If you look long enough, you may even see some shooting stars. The property is 93 acres and offers well manicured hiking trails that can even be used for Mountain Biking enthusiasts. Wild animals such as deer, raccoons, fox, owls, hawks, humming birds, bald eagles and more have made the land their home. Fireflies tend to take over in the summer months, its a beautiful thing to see. It's the perfect place to get away and enjoy nature all while being close to restaurants and downtown Olean if needed. Enjoy cooking on our rustic fire pits or light a fire to just enjoy the crackling sounds and warmth at night. A safe place for kids to run around, enjoy family time and the simple pleasures Mother Nature has to offer. It's perfect for anyone who just wants to get away and immerse themselves in the country. We have 2 camp sites ready right now both come with a fire pit. One is more secluded which is campsite #2 and the one with the valley view is campsite #1. Showers are seasonal. The last day for shower use is Oct 15th. You’re more than welcome to bring your own portable shower hook up and use the shower house for privacy. We apologize for any inconvenience. You will need to have a cigarette lighter access to use the shower to power the pump. We recommend bringing flashlights as our property is solar powered and there is no electric on the property. On low sunny days, solar lights may not last as long into the evening. On rainy days the property can be very muddy and access to the top of the hill to the sites would be best accessed with a 4WD vehicle as well as winter time with snow on the ground. If you'd like to charge your phone we advise you to bring back up battery packs as there is now electric hook ups on site. The most private sites are Cloud 9, Bunny Pit and Lilou's Landing. The cottage is located down by the main house and not at the top of the hill. Pets are welcome, please clean up after your dog. * No firearms or explosive devices of any kind are allowed on the property.

Cocktails, food, and public boat launching can be found in town just half a mile up the road. A quick drive inland, the historic town of Westfield provides weekend farmers markets in the summer months, wineries, eateries, and antique shopping.

This tent camping site opens just in time to enjoy the spectacular fall leaf colors of the Allegheny National Forest. The campground is only a few hundred feet from the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy River Access Preserve on the Allegheny River — an easy walk. The WPC river access is a favorite for fishing, paddling, and canoe or kayak launching and recovery. The camping area makes a perfect overnight stop for river float trips between Buckaloons and Tionesta, or for a shorter river trip from Tidioute to West Hickory. It’s ideal for small groups. The campground is located on the quiet, dark north end of Trunkeyville — a great spot for stargazing and watching meteor showers. At present, the only amenity is a porta-potty. Please bring your own drinking water. There are no designated campsites; you may camp anywhere in the northwest area of the mowed field or in the wooded area just beyond it. Note that the southeast corner of the field can become soggy after rain. A pair of eagles are resident in Trunkeyville and are often seen perched in the sycamore tree on the island opposite the WPC launch area.

