Welcome to Firefly Aces where our land offers beautiful views of the valley and "Enchanted Mountains" by day and star filled skies at night. If you look long enough, you may even see some shooting stars. The property is 93 acres and offers well manicured hiking trails that can even be used for Mountain Biking enthusiasts. Wild animals such as deer, raccoons, fox, owls, hawks, humming birds, bald eagles and more have made the land their home. Fireflies tend to take over in the summer months, its a beautiful thing to see. It's the perfect place to get away and enjoy nature all while being close to restaurants and downtown Olean if needed. Enjoy cooking on our rustic fire pits or light a fire to just enjoy the crackling sounds and warmth at night. A safe place for kids to run around, enjoy family time and the simple pleasures Mother Nature has to offer. It's perfect for anyone who just wants to get away and immerse themselves in the country. We have 2 camp sites ready right now both come with a fire pit. One is more secluded which is campsite #2 and the one with the valley view is campsite #1. Showers are seasonal. The last day for shower use is Oct 15th. You’re more than welcome to bring your own portable shower hook up and use the shower house for privacy. We apologize for any inconvenience. You will need to have a cigarette lighter access to use the shower to power the pump. We recommend bringing flashlights as our property is solar powered and there is no electric on the property. On low sunny days, solar lights may not last as long into the evening. On rainy days the property can be very muddy and access to the top of the hill to the sites would be best accessed with a 4WD vehicle as well as winter time with snow on the ground. If you'd like to charge your phone we advise you to bring back up battery packs as there is now electric hook ups on site. The most private sites are Cloud 9, Bunny Pit and Lilou's Landing. The cottage is located down by the main house and not at the top of the hill. Pets are welcome, please clean up after your dog. * No firearms or explosive devices of any kind are allowed on the property.

Just outside the quaint town of Austin sits a vivid reminder of one of Pennsylvania's worst disasters – the Austin Flood. In 1909, the dam was constructed on Freeman Run to power the Bayless Papermill downstream. Many wondered if the dam was safe. On September 30, 1911, Austin found out. Poor construction, coupled with torrential rain, resulted in the dam's collapse. Nearly 400 million gallons of water were released, destroying everything for 8 miles. At least 78 people perished in the tragedy. It was the second worst flood disaster in Pennsylvania's history and sixth worst dam failure in U.S. history. The tragedy sparked new legislation to improve dam safety, and the Austin Dam was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The ruins of the dam still stand, surrounded by a 76-acre park, as a tribute to the lives lost in the Austin Flood. Don't miss one of Potter County's best kept secrets!

16. Secluded Overlook Solo Campsite

This stand-alone secluded campsite sits in the woods above an extremely unique stretch of French Creek (2022 PA River of the Year!) Facing northwest over the valley, it offers stunning sunset views. The Union City Dam floods the valley during wet periods making a beautiful (though temporary) lakefront campsite before slowly draining away. 100s of acres of protected land create a wildlife haven. Centrally located between 2 small towns with many local attractions. Union City Dam: Situated on the high-side of the Union City Dam, a dry-bed flood control dam. During snowmelt or rainy spells, the dam fills and floods the entire valley. During dry spells, French Creek appears as any other creek. At full flood, it becomes a breathtaking lake front campsite. Unfortunately, these natural events only occur a few weeks out of the year and are fairly unpredictable, but provide a truly spectacular setting (compare the high-water vs low-water views in the photos). Wildlife: At the end of a dead-end dirt road, adjacent to 100's of acres of federal protected land, and within sight of a number of agriculture fields, there is an abundance of wildlife. For over 20 years, an active eagle’s nest has been located 1 mile north providing amazing opportunities to see either adult or juvenile eagles flying over French Creek hunting for fish. Deer can be seen early morning and late evening in the fields, and frequently crossing the valley. All types of waterfowl flock the reservoir lake when flooded. I've personally witnessed up to 1000 geese and 100’s of wild swans at once. Local Attractions: The small towns of Union City and Waterford have gas stations, grocery stores, great local dining options, and more. The Union City Dam, less than 1.5 miles down the road, provides walking, biking, scenic driving, and picnic opportunities. 40-min drive to Presque Isle State Park, one of the only free state parks left in the US. 15-min drive to Port Farms a farm-themed amusement park for the kids and Poverty Knob Brewery for the adults. DISCLAIMER: There is an active gravel pit to the North of the campsite. During weekdays from about 7 AM-5 PM, you will likely hear and possibly see some activity from the gravel pit. Security cameras may be in use at the driveway entrance.

