enter the state. Our campground features over 100 campsites, perfectly situated along both the bayside and lakeside beaches, providing you with stunning views and easy access to the water. Located conveniently between Presque Isle State Park and Waldameer Amusement Park and Water World, Sara’s Campground offers a variety of outdoor activities. Presque Isle boasts over 12 miles of public beaches, bike paths, and nature trails, making it an ideal spot for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. Tent camping at Sara’s is a first-come, first-served experience, available in both the beach and pet-friendly bayside areas. Please note that reservations are not accepted, as the dynamic nature of Lake Erie means availability can change rapidly. To check conditions and availability, we encourage you to call the night before your visit. Our waiting list opens at 7:30 AM, and you must be present to sign up with your tent ready.
