Our peaceful 20 acres has a good mix of woods, wild meadows and maintained cleared areas as well as a small pond, all of which can be explored via our nature trail. Enjoy the sounds of nature and an incredible night sky.
FIREWOOD and seasonal farm goods are available for purchase at a self-serve stand (several payment options available). There is also a wonderful sauna on the property that can be reserved (go to sauna to reserve a time).
Great hiking, kayaking, biking, birding, fishing, swimming, and disc-golfing opportunities just a few miles away at Paint Creek State Park and the Highland Nature Sanctuary. Amish country is also just 15 minutes away with a great bakery, markets and greenhouses. This area is home to an impressive network of ancient earthworks including the world famous Serpent Mound.
Our accommodations range from primitive tent-camping to "glamping" in one of our tiny off-grid cabins. The sites are spaced out for privacy and each site offers a private picnic table and fire pit. There are two shared privies/outhouses which have basic composting toilets (not flushing). A grassy parking area is provided near the road, however, ALL SITES ARE WALK-IN (with the exception of site #1).
***Please take note that this is private property and the host lives on site. If you are looking for a place to be loud and party into the night, this is not the place for you. If you are looking to spend some quality time in nature, welcome. There are rules.

Woody is our peaceful hilltop home nestled amongst the scenic hills in southeast Ohio between Hocking Hills State Park and Zaleski State Forest. The meadow is surrounded by a tall mixed hardwood forest where campers are free to walk the mowed path through the woods. Come nightfall, you will be graced with some of the darkest skies in the state of Ohio. On a clear moonless night, the milky way galaxy comes into view and shooting stars are not an uncommon site. If you're lucky, our friendly black cat will grace you with his presence, he's a legend and likes to snuggle:)
We offer a variety of accommodations depending on the type of adventure you are seeking. Choose between staying in the off grid school bus tiny home, the 20 foot "glamper" with outdoor kitchen, the Hickory Hut which offers more "creature comforts" or simply pitch a tent or park a smaller camper in the open meadow campsite for a night of stargazing.

If you're a lover of outdoor recreation, this is the place to be. Within about a half-hour drive, there are many opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking, hunting and fishing, and birding. Nearby parks and forests include Hocking Hills State Park, Hocking Hills State Forest, Lake Hope State Park, Zaleski State Forest, the Moonville Rail Trail, Lake Alma State Park, Tar Hollow State Forest, and more!Set up camp wherever you like! There are 12 acres of open field space, surrounded by 50 acres of wooded hills and hollows with hiking trails and level spots to pitch tents. Vehicles can be driven to the field sites; we are still working on a road to access the hill sites by vehicle. The fields have about a dozen "permanent" sites with stone or metal fire rings and log seating. Portable fire rings are also available that can be moved anywhere. Dead wood for campfires is free to gather, or split firewood is available to purchase for $5/bundle. A toilet and solar shower are located at the center of the property. Please note that our Campground is on the River. Due to excessive rain and certain times of the year, the campground may be wet and muddy. We also cannot control the level of the river or the access to the River based on current water levels.
Riverside Campground features 80 sites and conveniently located portable restrooms throughout the campground. Just steps from the Family Fun Center, guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities perfect for the whole family.
Campsite price includes 2 people. Can add additional adults for $10 per person per night and additional children for $5 per person per night. Up to two tents per site. The tent limits are strictly enforced. If you have more than 2 tents you will be required to book an additional site.

Visiting the Hocking Hills ? No interest in crowded campgrounds ? you have found 75 acres mostly wooded with trails right at the start of the Hocking Hills. (easy access from 33 and to Logan) There are various places around the property to pitch a tent. There are also options for RV parking with no hookups as well as a site with 30/50 amp. I can transport you and your gear to the remote sites. ATV's are also welcome on the property. Firewood will be provided for free and in abundant amount. The site on top of the hill is a very secluded and mowed crest of hill surrounded by dogwood trees and the invasive Autumn Olive bushes. The site above the rxrwinery.com is a secluded, mowed clearing in the mature woods. There are also 2 sites in the valley that allow you to be near your vehicle. While on my property, clothing is optional but respect for other campers is expected. If you are traveling with an RV, the Sunny Rest location is the best with campfire. This is a valley and may get soft after heavy rain. Please keep wheels near the lane if there's any question to the ground conditions and maneuvering your vehicle, please contact me. Apple product GPS will not get you to this location, use the pin on Google Maps.

