Favorite trip so far!!!
Carrie’s place was amazing! I have only dreamed of having an experience like she has provided here. The Tipi was incredible! She provided everything you could think of and may need. We felt so comfortable. It was beautiful! The stars were the best I’ve seen around! The sounds of the farm life at nigbt were sooo neat! It felt like we were out West, where I am from! Thank you so much for creating this amazing experience! We plan to be back!!

We loved staying in the tipi on Carie’s land. What a great piece of property with the grazing bison and free range chickens next to the tipis! Tipi had everything you needed to have a nice night under the stars. Will be back again.

Bison Tipi Retreat
It’s just an hour outside of Columbus, close to Buckeye Lake, and it’s a beautiful piece of property with bison, chicken and peacocks. There are also hiking trails on property to explore. The tipi was a novel experience and the amenities for camping provided were excellent! Would definitely recommend

We had a wonderful experience at the Tipi! It was very well equipped, private, quiet, with beautiful views. We enjoyed a wonderful fire outside, as well as the one I side that kept the chill off. Our hosts were so incredibly helpful - taking us out to see the bison and answering our many questions, showing us where the trail was, bringing a cot, providing a dozen fresh home raised eggs.

Best camping experience!
We had such a great time staying at Carie’s camp sites. My friend and I last minute we’re looking for a waterproof place to stay for our camping trip and this did not disappoint! It was such a unique and cool experience. The Tipis were very waterproof, comfortable and safe! The directions were incredibly easy and we loved the property. The bison were so beautiful. Carie and jerrod were amazing host! Highly recommend this place.

Tipi camping
My first time in the tipi was perfect! Property was beautiful and secluded with a lot of farm animals and wildlife. Nights were chilly in the end of September but I lit a small fire and was pretty cozy by myself with a couple blankets. I enjoyed my stay and the hosts were very accommodating and friendly! I will definitely be coming back to stay here in the future!

3rd time visit. Worth it every time
Despite the rain, my family had a wonderful time sitting by the fire and having some down town after a crazy first week of school. The tipi is clean- the bed is comfy. The trails around the farm are simple enough just to take a simple stroll. This was our 3 visit. Love it every time. Carrie always is happy to show my kids around the chicken coop and let them help gather eggs. The peacocks are beautiful and the bison are majestic.

Bison Tipi Retreat
My boys and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the farm. They loved the tipi and cooking bison burgers over the fire. We were all blown away by all the all the stars we were able to see at night. Very cool experience.

Weekend with the Buffalo
The Tipi stay was so awesome! We took our two dogs with us and they absolutely loved exploring and seeing the Buffalo. The tipi site was clean yet perfect for living in the elements. Even though it rained the tipi structure kept us dry. Carie is an amazing host and lets you purchase Buffalo meat, farm eggs, wood. Had potable water and provided shade by our tipi. The land, and the Buffalo are so amazing and having coffee over the fire and eggs for breakfast and being surrounded by nature was so calming and peaceful. And Carie was always available if we needed suggestions on local restaurants and sites to visit. If you are thinking about staying at the Cherokee Bison Ranch in the Tipi, you will not be disappointed and will love it. Such a great experience. We are so greatful for Carie. Thank you for such a great weekend. We loved staying at the ranch and will be back soon.

We had a great weekend at the Bison Ranch. Carie was an amazing host and the Tipi was perfect. The site was secluded and had everything we needed for easy set up and cooking. We had amazing bison burgers and eggs right from the ranch and this was a great location to go hike in Hocking Hills. We will definitely be back!

I couldn’t have chose a better place for a little getaway. Carie was amazing and super responsive! I was the only guest during my visit so i had the whole land to myself, very secluded and not alot of noise, apart from the animals (which is super nice). There was so many beautiful things on the property like the Bison, a creek, Monarch conservatory and more pretty sites. If i ever find myself in the area again i know where to stay!