Learn more about this land: Our property is located near the tiny village of Glen Hazel, our unique area offers close proximity to many watersports and hiking opportunities. Visitors can watch bald eagles and osprey as you enjoy kayaking, fishing and nature at this primitive campsite. We have just one site. Our campsite is very private and includes a fire ring, a picnic table a trash can and a swing. Parking is available right at the site. It's just a 2 minute walk to the northernmost kayak launch on the East Branch of the Clarion River. Here you will find a public porta potty for use during the summer only. Several small jack dams will make your kayak experience a delight. We have a private 1 acre pond just a stones throw from the campsite that visitors can enjoy. Fishing is permitted in the pond, no license needed. Fly fishermen will enjoy the thrill of catching native and stocked trout in the most beautiful section on the East Branch of the Clarion River (PA fishing license and trout stamp required). Nearby is Bendigo State Park that offers free use of picnic areas and swimming in an immaculately kept pool. Just 1 1/2 miles away is the Dam Inn where you can stop for a beer or for a nice dinner on the deck. Adjacent to the campsite is State Gamelands #25. This enormous tract of public land is open to all for hiking, biking and fishing the pristine native trout streams, including Middle Fork, Crooked Creek and several others. Only a 3 mile drive will land you at the East Branch Lake, a seven mile long lake where you can put your boat in and fish, kayak or water ski to your hearts content.

My partner and I loved this cute cabin , right next to Lake Erie! It’s a great size, very clean, and had all the amenities we needed for the start of our cross country trip back home , including a buddy heater for the cold night. Thank you so much for the extra blankets too! We were perfectly snug. We wish we could have spent another night. We got gluten free pizza at Villaggio Italiano, which is right down the road — it was delicious! Couldn’t recommend this spot more!

My pup and I loved our overnight stay. The property is beautiful and quiet. We woke in the morning to a herd of deer walking through camp. Having electric available was a big bonus. We were car camping and being able to have a car heater to keep us cozy was perfect on a 30 degree night. My pup loved being able to be off leash.

We absolutely love this campsite! This is not the first time we've been here, and certainly won't be the last! This site is absolutely perfect for our family and dog! It is private, quiet, beautiful and clean! Sitting at the campfire and staring into the woods is life-giving. Our kids and dog can run around without any worry. The electric and water hook ups are so nice to have as well! There are several picnic tables to use and an awesome fire ring. Pulling in and out are super easy because of the nicely graveled area! Don't let the road coming in discourage you...this is no indication of what you'll experience once you're there! We thank Josh and his family for allowing us to use the site again to end our 2025 camping season (we began with them too!) We will certainly be back in 2026!

Great spot! Directions that were sent were perfect. Sites were clearly marked, which was really appreciated since we pulled in at night in the rain. Firewood was delivered to our site and under a tarp (again, super appreciated) We had a great stay. Secluded, we didn’t have to speak to anyone the whole 2 days we were there. Stars were beautiful at night. Also, had decent cell service, which I was surprised by. No frills, just nature.

Easy access to hikes to the old paper mill and Austin Dam right from our campsite. Porta-potty was right nearby and sparkly clean. And we had full cell service too (T-Mobile).