All that was left when I arrived was the old stone house foundation -n it took me three days to find that! It is an honor to share a place this beautiful, creek, hills n trails ... Learn more about this land: Bordering Hanging Bog Wildlife Management Area and Crabb Hollow State Forest this charmed creek laced forest has been in my family for over 100 years.  Recently turned camp with 10 well spaced camp sites with fire pits, deep well potable water, dish washing station and a couple of electrical outlets for charging, blender, hot pot....  We have what you need for comfort. We just finished a glamping cabin for those want maximum comfort and amenities all set up! ( Airbnb ) We are located right next to Wildlife Management and State Forest property and are on the snowmobile trail.   Enjoy central (communal) and/ or individual camp fire pits (some rustic wood provided).  Camp fire wood available near by ($5.00 bundle).  RV's will want to use the somewhat level primary and secondary drive areas (sites 1, 2, 3 or 6). You can have privacy or enjoy socialization here.  We are truly in the woods well spaced between sites and away from all traffic except very light country road travel. Spaces 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 are drive -in. Spaces 8, 9 and 10 are short walk-ins (50-250 feet) from parking. These locations, are across the creek FOOT bridge. You can not drive to them. Nice n private with rustic campfire wood, piled or to gather, near by. We have cut many beautiful walking trails on the forested hills out back and along the creeks.  We sit 1/4 mile (through two meadows and up one tall and one small rise) from three ponds FULL of bass  (fishing license required). I love to use the tiny beach at the first pond for a quick cool off swim.   For a group swimming or tanning spot try Rushford Lake, where the beautiful little sandy Rushford Lake Public Beach is exactly 3 miles away. (Opened through Labor Day) Just down the road you can put your kayak or canoe in the Hanging Bog or go over to Genesee River access, 6 miles away to paddle or fish.  Genesee Valley Greenway Trail is minutes away to go for a nice hike.  See the hidden jem, Wiscoy Falls in 20 minutes or hike around Moss Lake. Approximately 25 miles in either direction will get you to a great day at Allegany or Letchworth State parks.  You may want to take a nature path walks right here so you can hug trees and kiss rocks... or Play In The Creek ! All us kids and kids at heart love to play in the creek!  Enjoy a fire in the communal pit or in your own and the firefly show which starts at dusk! All Cuba area attractions including Cuba Cheese, Garlic Festival, Block Barn, Palmer Opera House, Moonwinks and Cuba Lake are within 10 miles. The superb Amish community and offerings lace the entire area. I love all the doggies and have a big lab mix, Dino, who thinks all the people and all the other doggies were made to play with him. We understand everyone may not see it that way.  Out of respect for everyone lets all keep our dogs in our space and clean-up after them. All are invited to cross the creek bridge for off leash romps and hikes. Children love it here! My Verizon phone and Hotspot work great here. There is a three week maximum stay limit at this time.  Only sites 1, 2, 3 and 6 can accommodate larger RV's.  Please come on down and enjoy this special spot. Rustic campfire wood provided for 1st night stay. Bring wood or purchase it from my next door neighbor. Do send any questions. Plan to arrive before 9pm for any site. This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. It is surrounded by thousands of acres of private forestland and is very secluded. Our goal is to provide a private and secluded yet accessible camping experience where you will see more deer than people. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away.  It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table.  Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. We hope you enjoy the peace and quiet of nature on our property as much as we have. A safe place for kids to run around, enjoy family time and the simple pleasures Mother Nature has to offer. It's perfect for anyone who just wants to get away and immerse themselves in the country. We have 2 camp sites ready right now both come with a fire pit. One is more secluded which is campsite #2 and the one with the valley view is campsite #1. Showers are seasonal. The last day for shower use is Oct 15th. You’re more than welcome to bring your own portable shower hook up and use the shower house for privacy. We apologize for any inconvenience. You will need to have a cigarette lighter access to use the shower to power the pump. We recommend bringing flashlights as our property is solar powered and there is no electric on the property. On low sunny days, solar lights may not last as long into the evening. On rainy days the property can be very muddy and access to the top of the hill to the sites would be best accessed with a 4WD vehicle as well as winter time with snow on the ground. If you'd like to charge your phone we advise you to bring back up battery packs as there is now electric hook ups on site. The most private sites are Cloud 9, Bunny Pit and Lilou's Landing. The cottage is located down by the main house and not at the top of the hill. This tent camping site opens just in time to enjoy the spectacular fall leaf colors of the Allegheny National Forest. The campground is only a few hundred feet from the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy River Access Preserve on the Allegheny River — an easy walk. The WPC river access is a favorite for fishing, paddling, and canoe or kayak launching and recovery. The camping area makes a perfect overnight stop for river float trips between Buckaloons and Tionesta, or for a shorter river trip from Tidioute to West Hickory. It’s ideal for small groups. The campground is located on the quiet, dark north end of Trunkeyville — a great spot for stargazing and watching meteor showers. At present, the only amenity is a porta-potty. Please bring your own drinking water. There are no designated campsites; you may camp anywhere in the northwest area of the mowed field or in the wooded area just beyond it. Note that the southeast corner of the field can become soggy after rain. A pair of eagles are resident in Trunkeyville and are often seen perched in the sycamore tree on the island opposite the WPC launch area.

