Learn more about this land: Our property is located near the tiny village of Glen Hazel, our unique area offers close proximity to many watersports and hiking opportunities. Visitors can watch bald eagles and osprey as you enjoy kayaking, fishing and nature at this primitive campsite. We have just one site. Our campsite is very private and includes a fire ring, a picnic table a trash can and a swing. Parking is available right at the site. It's just a 2 minute walk to the northernmost kayak launch on the East Branch of the Clarion River. Here you will find a public porta potty for use during the summer only. Several small jack dams will make your kayak experience a delight. We have a private 1 acre pond just a stones throw from the campsite that visitors can enjoy. Fishing is permitted in the pond, no license needed. Fly fishermen will enjoy the thrill of catching native and stocked trout in the most beautiful section on the East Branch of the Clarion River (PA fishing license and trout stamp required). Nearby is Bendigo State Park that offers free use of picnic areas and swimming in an immaculately kept pool. Just 1 1/2 miles away is the Dam Inn where you can stop for a beer or for a nice dinner on the deck. Adjacent to the campsite is State Gamelands #25. This enormous tract of public land is open to all for hiking, biking and fishing the pristine native trout streams, including Middle Fork, Crooked Creek and several others. It was a really nice little camp site, even though it was close to the road, it felt pretty private. The hemlocks created a beautiful dense canopy even helped shelter us from some of the light rain that passed through. There is a perfect spot to hang up your hammock between the two large hemlock trees. I don’t recommend fishing in the pond. We saw lots and lots of frogs and snakes, but no fish. We tried fishing in the stream but there was no where along the bank open enough to make a cast. If you want to fish, you definitely need a kayak or waders and need to make sure it’s the right time of year, otherwise it really is not worth fishing at all.

We had a great time at this cozy campsite. The pond was just literally a very short walk next to our site. I don’t think this pond was really for serious “fishing”…it was peaceful and had beautiful sunsets. If you want to do some serious fishing….i would highly recommend the river RIGHT across the street. That river/creek was awesome….the water was beautiful, we were able to walk around in it and if we had the right bait we could’ve caught some of the big trout we saw swimming around. We were also able to walk right up the road where the kayak launch is. That was also where the portapotty was which was very clean at all times. Even though the owners house was not too far…you couldn’t even tell because it was super quiet and we couldn’t even see them from our camp site. Also I actually didn’t mind them being there because they were super helpful if you needed to ask them questions about anything. The campsite was right off the road which was super quiet…the only traffic was an occasional kayaker. I would definitely return. This campsite has everything you need within walking distance from you. AND…if you forgot anything from home Walmart will deliver!!!! I would definitely be back here.

This was a wonderful property there was so much to do within a short distance wish we could have stayed a whole week. Hosts were very hospitable delivering firewood and giving us a shuttle so we could pick up our kayaks after a day of paddling they're also very knowledgeable of the area and we're able to point out a few things that we took advantage of being able to do that we would not have found if it wasn't for them

Amazing evening for a camping trip. Had plenty of fire wood for an evening back after exploring all day. Host was hospitable and the site was private and well maintained with everything we could have needed!

The host was outstanding, the spot was super cute and easy to camp at and it was a great experience. The spot is right off the road, across the street from a stream and down the street from a dam where you can easily go hang out and/or fish without a lot of other people around. There's a picnic table, swing, trash can and fire pit, as shown in the pics. The pond is right next to the campsite, yet somehow I did not get bothered by a single mosquito even though they eat me alive in my own backyard that does not have any kind of water nearby. It was really convenient and just a super easy place to camp. My only warning to other campers is not to park too far in beyond the fire pit- my dumb arse got a Jeep Gladiator stuck in the mud. Susan and her husband had to come tow me out, which they did with ease and they were really nice about it, even though I interrupted their entire Sunday. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you.