This stand-alone secluded campsite sits in the woods above an extremely unique stretch of French Creek (2022 PA River of the Year!) Facing northwest over the valley, it offers stunning sunset views. The Union City Dam floods the valley during wet periods making a beautiful (though temporary) lakefront campsite before slowly draining away. 100s of acres of protected land create a wildlife haven. Centrally located between 2 small towns with many local attractions. Union City Dam: Situated on the high-side of the Union City Dam, a dry-bed flood control dam. During snowmelt or rainy spells, the dam fills and floods the entire valley. During dry spells, French Creek appears as any other creek. At full flood, it becomes a breathtaking lake front campsite. Unfortunately, these natural events only occur a few weeks out of the year and are fairly unpredictable, but provide a truly spectacular setting (compare the high-water vs low-water views in the photos). Wildlife: At the end of a dead-end dirt road, adjacent to 100's of acres of federal protected land, and within sight of a number of agriculture fields, there is an abundance of wildlife. For over 20 years, an active eagle’s nest has been located 1 mile north providing amazing opportunities to see either adult or juvenile eagles flying over French Creek hunting for fish. Deer can be seen early morning and late evening in the fields, and frequently crossing the valley. All types of waterfowl flock the reservoir lake when flooded. I've personally witnessed up to 1000 geese and 100’s of wild swans at once. Local Attractions: The small towns of Union City and Waterford have gas stations, grocery stores, great local dining options, and more. The Union City Dam, less than 1.5 miles down the road, provides walking, biking, scenic driving, and picnic opportunities. 40-min drive to Presque Isle State Park, one of the only free state parks left in the US. 15-min drive to Port Farms a farm-themed amusement park for the kids and Poverty Knob Brewery for the adults. DISCLAIMER: There is an active gravel pit to the North of the campsite. During weekdays from about 7 AM-5 PM, you will likely hear and possibly see some activity from the gravel pit. Learn more about this land: Our property is located near the tiny village of Glen Hazel, our unique area offers close proximity to many watersports and hiking opportunities. Visitors can watch bald eagles and osprey as you enjoy kayaking, fishing and nature at this primitive campsite. We have just one site. Our campsite is very private and includes a fire ring, a picnic table a trash can and a swing. Parking is available right at the site. It's just a 2 minute walk to the northernmost kayak launch on the East Branch of the Clarion River. Here you will find a public porta potty for use during the summer only. Several small jack dams will make your kayak experience a delight. We have a private 1 acre pond just a stones throw from the campsite that visitors can enjoy. Fishing is permitted in the pond, no license needed. Fly fishermen will enjoy the thrill of catching native and stocked trout in the most beautiful section on the East Branch of the Clarion River (PA fishing license and trout stamp required). Nearby is Bendigo State Park that offers free use of picnic areas and swimming in an immaculately kept pool. Just 1 1/2 miles away is the Dam Inn where you can stop for a beer or for a nice dinner on the deck. Adjacent to the campsite is State Gamelands #25. This enormous tract of public land is open to all for hiking, biking and fishing the pristine native trout streams, including Middle Fork, Crooked Creek and several others. Only a 3 mile drive will land you at the East Branch Lake, a seven mile long lake where you can put your boat in and fish, kayak or water ski to your hearts content.