Learn more about this land: Bordering Hanging Bog Wildlife Management Area and Crabb Hollow State Forest this charmed creek laced forest has been in my family for over 100 years.  Recently turned camp with 10 well spaced camp sites with fire pits, deep well potable water, dish washing station and a couple of electrical outlets for charging, blender, hot pot....  We have what you need for comfort. We just finished a glamping cabin for those want maximum comfort and amenities all set up! ( Airbnb ) We are located right next to Wildlife Management and State Forest property and are on the snowmobile trail.   Enjoy central (communal) and/ or individual camp fire pits (some rustic wood provided).  Camp fire wood available near by ($5.00 bundle).  RV's will want to use the somewhat level primary and secondary drive areas (sites 1, 2, 3 or 6). You can have privacy or enjoy socialization here.  We are truly in the woods well spaced between sites and away from all traffic except very light country road travel. Spaces 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 are drive -in. Spaces 8, 9 and 10 are short walk-ins (50-250 feet) from parking. These locations, are across the creek FOOT bridge. You can not drive to them. Nice n private with rustic campfire wood, piled or to gather, near by. We have cut many beautiful walking trails on the forested hills out back and along the creeks.  We sit 1/4 mile (through two meadows and up one tall and one small rise) from three ponds FULL of bass  (fishing license required). I love to use the tiny beach at the first pond for a quick cool off swim.   For a group swimming or tanning spot try Rushford Lake, where the beautiful little sandy Rushford Lake Public Beach is exactly 3 miles away. (Opened through Labor Day) Just down the road you can put your kayak or canoe in the Hanging Bog or go over to Genesee River access, 6 miles away to paddle or fish.  Genesee Valley Greenway Trail is minutes away to go for a nice hike.  See the hidden jem, Wiscoy Falls in 20 minutes or hike around Moss Lake. Approximately 25 miles in either direction will get you to a great day at Allegany or Letchworth State parks.  You may want to take a nature path walks right here so you can hug trees and kiss rocks... or Play In The Creek ! All us kids and kids at heart love to play in the creek!  Enjoy a fire in the communal pit or in your own and the firefly show which starts at dusk! All Cuba area attractions including Cuba Cheese, Garlic Festival, Block Barn, Palmer Opera House, Moonwinks and Cuba Lake are within 10 miles. The superb Amish community and offerings lace the entire area. I love all the doggies and have a big lab mix, Dino, who thinks all the people and all the other doggies were made to play with him. We understand everyone may not see it that way.  Out of respect for everyone lets all keep our dogs in our space and clean-up after them. All are invited to cross the creek bridge for off leash romps and hikes. Children love it here! My Verizon phone and Hotspot work great here. There is a three week maximum stay limit at this time.  Only sites 1, 2, 3 and 6 can accommodate larger RV's.  Please come on down and enjoy this special spot. This 140-acre property is an old farmstead last farmed in the 1950's. It lies in the Allegheny Plateau region of NW Pennsylvania and is mostly hardwood forest today. It is surrounded by thousands of acres of private forestland and is very secluded. Our goal is to provide a private and secluded yet accessible camping experience where you will see more deer than people. AANR/TNS friendly. There is excellent Verizon and T-Mobile service. The skies are dark at night and the sounds of nature will surround you. Campsite 1 is near where the farmhouse and barn once stood. The site is shaded by large, old maples that once shaded the farmhouse. Old fields surround the farmstead, but the woods are a short walk away.  It is the most popular campsite with an outhouse, fire ring and picnic table available. Campsite 2 is on the other side of the property. There is a fire ring but no picnic table.  Both sites easily accommodate anything from tents to RV's. Each site has a separate, gated, gravel road access. These are the only 2 campsites on the property and they are far enough apart (1/4 mile) to avoid any contact should both sites be occupied. There is a 2-mile loop hiking trail on the property that traverses a variety of habitats which are home to many animals and birds. The trail is well maintained and mowed. The terrain is flat to gentle slopes. The 1/2-mile Narnia Loop trail weaves through a young spruce forest like a maze. It is so cool, literally, even on the hottest days. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Titusville, PA is about 15 miles away and is home to Oil Creek State Park which has great trout fishing, an excellent paved bike/hike trail, and Drake Well Museum site of the first oil well ever drilled. Finally, you will be on the doorstep to the Allegheny National Forest with all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. Learn more about this land: Bordering Hanging Bog Wildlife Management Area and Crabb Hollow State Forest this charmed creek laced forest has been in my family for over 100 years.  Recently turned camp with 10 well spaced camp sites with fire pits, deep well potable water, dish washing station and a couple of electrical outlets for charging, blender, hot pot....  We have what you need for comfort. We just finished a glamping cabin for those want maximum comfort and amenities all set up! ( Airbnb ) We are located right next to Wildlife Management and State Forest property and are on the snowmobile trail.   Enjoy central (communal) and/ or individual camp fire pits (some rustic wood provided).  Camp fire wood available near by ($5.00 bundle).  RV's will want to use the somewhat level primary and secondary drive areas (sites 1, 2, 3 or 6). You can have privacy or enjoy socialization here.  We are truly in the woods well spaced between sites and away from all traffic except very light country road travel. Spaces 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 are drive -in. Spaces 8, 9 and 10 are short walk-ins (50-250 feet) from parking. These locations, are across the creek FOOT bridge. You can not drive to them. Nice n private with rustic campfire wood, piled or to gather, near by. We have cut many beautiful walking trails on the forested hills out back and along the creeks.  We sit 1/4 mile (through two meadows and up one tall and one small rise) from three ponds FULL of bass  (fishing license required). I love to use the tiny beach at the first pond for a quick cool off swim.   For a group swimming or tanning spot try Rushford Lake, where the beautiful little sandy Rushford Lake Public Beach is exactly 3 miles away. (Opened through Labor Day) Just down the road you can put your kayak or canoe in the Hanging Bog or go over to Genesee River access, 6 miles away to paddle or fish.  Genesee Valley Greenway Trail is minutes away to go for a nice hike.  See the hidden jem, Wiscoy Falls in 20 minutes or hike around Moss Lake. Approximately 25 miles in either direction will get you to a great day at Allegany or Letchworth State parks.  You may want to take a nature path walks right here so you can hug trees and kiss rocks... or Play In The Creek ! All us kids and kids at heart love to play in the creek!  Enjoy a fire in the communal pit or in your own and the firefly show which starts at dusk! All Cuba area attractions including Cuba Cheese, Garlic Festival, Block Barn, Palmer Opera House, Moonwinks and Cuba Lake are within 10 miles. The superb Amish community and offerings lace the entire area. I love all the doggies and have a big lab mix, Dino, who thinks all the people and all the other doggies were made to play with him. We understand everyone may not see it that way.  Out of respect for everyone lets all keep our dogs in our space and clean-up after them. All are invited to cross the creek bridge for off leash romps and hikes. Children love it here! My Verizon phone and Hotspot work great here. There is a three week maximum stay limit at this time.  Only sites 1, 2, 3 and 6 can accommodate larger RV's.  Please come on down and enjoy this special spot. An absolute gem of a site. The cabin itself had everything we needed. Was already warmed up for us upon arrival on a snowy evening and held heat well throughout our weekend. Ben gave us a great hiking recommendation that we took advantage of and it was just what we were looking for. Enjoyed our evenings by the campfire and morning coffee on the steps by the river. It’s a great size, very clean, and had all the amenities we needed for the start of our cross country trip back home , including a buddy heater for the cold night. We got gluten free pizza at Villaggio Italiano, which is right down the road — it was delicious! Couldn’t recommend this spot more!

