Welcome to our little slice of heaven along Pine Creek at the southern end of the "PA Grand Canyon". It's an outdoor lover's dream. Cabin currently for rent. The camp lies inside of Tiadaghton State Forest on the west side of Pine Creek in the Pennsylvania Wilds. The property is 5 acres, embedded deep in public land. On the property there is a cabin and one very large campsite (not currently in use). The area is beautiful for paddling, floating, fishing, hiking, biking, rock skipping, dipping your toes, swimming hole gems, searching for waterfalls, writing retreats. There are hundreds of miles of hiking, mountain bike and ATV trails, and some of the best fishing and stargazing on the East Coast. There is a 62 mile -rails-to-trails that runs along the other side of Pine Creek from Wellsboro to Jersey Shore, PA. Our camp is located on a secluded hill - a relaxing oasis removed from the rest of the world - read a book in a hammock, build campfires, grill yummy food, let the kids run around like crazy, play a lot of cards. It a 2 minute walk from the property to public access to Pine Creek. It is a 45 minute drive to paddle the Western Branch of the Susquehanna near Lock Haven, PA. Note: Cabin is currently available. Campsite is not at this time.Unique rustic cabin deep in the woods with all season porch. Wonderful space for lounging, playing board games, watching deer from the living room couch. Electricy, wood burning stove, running water, indoor toliet. Comfortable for up to 6 adults, or 4 adults plus 3-4 children. Sleeping: Large bedroom with dresser. Comfortable queen futon in living room that can be closed off for privacy. Two separate small bedroom spaces in loft - one full size bed; one twin (twin room has very low ceiling, ideal hideaway for kids). Shower - There is an outdoor shower with hot water and privacy. It's lovely. But no indoor shower. Indoor half bathroom with toilet and sink. Kitchen / cooking - Gas stove (do not use oven), sink, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave. Charcoal bbq grill. Large grate for campfire cooking. Kitchen fully stocked with cookware, plates, glasses, ice cube trays, etc. You shouldn’t need to bring any kitchenware. Also, there’s an outdoor kitchen workspace, sink, including propane burners. Heat / Cooling - No AC or central heat. Wood burning stove and fans. NOTES ON ROADS: Travel on forest service gravel mountain road and up steep gravel drieway required. Low clearence vechiles like Priuses are not recommended. NOTE ON WATER: Please bring drinking water or plan to boil it for 5 minutes before drinking. The water is suitable for everything else.

Boyfriend and I stayed here just to get away, cute little property right on the mountain! Zero cell phone reception which we knew beforehand, but there is WiFi on site which was nice. Will most likely be back in the summer to utilize the creek next time. The ground seemed to be a bit soft, don’t recommend bringing a vehicle here with low tire tread.

I loved tent camping here. It was quiet, the directions were clear, and having access to the pit toilet, sink, and shower was a plus. It rained when I visited, and the road to get there was muddy, but my SUV did fine! I would definitely camp here again.

We (3 people, one tent, one cat) had so much fun camping on Katharine’s land! It was so quiet and all you could hear was the forest, especially at night. It was the perfect quiet spot to just unplug. We were able to cook over the fire, and there was a garden hose we could use for washing our dishes. You have to bring your own wood or take advantage of all the down wood! There was plenty of down wood for two nights and we even had leftover to leave. You hear the creek slightly but it is such a short walk if you want to explore. Just such a cute little piece of paradise. We went with a minivan and we were okay for the most part but 4WD is definitely recommended. The driveway is a hill so sometimes it can get muddy and it took us a second to get up but it could totally depend on the weather.

We loved tent camping at Camp Skipping Rock! Beautiful, peaceful, private and quiet setting. It's nice that the property sits up from the road and is surrounded by mature trees. Walking to the creek within minutes was such an added bonus that we absolutely loved. The outdoor shower was awesome, and the view from the outhouse amazing! Can't wait to visit again!

We had a great time! The property was clean, well maintained and beautiful! We arrived after dark so the drive on the gravel road was a bit intimidating, but the directions provided led us there without issue! A great place to go to escape for a bit - we’ll definitely be back!

We may have picked the wrong weekend to go out to the campsite but the amount of high powered rifle shots and extremely large explosions became very annoying. My poor doggie spent most of her time hiding. It is a very nice spot I won't deny that and the zip line was super fun! It may have just been the wrong weekend to go. The wildlife nosies at night are wonderful and so are the views.

I loved camping at Katharine's place. There's a little bit of everything to do around: hiking, biking, tubing, stargazing. The place is pretty remote so make sure you need everything you need before heading up. Maps are a must, the GPS can sometimes act wonky. The shower and latrine make a world of a difference when camping. Be aware, the drive-in was through a gravel road and Katherine's place is up a rocky incline. The place was quiet and very peaceful, would stay there again!

Very remote spot down a dirt road close to the river with great amenities, excluding the firewood which they don't let you use- this was tough because the only way to not be swarmed by bugs was to have the fire going. 4 wheel drive recommended

We enjoyed our brief stay at camp skipping rock. After a long drive back to the property we were delighted to have the space to ourselves. Great place for a fire, we saw amazing stars at night, and thoroughly enjoyed the hot shower in the sunshine on a cool morning.

Loved this campsite! First time using Hipcamp, and would definitely use again. It was the perfect amount of rustic privacy but the amenities that make camping more comfortable. The hot shower felt great and water and toilet access make things much easier. I was looking for somewhere very private and without cell service to really unplug, but not so remote we felt unsafe. This spot hit the mark on both. It was definitely a long distance from the site to the main road, about 25 mins just to get to a main road before going anywhere from there. There was a crew working on the road while we were there so we had to do a few tricky passes, but it was just a fluke that happened while we were there. I'd definitely stay again and would recommend to others.

Beautiful spot! Just be aware of 6 miles of one way road on the way in/out. The driveway was also a bit of a trip but all went well. I will go back but for a longer stay.

We were looking for a quiet retreat close to nature and we found it at Camp Skipping Rock at Pine Creek. Great place, lots of space, beautiful forest around, everything exactly as described on the website. It's clean and everything is neat. We spent a very nice time here and rested.

We just finished up a quick getaway, and we loved our time at camp. We took both dogs who enjoyed sniffing around and relaxing in the sunshine. We had no trouble finding the location, and we appreciated the proximity to the river for fly fishing. We’d definitely stay again.
