Enjoy cooking on our rustic fire pits or light a fire to just enjoy the crackling sounds and warmth at night. A safe place for kids to run around, enjoy family time and the simple pleasures Mother Nature has to offer. It's perfect for anyone who just wants to get away and immerse themselves in the country. We have 2 camp sites ready right now both come with a fire pit. One is more secluded which is campsite #2 and the one with the valley view is campsite #1. Showers are seasonal. The last day for shower use is Oct 15th. You’re more than welcome to bring your own portable shower hook up and use the shower house for privacy. We apologize for any inconvenience. You will need to have a cigarette lighter access to use the shower to power the pump. We recommend bringing flashlights as our property is solar powered and there is no electric on the property. On low sunny days, solar lights may not last as long into the evening. On rainy days the property can be very muddy and access to the top of the hill to the sites would be best accessed with a 4WD vehicle as well as winter time with snow on the ground. If you'd like to charge your phone we advise you to bring back up battery packs as there is now electric hook ups on site. The most private sites are Cloud 9, Bunny Pit and Lilou's Landing. The cottage is located down by the main house and not at the top of the hill. Just outside the quaint town of Austin sits a vivid reminder of one of Pennsylvania's worst disasters – the Austin Flood. In 1909, the dam was constructed on Freeman Run to power the Bayless Papermill downstream. Many wondered if the dam was safe. On September 30, 1911, Austin found out. Poor construction, coupled with torrential rain, resulted in the dam's collapse. Nearly 400 million gallons of water were released, destroying everything for 8 miles. At least 78 people perished in the tragedy. It was the second worst flood disaster in Pennsylvania's history and sixth worst dam failure in U.S. history. The tragedy sparked new legislation to improve dam safety, and the Austin Dam was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The Allegheny River is about 10 miles away, near Tidioute, PA, and has excellent paddling and fishing. Our campsite is very private and includes a fire ring, a picnic table a trash can and a swing. Parking is available right at the site. It's just a 2 minute walk to the northernmost kayak launch on the East Branch of the Clarion River. Here you will find a public porta potty for use during the summer only. Several small jack dams will make your kayak experience a delight. We have a private 1 acre pond just a stones throw from the campsite that visitors can enjoy. Weekend Trip to Hideaway Valley

Great place to camp, it was out in the wilderness but at the same time close to everything. Nice large site with a water view. The only thing I wish was the electric was a little bit more heavy duty; but we had no problems. Overall great trip and I’d definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for something different than a resort.

My pup and I loved our overnight stay. The property is beautiful and quiet. We woke in the morning to a herd of deer walking through camp. Having electric available was a big bonus. We were car camping and being able to have a car heater to keep us cozy was perfect on a 30 degree night. My pup loved being able to be off leash.

3 nights at Clear Creek Cook Forest Campsite

This site is perfect! The road is a bit rough towards then end, but it’s a short distance. Do go to the left as Josh recommends! We went right without our camper to see and don’t, just don’t. The site is well kept and private and very big. Perfect to let our dog, Sully, roam free the whole time. It was his first camping trip. A+ for Sully. Already thinking about coming back next year. Thank you for the nice relaxing time!

This is an amazing campsite. Very well thought out in design and very private. Out of my 6 days on the road this was my best night. Tons of firewood, plenty of space for large groups, a great patio with seating boulders and ample space for parking. Highly recommend. Oh, super nice guy as well!

Weekend Trip to Clear Creek Cook Forest Campsite

We absolutely love this campsite! This is not the first time we've been here, and certainly won't be the last! This site is absolutely perfect for our family and dog! It is private, quiet, beautiful and clean! Sitting at the campfire and staring into the woods is life-giving. Our kids and dog can run around without any worry. The electric and water hook ups are so nice to have as well! There are several picnic tables to use and an awesome fire ring. Pulling in and out are super easy because of the nicely graveled area! Don't let the road coming in discourage you...this is no indication of what you'll experience once you're there! We thank Josh and his family for allowing us to use the site again to end our 2025 camping season (we began with them too!) We will certainly be back in 2026!