The only thing I wish was the electric was a little bit more heavy duty; but we had no problems. Overall great trip and I’d definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for something different than a resort.

This site is perfect! The road is a bit rough towards then end, but it’s a short distance. Do go to the left as Josh recommends! We went right without our camper to see and don’t, just don’t. The site is well kept and private and very big. Perfect to let our dog, Sully, roam free the whole time. It was his first camping trip. A+ for Sully. Already thinking about coming back next year. Thank you for the nice relaxing time!

We absolutely love this campsite! This is not the first time we've been here, and certainly won't be the last! This site is absolutely perfect for our family and dog! It is private, quiet, beautiful and clean! Sitting at the campfire and staring into the woods is life-giving. Our kids and dog can run around without any worry. The electric and water hook ups are so nice to have as well! There are several picnic tables to use and an awesome fire ring. Pulling in and out are super easy because of the nicely graveled area! Don't let the road coming in discourage you...this is no indication of what you'll experience once you're there! We thank Josh and his family for allowing us to use the site again to end our 2025 camping season (we began with them too!) We will certainly be back in 2026!

Just outside the quaint town of Austin sits a vivid reminder of one of Pennsylvania's worst disasters – the Austin Flood. In 1909, the dam was constructed on Freeman Run to power the Bayless Papermill downstream. Many wondered if the dam was safe. On September 30, 1911, Austin found out. Poor construction, coupled with torrential rain, resulted in the dam's collapse. Nearly 400 million gallons of water were released, destroying everything for 8 miles. At least 78 people perished in the tragedy. It was the second worst flood disaster in Pennsylvania's history and sixth worst dam failure in U.S. history. The tragedy sparked new legislation to improve dam safety, and the Austin Dam was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The ruins of the dam still stand, surrounded by a 76-acre park, as a tribute to the lives lost in the Austin Flood. Don't miss one of Potter County's best kept secrets!

