Very peaceful meadows with plenty of room to walk around especially enjoyed walking down to river. Sites are level , could use numbers on the sites but friendly seasonal campers helped us out. This is a very beautiful campsite. I enjoyed the peaceful countryside, sleeping beside a wheat field on a hill that overlooked the valley farmlands below. I enjoyed a campfire and solar powered lights. The host was friendly and caring. Privacy was excellent. It will be a wonderful memory on my cross country bicycle journey.

Weekend Trip to Mulberry Acres

My son and I had an incredible time camping at Emu Overlook in our small travel trailer! Theresa and her husband were truly amazing hosts. They greeted us upon arrival, showing us our site, water access, and the toilet facilities. We especially loved the farm tour, where my son had a blast meeting all the animals. Our campsite was beautiful and well-equipped with a fire pit, picnic table, and a nice bench. There was plenty of room for our small trailer, making it a perfectly secluded spot. We really enjoyed exploring the trails and snacking on the wild berries along the paths. A fantastic spot I'd highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Wilson’s Boondock Hollow

I took my son on his first camping trip here, and it was truly a wonderful experience. Michael, his wife, and their children were some of the most hospitable hosts we’ve ever encountered. They went out of their way to help create a special memory for my son by allowing him to fish in their beautiful pond. The property itself is serene and well cared for, and the thoughtful welcome packet was a lovely touch. We felt so welcomed and supported throughout our stay.

I really felt at peace here ❤️ great location! The treehouse was pretty cool! I loved that the linens were fresh and the extra touches made the stay that much more easier, it had everything needed to cook! Even on the rainy days it was enjoyable!

This is a great spot, right beside the water. You are near a bridge & cars do drive by but its not busy & the trees create great privacy. Shade, fire pit & port-a-john were great. Super responsive host & easy to find.

3 nights at Bald Eagle Campsite

We had such a great time camping at Bald Eagle! We brought our dog and two year old daughter, who were first-time campers. As we pulled in, we were warmly greeted by Linda who gave plenty of info and checked in every time she passed us by. We were fortunate to have a large site, with plenty of play space, room for an EZ up, additional table, and right on the pond! The campground has a nice loop to walk around, with a creek to dip in, and is conveniently located next to a gas station and a dollar general a half mile down the road. In our case, we were thankful to be able to walk for ice and a few items we forgot to pack. The campground is also close enough to the town of Tyrone, which we spent some time exploring and enjoyed the trains. There are several state parks within 15 miles, which gave us plenty of options for hikes, but our favorite was Linda’s recommendation to go to Canoe Creek. They have a lake that has a swimming section, plenty of trails, and boat rentals (yes you can take your dog)! We are very grateful to have found this small treasure, you can tell how much the owners absolutely love and care for this space! It is rather close to the roadside, so during the weeknights, you can hear traffic and trucks, but if you are used to that having come from a busy city, or you are a deep sleeper, you will be just fine! Thank you Bald Eagle!

I came here to stay with my three boys who are all grown. We were greeted by Linda when we got there and she was so nice. Apologized for the rain and she felt so bad the ground was so wet. It was fine and we made it work with no issues. We were in one of the open sites in front which as the listing states, you can hear the road. That was my only negative. The campsites are beautiful and well maintained. I cannot wait to go back and stay on the stream in back. Small and easy, we took walks every day and hung out at the creek to keep cool. The facilities were very clean and we met some really cool campers. Everyone was so nice. We cannot wait to come back.

We tent camped . The sites are very pretty , rustic and real camping , the bathrooms were immaculate, we enjoyed our stay . A short walk to Snappys a convenient store . The only downfall was mud but that’s of no fault of the campground we’ve been have monsoon weather .

We enjoyed our weekend stay at Bald Eagle campsite. We rented 2 lots for our family of 12. Linda and Janet were perfect hosts. We brought a small camper and 4 tents. There was plenty of room for everyone. The bathrooms were clean snd showers were good. The on-site game room was an added bonus. Firewood is available on site. We would definitely stay again with its close proximity to Delgrosso. The only drawback is the traffic noise being so close to a busy road and there is no dump station for the camper.

Bald Eagle Campsite

Originally opened as a family campground owned and operated by Denis and Kay Snyder in 1964. Bald Eagle Campsite has been owned and operated by the Snyder family to this day! Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer. We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities. Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups. On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards. For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent. Campers must be less than 25 feet. Generators are not allowed. Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm. There are no water hookups. Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons. Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350. Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them. Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance. We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Let your children and dogs roam free without a leash. This property is remote and private. There are no neighbors nearby. This location is; twenty minutes north of I-76 Turnpike Willow Hill Exit forty-five minutes from Raystown Lake one hour and thirty minutes north of Gettysburg one hour and thirty minutes south of PSU three hours east of Pittsburgh three hours west of Philadelphia five hours west of NYC There is some cell service, but it is limited. Can you hear me now? Be sure to save site information on your phone before you leave, in case you lose cell-service. This is not Alaska, but it is not a KOA campground, either. We recommend you print of bring a paper map. Your GPS will not bring you to the exact driveway location. You need to be personally observant. This is the top of a mountain ridge. The access lane is steep, rocky, and has water erosion ditches you must drive over. Do not attempt this if you have a low profile car or a new/fragile camper. 4WD/AWD is highly recommended. Low profile and fancy cars are not recommended. This camping site is for those who want to live ruggedly like Lewis Clark. To see the water ditches you must drive over, go to YouTube and search "Wilbur's Shed - Blairs Mills", and it is the account of a cat with a white face. This location is in a mix of farmland and mountain Appalachia. You will see common species such as chipmunks, squirrels turkey and deer. Many bird species. There are also porcupines, skunks, and black snakes around. You may also see black bear - it is rare, but possible. You are visiting wildlife species in their natural habitat. Please be self-aware of your own level comfort with wildlife. Once again, this is not an RVs park where you will socialize with a hundred other campers. This is primitive and isolated. This is an ideal camping spot if you want to escape from people. Nearby is the Tuscarora Creek which is excellent for trout fishing. The Tuscarora has a small but lovely window for kayaking from mid-March through the end of May. Please contact the host if you would like help to plan some paddle logistics. Rental through Hipcamp does not include hunting or the use of firearms, nor the use of dirt bikes and ATVs.
