It's our honor to serve you, we invite you to let us host your camping adventure. Wild Ridge Campsites are nestled between Hocking and Vinton county hills on the ridge where you are able to view the horizon and enjoy the warm shady sunrise and beautiful sunsets. If you are looking for a different experience that is off the beaten path but close to all the local attractions you have found it. Our private property is located on a township road that is no longer maintained past our residents resulting in trails. We are off road vehicle friendly, Four-wheel or all wheel drive is recommended but not required. We are located in South Bloomingville, Ohio (43152), just 15 minutes from Ash Cave and Old Man’s Cave, with many other landscapes to experience nearby and if you want to explore further, Lake Hope State Park is only a 37-minute drive away. 🌲 Upcoming Accommodations Shellbark Hickory Hide-away: Our new lodging and glamping option is coming soon! 🏕️Current Amenities and Experience Our sites offer a rustic, authentic outdoor experience while we put the finishing touches on our modern utilities: Outlook Haven and Cherry Tree campsites are two designated camping sites for RVs and any size campers that can be reserved for any type of camping experience with full hookups at each site. There is one designated primitive campsite at Bigfoot Pathway which is designed for smaller vehicles offering a unique lower level for setting up your tent and area for a campfire with plenty of other space to enjoy. Also we provide primitive dispersed tent only camping areas in our back woods. Firewood: we provide your initial firewood, with more available on-site. RV/Campsite Hookups: FULL HOOKUP , Septic and Electric and Water hookups are ready and available! all three stages 50 amp, 30 amp, and also 110v/20 amp. are available for you to choose from at the Cherry Tree and Outlook Haven campsites. Water and Bathing: Guests can access water for drinking and bathing at the outdoor spigots. A Portable toilet is available for all campsites. Welcome to Whispering Pines camping area! Please allow for 12 hour notice depending on weather conditions it can be instant booking, just contact us. before so we can meet and greet to show you our very private backwoods primitive nomadic camping area Whispering Pines. Also we provide a flexible full refund 24 hours before check-in at this camping area due to weather conditions also we provide rescheduling or providing another available campsite for you inside our campground area after the 24 hour period. We now have 3 optional tent areas for you to choose at Whispering Pines. AWD or 4WD is required for parking at the camping area of Whispering Pines. It is a dispersed PRIMITIVE camping area which is always open for a 5 minute short walk in for 2WD cars. Depending on weather conditions two-wheel drive cars can park in the parking area at Whispering Pines but it is always open for anyone for a short 5 minute walk. One vehicle per site is allowed in the parking area at Whispering Pines more parking is available in the park and ride area on our property. Ohio has seasonal, statewide ban on open burning (NO CAMPFIRES) This ban is in effect between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. during March, April, May, October and November of each year. Campfires are only allowed in the designated area "MEET IN THE MIDDLE". FOR A LITTLE PEACEFUL FUN CAMPSITE WHISPERING PINES CAMPING AREA NOW PROVIDES A MARKED HIKING TRAIL. Pet information: The first two pets are included at no additional charge. A pet fee of $5 will apply for each additional pet beyond the first two. Please keep pets always supervised :⁠-⁠) 🙂 and on leash. If you would like to book the whole Whispering Pines area for your privacy it will be an additional $15 dollars. THANK YOU and we hope you decide to choose us for your camping adventure! Porta potty is available inside our campground area. Water spicket at our barn can be used for water. Trash bin will be available. Leave no trace. Clean up after yourself. Do not leave unattended campfire. Make sure to extinguish campfire. As you enter, Outlook Haven is the first campsite on the right. Huge flat level, beautiful location easy accessible with a good view of the sunset horizon. Enjoy this area with ELECTRIC and SEPTIC and WATER! HOOKUP AT CAMPSITE! 4WD is recommended for all RV's. But not required for any other type of camping experience the campsite is 2WD accessible. Very easily accessible access to many trails right from camping. When you enter, Cherry Tree campsite is the First site on the left. 4WD is recommended for all RV's. But not required for any other type of camping experience, the campsite is 2WD accessible. Beautiful place, Very easily accessible access to many trails right from camping. Enjoy this area with FULL HOOKUP, ELECTRIC and SEPTIC and WATER! HOOKUP AT CAMPSITE! You can also park your rig at a (slant / angle "caddy-corner") to provide more privacy Campsite Cherry Tree is located near the landscape trail marker cherry tree. This was the first campsite that we started, a special site beside a very interesting tree. Taking a look into history and the stories of those who came before us. Search on the web about the landscape (marker-pointer) trees very interesting not sure if this cherry tree was made this way or it developed naturally but it’s neat to think of history of how people and Indians marked trails. Bigfoot Pathway camping area is a designated primitive campsite. When you pull in it is the 2nd camping site located the on right side. It is for tents and smaller vehicles. You can pull in or back into the campsite (you will have to back out) This site has a unique lower level for your camping area to put tent, picnic area, camp fire and plenty of other space to enjoy! (2WD) two wheel drive vehicles should park on top level, For bottom level parking with towed vehicles 4 wheel drive (4WD) or all wheel drive (AWD) is Required. There is a portable restroom available for all campsites. TLDR: Good access to Hocking Hills. Likely best for off-road folks and/or small to medium RVers. Great price and ability to hold larger crowds may balance a few rough edges. . Full review: Overall we enjoyed our time at Outlook Haven, with more pros than cons, so a mixed bag. I think for certain folks it would be great (larger groups, ATC users). On the plus side, the hosts were kind and responsive. One of our party ended up switching from campervan to tent and the hosts let us spread out to the other site that had a more comfortable tenting experience. That was a super gift for us. The sites have good shade and a wide variety of birds . The electrical, sewer, and water are all convenient and the shared portapotty is close but not too close by. On the negative side, they are still developing the areas so there are minor issues such the rocks aren't yet smooth and compacted, the picnic table needs sanding on the edges, and the water spigot sprayed into the ground causing mud on the edge of the campsite. I would imagine, had we been in an RV, those might not have been problems at all. And we were able to work around all of them as well. RVs though might have some trouble getting up the hill to the campsite. There is heavy 4x4/ATC options around the area, including some you can get to straight from the site. That wasn't our thing, but if its yours, I imagine this would be a great location!