This stand-alone secluded campsite sits in the woods above an extremely unique stretch of French Creek (2022 PA River of the Year!) Facing northwest over the valley, it offers stunning sunset views. The Union City Dam floods the valley during wet periods making a beautiful (though temporary) lakefront campsite before slowly draining away. 100s of acres of protected land create a wildlife haven. Centrally located between 2 small towns with many local attractions. Union City Dam: Situated on the high-side of the Union City Dam, a dry-bed flood control dam. During snowmelt or rainy spells, the dam fills and floods the entire valley. During dry spells, French Creek appears as any other creek. At full flood, it becomes a breathtaking lake front campsite. Unfortunately, these natural events only occur a few weeks out of the year and are fairly unpredictable, but provide a truly spectacular setting (compare the high-water vs low-water views in the photos). Wildlife: At the end of a dead-end dirt road, adjacent to 100's of acres of federal protected land, and within sight of a number of agriculture fields, there is an abundance of wildlife. For over 20 years, an active eagle’s nest has been located 1 mile north providing amazing opportunities to see either adult or juvenile eagles flying over French Creek hunting for fish. Deer can be seen early morning and late evening in the fields, and frequently crossing the valley. All types of waterfowl flock the reservoir lake when flooded. I've personally witnessed up to 1000 geese and 100’s of wild swans at once. Local Attractions: The small towns of Union City and Waterford have gas stations, grocery stores, great local dining options, and more. The Union City Dam, less than 1.5 miles down the road, provides walking, biking, scenic driving, and picnic opportunities. 40-min drive to Presque Isle State Park, one of the only free state parks left in the US. 15-min drive to Port Farms a farm-themed amusement park for the kids and Poverty Knob Brewery for the adults. DISCLAIMER: There is an active gravel pit to the North of the campsite. During weekdays from about 7 AM-5 PM, you will likely hear and possibly see some activity from the gravel pit. Security cameras may be in use at the driveway entrance.

Founded in 1955 as a campground, amusement park and pay to fish lake, lake lucy has a rich history of having families spending time together. After the death of lake lucys founder Raymond Mealy in 2007 the amusements and train were all removed as well as the zoo. The Steinman family purchased the property in 2017 and began remodeling the pavilion and putting in water and sewer lines to be able to use the campground and pavilion again. Top pond has bass and have caught bass over 20 inches with the largest being 23 inches and over 8 pounds. Both ponds have bass, crappie, perch, bluegill, and carp. We are within a few miles of a dollar store if any supplies are needed, a gas station is at the end of the road and we are only a few minutes from cook forest as well as the tionesta reservoir. Water is available on site for campers and campers can use the bath house. In the bath house there is 1 full bathroom with a shower and the other bathroom is just a half bath. Quiet and peaceful, come relax and enjoy time with your family at lake Lucy!   we are also conveniently located close to the bike trail near clarion as well as the bike trails in cook forest and oil creek state park. The forested property also includes a 3/4 mile section of the old Erie Railroad, providing a unique opportunity to explore the area's natural beauty and history. Take a stroll along the level railroad bed, and you'll be surrounded by the rustling of leaves and the chirping of birds. This campsite offers a fantastic opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature. And, if you have furry friends, they can be part of the fun too. A 150 square bunker is on-site just in case in rains. It has lights and the wifi works inside too. 10 minutes drive away from the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation with tax-free gas and smokeshops. Where to go

Allegany State Park

On the north end of the reservoir, Allegany State Park offers 65,000 acres of rare, old growth forest, two lakes, and rugged terrain with plenty of trails for hiking, biking, and snowmobiling. Two developed areas—Quaker and Red House—offer more than 300 campsites, 350 cabins (142 winterized), and eight cottages. Amenities include swim beaches, playgrounds, playing fields, boat and bike rentals, and boat launches. Just west of the state park, in the Enchanted Mountains of New York, Onoville Marina Park offers nearly 100 seasonal and transient camping sites, some right along the shores of the reservoir.

Allegany Indian Reservation

The northwestern part of the reservoir is surrounded by the Allegany Reservation of the Seneca Nation of Indians, which also includes several towns, the city of Salamanca, and the Seneca-Allegany Casino. Campers can stay at the Highbanks Campground, across the reservoir from Allegany State Park’s Quaker Area. Options include tent sites and RV sites with water and 30-amp electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire pits, along with spacious cabins and chalets, and amenities that include a boat launch, pool, picnic areas, and playground.

Allegheny National Forest

A mecca for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, the forest features 10 developed campgrounds. Willow Bay, Dewdrop, Kiasutha, and Red Bridge are the closest to the reservoir, and together offer more than 400 tent sites, RV sites, and rustic cabins. Most sites include picnic tables and fire rings, while many RV sites offer hookups and a dump station. For the best views, book a waterfront site or stay at a boat-in campground, such as Hopewell, Pine Grove, or Hooks Brook. With more than 500,000 acres, there’s plenty of space for dispersed camping.