We came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s 30th birthday and had a few friend’s join us for a few days and it was a wonderful experience! This was our first time using Hipcamp so we weren’t sure what to expect but our experience tops any camping experience we’ve had previously! The weather was beautiful with it being warm and sunny during the day and nice and cool during the nights! It was so cozy and quiet! I loved listening to the sounds of the frogs in the pond near the site and hearing the rushing water in the near by river! It was really nice looking up at the stars at night too! I also loved how many butterflies there were flying around! Susan was a very responsive and attentive host, making sure we had everything we needed and I would recommend this site to anyone looking for a nice peaceful and quiet weekend camping trip!

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape with no cell service and stunning scenery, this is the perfect spot! Our jobs can be so consuming, and this getaway was exactly what we needed to unwind, camp, and reconnect with the outdoors. This was our 3rd camping trip this year, and without a doubt, the best place we’ve stayed yet. I didn’t check the mailbox right away (which had a tablecloth inside), so I made a last-minute trip to town to buy one—turns out, I didn’t need to! The guest book is such a great touch; reading everyone’s notes had us laughing and appreciating the simple joys of camping. Morning coffee by the pond, with the sun shining and birds singing, was absolute perfection. We explored a bit but also spent plenty of time simply relaxing and napping—and it was wonderful. Big shoutout to Susan, who had our fire already going and plenty of firewood waiting for us. Considering it poured the entire drive there, that was a huge help! We’re already planning our next trip back—can’t wait to return!

Had a great Memorial Day weekend camping in our van! The site was perfect and felt secluded, but was easy to find near a quiet road. Even though it rained the first two days, there was plenty of tree cover to keep it from feeling like a downpour. Loved being close to the picturesque pond where we could hear the frogs calling each night. It was sooo nice having a fire pit and picnic table already set up, as well as a mailbox full of other little amenities and guest book with other campers’ messages. There was no Verizon or Mint Mobile cell service, which was nice to let us disconnect. Thanks for a great site that let us novice campers have such a fun weekend!

Great spot! Easy to find, just off the road but very private and quiet. Loved the swinging chair by the fire pit and the benches by the pond. Porta-potty just a few minute walk down the road. Host was friendly and communicative.

We loved staying at this site! Cute little secluded getaway! If you love fishing, this is the place to stay! Nice pond right next to the site. Although we got caught it a rain storm, we still made the most of it! Our host was great! Stopped by and said if it got too bad we can always seek shelter there instead! Definitely would come again!

It was just as described from the reviews we read. Susan stopped by to see if we needed anything. We loved her mailbox with all the little things you might need or you forgot. She had a notebook in there as well so campers could leave a note about their stay. The site was perfect. A little close to the road, but the traffic was very minimal and mostly kayakers. The pond was great and our dogs loved it too...no leashes all weekend ! We will be back !!

This was such an amazing spot! We loved how close we were to the stream, this campsite is very well named! My husband caught some rainbow trouts on the fly and our pups absolutely loved getting to swim in the stream. Susan was an amazing host. She made sure to let me know about a meteor shower taking place and even offered to start a campfire for us! I would highly recommend this spot to anyone wanting a peaceful camping spot in this area!

Took my pets to a state park campground several months ago. Won’t do that again. Neighboring campers making noise all night, folks walking their dogs by all day long. Susan’s property was secluded, quiet and serene, other than the sounds of the frogs in the pond as we observed the stars. Directions took me right there no problem. Lots to see in the area.

This location is perfect for a visit to the trout gods of the Clarion River. Literally a one minute walk from camp to the river. Capm was clean and easily accessible. Host was great at communicating and directions were spot on. I will be back again with my fly rod.

Susan, was a very kind, accommodating hostess. The site was tucked away in a nicely wooded area, within a short distance of a pond. It had rained recently, and the site was quite muddy and buggy, however, so we decided not to stay. If it had been another time, it may have been okay, but it was not what we were hoping for.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here! Though it rained, we had shelter, the canopy of trees helped our fire from going out all day long. The tent spot was level, the added swing was precious, and we spent so much time looking for frogs along the pond. The river across the road is was cool and peaceful. The porta potty by the kayak launch was clean and only a two minute walk, if you don’t have a camp toilet. Perfect for our weekend away!