We had a fantastic stay! The host was incredibly accommodating from start to finish, making us feel welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed. Communication was prompt and friendly, and they went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. The campsite was exactly as described, and it was clear that a lot of care has gone into creating a great space for guests. We truly appreciated the host’s flexibility and hospitality. We’d gladly stay again and highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a relaxing and hassle-free camping experience.

The campsites were thoughtfully stocked with firewood and there were cooking grates on the fire pits. Great dark sky viewing and generally quiet except for a couple hours of the neighbor playing some music, but it didn’t bother us. Cleanest port-a-john I’ve ever seen! Would definitely recommend!

Wild Ridge was a delightful and peaceful place to camp. With only a few campsites available, we had the luxury of sharing the area with just two other couples during our stay, making it feel quite private. The full hookups at our site were a great convenience. While the campground is still a work in progress, it offered excellent value for the price. One area noted for improvement is around the fire pit; it could use some leveling to make seating more comfortable. However, the provided firewood was a nice touch, as purchasing wood can add up quickly, and it's best not to transport it from other places. Although they mentioned selling wood as well, we found ourselves settling in for the night after a day of hiking and dinner, which made the supplied wood the perfect amount. If you're someone who enjoys the amenities of a KOA, this might not be the spot for you. However, for those who prefer remote sites and the chance to escape the crowds, Wild Ridge offers a great balance. Overall, we had a wonderful time and are likely to return!

They are still working on some landscaping and moving stuff around but in the next year I think it will be an amazing spot and the view was great. Running water and electric at the campsite were nice. Owners are very friendly and lots of great trails in the area.

Mark and Jody were very accommodating, thier property is fairly private, the portapotty was clean and stocked . The directions were accurate and the 3 sites were well marked. Improvements are still in progress but it was still a great site. The best part of all was the price on firewood . At 35$ a tote i was able to have a nice well stocked fire for 2 day's and only used half of what was provided. Absolutely loved this site and would definitely recommend it. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful property up a little mountain, they are working on getting power and water setup and the area is very much still a work in progress but it's getting there, very few neighbors and your on the edge of a ridge with great views. The family is very kind and even ran an extension cord out for us to have power, it let us put up our outdoor lights and made for an awesome extended weekend. Your close to all the awesome caves and falls. Highly recommend!