I love to use the tiny beach at the first pond for a quick cool off swim. For a group swimming or tanning spot try Rushford Lake, where the beautiful little sandy Rushford Lake Public Beach is exactly 3 miles away. (Opened through Labor Day) Just down the road you can put your kayak or canoe in the Hanging Bog or go over to Genesee River access, 6 miles away to paddle or fish. Genesee Valley Greenway Trail is minutes away to go for a nice hike. See the hidden jem, Wiscoy Falls in 20 minutes or hike around Moss Lake. Approximately 25 miles in either direction will get you to a great day at Allegany or Letchworth State parks. You may want to take a nature path walks right here so you can hug trees and kiss rocks... or Play In The Creek ! All us kids and kids at heart love to play in the creek! Enjoy a fire in the communal pit or in your own and the firefly show which starts at dusk! All Cuba area attractions including Cuba Cheese, Garlic Festival, Block Barn, Palmer Opera House, Moonwinks and Cuba Lake are within 10 miles. The superb Amish community and offerings lace the entire area. I love all the doggies and have a big lab mix, Dino, who thinks all the people and all the other doggies were made to play with him. We understand everyone may not see it that way. Out of respect for everyone lets all keep our dogs in our space and clean-up after them. All are invited to cross the creek bridge for off leash romps and hikes. Children love it here! My Verizon phone and Hotspot work great here. There is a three week maximum stay limit at this time. Only sites 1, 2, 3 and 6 can accommodate larger RV's. Please come on down and enjoy this special spot. Rustic campfire wood provided for 1st night stay. Founded in 1955 as a campground, amusement park and pay to fish lake, lake lucy has a rich history of having families spending time together. After the death of lake lucys founder Raymond Mealy in 2007 the amusements and train were all removed as well as the zoo. The Steinman family purchased the property in 2017 and began remodeling the pavilion and putting in water and sewer lines to be able to use the campground and pavilion again. It has been a place for the Steinman and Mealy families and friends to enjoy for the last few years and we felt it was time to once again welcome the public to enjoy our property! We currently have 11 sites with full hookups (water, sewer, electric(50/30/20amp). The campground water will be turned off November 10th due to freezing temperatures. We will still have electric and sewage hookups available. Learn more about this land: Campers can fish, bike, swim at lake lucy. They will have access to both ponds. Top pond has bass and have caught bass over 20 inches with the largest being 23 inches and over 8 pounds. Both ponds have bass, crappie, perch, bluegill, and carp. We are within a few miles of a dollar store if any supplies are needed, a gas station is at the end of the road and we are only a few minutes from cook forest as well as the tionesta reservoir. Water is available on site for campers and campers can use the bath house. In the bath house there is 1 full bathroom with a shower and the other bathroom is just a half bath. Quiet and peaceful, come relax and enjoy time with your family at lake Lucy! we are also conveniently located close to the bike trail near clarion as well as the bike trails in cook forest and oil creek state park. This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. It is surrounded by thousands of acres of private forestland and is very secluded. Our goal is to provide a private and secluded yet accessible camping experience where you will see more deer than people. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away. It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table. Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. This forested country property was purchased in 1923 by my great grandfather as a farm. My father was born here. All that was left when I arrived was the old stone house foundation -n it took me three days to find that! It is an honor to share a place this beautiful, creek, hills n trails ... Learn more about this land: Bordering Hanging Bog Wildlife Management Area and Crabb Hollow State Forest this charmed creek laced forest has been in my family for over 100 years. Recently turned camp with 10 well spaced camp sites with fire pits, deep well potable water, dish washing station and a couple of electrical outlets for charging, blender, hot pot.... We have what you need for comfort. We just finished a glamping cabin for those want maximum comfort and amenities all set up! ( Airbnb ) We are located right next to Wildlife Management and State Forest property and are on the snowmobile trail. Enjoy central (communal) and/ or individual camp fire pits (some rustic wood provided). Camp fire wood available near by ($5.00 bundle). RV's will want to use the somewhat level primary and secondary drive areas (sites 1, 2, 3 or 6). You can have privacy or enjoy socialization here. We are truly in the woods well spaced between sites and away from all traffic except very light country road travel. Spaces 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 are drive -in. Spaces 8, 9 and 10 are short walk-ins (50-250 feet) from parking. These locations, are across the creek FOOT bridge. You can not drive to them. Nice n private with rustic campfire wood, piled or to gather, near by. We have cut many beautiful walking trails on the forested hills out back and along the creeks. We sit 1/4 mile (through two meadows and up one tall and one small rise) from three ponds FULL of bass (fishing license required). I love to use the tiny beach at the first pond for a quick cool off swim. For a group swimming or tanning spot try Rushford Lake, where the beautiful little sandy Rushford Lake Public Beach is exactly 3 miles away. (Opened through Labor Day) Just down the road you can put your kayak or canoe in the Hanging Bog or go over to Genesee River access, 6 miles away to paddle or fish. Genesee Valley Greenway Trail is minutes away to go for a nice hike. See the hidden jem, Wiscoy Falls in 20 minutes or hike around Moss Lake. Approximately 25 miles in either direction will get you to a great day at Allegany or Letchworth State parks. You may want to take a nature path walks right here so you can hug trees and kiss rocks... or Play In The Creek ! All us kids and kids at heart love to play in the creek! Enjoy a fire in the communal pit or in your own and the firefly show which starts at dusk! All Cuba area attractions including Cuba Cheese, Garlic Festival, Block Barn, Palmer Opera House, Moonwinks and Cuba Lake are within 10 miles. The superb Amish community and offerings lace the entire area. I love all the doggies and have a big lab mix, Dino, who thinks all the people and all the other doggies were made to play with him. We understand everyone may not see it that way. Out of respect for everyone lets all keep our dogs in our space and clean-up after them. All are invited to cross the creek bridge for off leash romps and hikes. Children love it here! My Verizon phone and Hotspot work great here. There is a three week maximum stay limit at this time. Only sites 1, 2, 3 and 6 can accommodate larger RV's. Please come on down and enjoy this special spot. Rustic campfire wood provided for 1st night stay. At your site you will have access to water connection and 20/30 Amps service. Each site will have a picnic table and a fire ring. Outdoor communal kitchen, just steps away from your accommodation. Equipped with a Weber propane grill, Blackstone griddle, fridge/freezer, hotplate, drip coffee maker, microwave, toaster, waffle maker, and a range of dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, it's the perfect space for preparing meals. Our bathhouse is located within a short walking distance of your site. There are hot showers, a changing area, and flush toilets.

Big Oak Hill

This is a campsite that has picturesque view of surrounding farmland and of Peek-n-Peak. Located conveniently off of Rt426 with a slight drive along a field to reach the destination. Private and out of the way. Plenty of wildlife (family of fox and usually mamma deer and her babies, can normally be seen doing what animals do. Close to Peek-n-Peak and Findley Lake and its many amenities. Has fantastic cell reception so remote working is an absolute possibility if longer stays are wanted. This is a little campsite on top of a hillside besides, you guessed it, a big oak. This is on a working hay farm, so depending on when you arrive you might be able to see hay being harvested. Again, this a newer campsite so improvements will be made based on demand. To enter the property, you will use a field entrance right off Harrington Hill Road (coming from the west it will be on your left-hand side). We have the way marked for you with posts/markers so hopefully it will take you right there. Please be aware this is located on top of a hill (with a big oak, hence its name :)) and you will be going through an active hay field to reach it.
