Lovely Hiatus from the Daily Grind!
Upon arrival, we met up with Amanda, her husband, Matt, and their sweet pup EV. After they answered a couple of questions, we drove to our site. As we proceeded to the end of their driveway, the rolling hills of cornfields gave way to a beautiful meadow, filled with wildflowers. Nature also provided us with two double rainbows during our stay! Our two Siberian Huskies thoroughly enjoyed sniffing around their property after the scents of groundhogs, rabbits, squirrels, and other visiting critters. A nice, shaded bench on the outskirts of their property provides a respite from the summer sun's heat. We also picked some blackberries during our walks.
This site is a very short 14-minute cruise away from PSU. We wanted to visit the PSU Berkey Creamery while in the area. We HIGHLY recommend it. I don't eat much ice cream now, due to stomach issues, but this ice cream was worth the discomfort! Also, a few minutes away is the town of Bellefonte which is an architecturally stellar little town with a river traversing through it. Lots of shops and restaurants abound. Check out URBN Flavorhouse if you're craving a milkshake with a side of wild-game burger and fries. You will NOT be disappointed.
Overall, we loved our stay here and 100% will be back again for a visit! If you're in the area and need somewhere to park for a PSU game or are just looking for a quaint, secluded, and quiet place to park your camper, this should be tops on the list!