Super impressed! The Tipi and entire setup is exceptional. We loved everything about our stay. The picnic table and fire ring are convenient and the space to explore around the property made for a memorable time. The kids loved seeing the Bison and hiking around the wildflowers. Carie is a very nice host and we enjoyed learning about some of the animals. This is a unique spot!

Bison Tipi Retreat
Wonderful Experience!
This was my first experience with HipCamp and it was absolutely wonderful. The site was very peaceful and secluded. We enjoyed the small stream, playing corn hole on the boards provided, sleeping in the tipi (didn’t even get wet in the rain) and exploring the area. Carie was an amazing host. She reached out ahead of time, helped make sure we had everything we needed and made several recommendations for things to do. Highly recommend.

What a great experience
What a wonderful place to stay. Really enjoyed staying in the tipi. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Nice to have a small fire pit in the tipi. The water container and extra kitchen stuff was a welcome addition. Best outhouse so far on Hipcamp. Gets an A+ for ingenuity and cleanliness. Carrie was a gracious host.
Nana’s and Papa’s in town is a good breakfast spot.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Carie’s tipi retreat and loved it. It was spacious and secluded. She supplied all the necessities for a perfect stay. If you get the chance order the Buffalo burgers, they were amazing! We are definitely coming back.

Unforgettable!
An unforgettable experience! Our family loved every part of our two night stay at the ranch. Living in the city our children had never seen that amount of fireflies and stars at night! Carie was amazing! She gave us an awesome educational tour about the bison. We learned so much ... 100% a must experience for all ages!

Bison Tipi Retreat
We loved the teepee and all the extras at Cherokee Valley. Carie and Jarrod were quick to respond to our messages, and very hospitable and kind hosts.
We loved the creek nearby, the fireflies in the evening were my favorite part. We had a fire outside and a fire inside the first night. The second night of rain kept us inside with a fire and it was a great experience. The Buffalo, peacocks, and chickens were such a sweet sight each day.

Bison Tipi Retreat
A true American experience
Man where do I begin, what an awesome stay! How about I start with the host, Carie Starr. Carie is the owner of Cherokee valley bison ranch on which the tipi is located, and together with her husband, care for all the bison providing them with a good, happy life before they are sent to bison heaven to become delicious patties and ground meat (both of which are available at their farm store and highly recommended!).
Upon my arrival, Carie was outside ready to greet me with a welcoming smile. At the request of my curiosity, she gave a brief history lesson about how the bison used to roam freely across all of north America and the critical role they played in the indigenous cultures that existed hundreds of years ago. This really helped set the vibe for my stay, making it feel like I was stepping back into time to experience how the native Americans lived on these same lands.
Once I finally made my way to the camp site, I was immediately impressed by the large tipi structure, along with the well kept property it sits on. It was everything the description said it would be but what they cant express through text is how surreal and scenic it is to be there with a tipi and bison all in the same frame of vision. It is a great space for self reflection and an opportunity to tap into a frequency that is more in tune with nature.
I would highly recommend this to anyone, hosts are great and provide just about everything you could need to enjoy your stay. THANKS CARIE!!

Bison Tipi Retreat
Great campsite!
My 6 year old son and I had a great time at the tipi! We enjoyed wading in the creek (connected by a short trail to the campsite) as well as fires both inside and outside the tipi. We walked around and saw the bison as well as chickens and peacocks. There's a lot of space around the site and we played soccer, football, and baseball. I enjoyed how remote the site felt. It was very quiet. The tipi and campsite are well appointed and its clear much thought has gone in to making sure you have a good experience. We'll be back!

Peace-Peaches and Quiet
We love it here. Peaches the Bison is getting so big. The Tipi site is very cozy inside and out. Carie has gone out of their way both times to make sure our family has the best time. Highly recommend if you are looking for a spot to just relax and spend time with family.

Bison Tipi Retreat
We had a great trip, and enjoyed everything about it! The girls loved the tour of the ranch and loved playing in the creek and watching the buffalo, holding the chicken Suzie and petting Peaches. The rainstorm was relaxing and enjoyed listening to all the animal sounds at night.