Our farm has been in our family for more than 50 years. It was lovingly purchased by my Cherokee grandmother with the intention of gifting each of her children a piece of land. In 2008, we began raising bison here, and we chose the name Cherokee Valley to honor my heritage and the extraordinary gift passed down from my grandmother and mother.
We created this tipi experience to share that gift with you.
Your Tipi Stay
Spend the night in our spacious 22-foot tipi, thoughtfully placed to immerse you in the sights and sounds of the ranch. Inside, you’ll find a comfortable queen platform bed provided for your convenience. Guests should bring their own sleeping bags, linens, pillows, and blankets.
The tipi comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests—two on the provided queen bed, with ample room for additional cots or air mattresses you bring. Cots are available to rent as an add-on. You’re also welcome to pitch additional tents or hang hammocks in the surrounding trees, allowing space for up to 10 guests total.
The Ranch Experience
Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch is a working ranch, home to plains bison, honeybees, chickens, and peafowl. We are proud to be a Certified Wildlife Habitat, Certified Firefly Habitat and Monarch Waystation.
Explore our scenic hiking trails that wind through rolling hills, wildflowers, and native grasses. Nature lovers will delight in the abundance of birds, butterflies, and wildlife throughout the property. After your hike, cool off in the clear, pristine creek bordering the ranch (water shoes recommended).
As evening settles in, enjoy a wood-fired meal prepared over your private fire pit/grill, then watch the sunset paint the valley in golden light. Fall asleep to the call of hoot owls, and wake to the soft morning glow filtering through the tipi’s beautifully painted translucent cover.

We’re conveniently located near several wineries, breweries, and outdoor recreation areas, including kayaking, canoeing, golfingnd biking. We’re also close to Legend Valley concert venue, and just a short drive from Buckeye Lake, Dillon Dam, and Hocking Hills.

From our parking area, our private campsite is a short walk (3-4 minutes) across pasture and wooded trail and empties on to a level forest understory ideal for your hammock or tent. Our campsite is equipped with the necessities: a firepit with a removable grill, a table, your own private outhouse, and unlimited sights and sounds of nature.
Trails leading from the campsite will usher you short distances to one of our best stargazing hilltops, down to the shallow creek running along the campsite trail, through shaded forests and ridgetop views. Our pond, a short 7 minute hike, offers fishing, swimming or simply relaxing on the dock. For longer hikes, all trails connect to our larger network of maintained trails winding over hill and dale, through shaded forests and open pasture trails offering the hiker farm-life views across our 80 acres.

The land, the cabin, and Aimee were absolutely amazing! Everything was clean & tranquil, I can't wait to visit again. Am going to bring my kids along next time for sure.

I originally booked a tent site but, when we arrived, there was a terrible wind advisory. She accommodated us with one of her primitive cabins (cedar sanctuary). We booked the sauna which was nice for a cold morning and the essential oils smelled so good!! Perfect weekend getaway for some alone time. We will definitely be returning.

Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm
We absolutely love staying at cattail cabin! Cute, cozy with a nice deck overlooking the pond to relax on, not too far of a walk from parking. 10/10 would stay again.💝 Lots of great earthworks and hiking in the area like the Highland nature sanctuary/Appalachian Forest Museum.

78 degrees in march and i just had to get out on a hiking/camping trip. Was my first time to Hocking Hills and this camping spot is an ideal spot for exploring all the popular sites and trails! With a nice babbling brook running through the property and tall trees that sway in the wind it was just what I needed to reset and reconnect with nature after a long winter and a long day of hiking!
Definitely recommend!

Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm
I went to Fruitdale in February, after two snowstorms and a big thaw, and so it was very muddy! And still I loved it so much. Couldn’t help but walk the trails even in the mud. It was so beautiful and quiet, although my guess is that it is hoppin’ in the summertime :). I stayed in the sugar shack, which is PERFECT for winter, because it is warm thanks to the wood burning stove. I love going off grid when I can and this is one of the first places I’ve found that really lets you do that even in winter. I loved the sauna, loved the incredible attention to detail in the design of the sugar shack. It is perfect. The creek was frozen over when I arrived and thawed when I left and it was just beautiful both ways. Can’t wait to come back :)

We had an excellent time! We didn’t get to explore much around the camping area due to weather, but we stayed very warm with the wood stove! Everything was so cute and the amenities were so nice! We ended up being over prepared because so much was already provided. Located perfectly to go spend the day at the multiple surrounding parks and trail systems!

Weekend Trip to Woody Acres
We had a wonderful time at the Peppermint Patty Wagon. Austin and Kate were great hosts!
The P.P.W. was a nice camping trailer.
The outdoor kitchen is right up near trailer. We had booked fishing with Austin, that went good. We could not catch any fish because of the weather now, but Austin was too good at it. He even taught us filleting and that was sweet.
We didn’t get to see much of Kate, she was off with her work. But Austin was around like always when we needed something. Also, genuinely impressed by Austin’s knowledge.

3 nights at Fruitdale Farm
It was an absolutely beautiful little spot. Nestled in the woods, listening to the owls and coyotes at night over dinner. We are an off grid/ back pack camping couple but will definitely be going back to visit the sugar shack. The town is also very friendly and quaint. We had an amazing time just being out in nature and marking another camping trip in the books.
