Best kept secret in Happy Valley

Our second time here, we love it! Secluded and spacious, just right for a spontaneous getaway near a babbling creek. Matt is super responsive and we enjoyed a nice 3.5 mile hike in nearby Bald Eagle State Park. We'll definitely be back again!

Site 3 was very private and a great spot to camp. Marsh creek is literally a couple steps from the tent site and my boys age 11 and 13 had tons of fun fishing while we camped.

Matt has the best camp sites and is an awesome host! The owl cove is really cool, has a great set up and open area with a fire pit and easy walk to the creek. I will definitely stay here again!

Worth the 4 hr trip for us!

The spot was a generous size & our neighboring site was empty so we had privacy the entire time which was such a plus. (I am indeed a camping snob and dislike crowds lol). Matt was kind enough to leave us some wood upon arrival. We were close to a highway, but it didn't bother any, and it was cute to hear the Amish folks go by with their horses. In the A.M we were greeted by cows and the birds sang and it was just such a lovely way to wake up. We saw the farmers passing by on their tractors that waved at us once, then let us be. The creek water was so refreshing and sounded so serene at night. There's a dollar general about 10 min away & a superstore about 15 min away, and there are several cute farm spots along the route for fresh fruit, produce and treats. There's a dump trash at the gas station to take your trash so it didn't accumulate on the site. P.s.a. We are in nature, so if you don't like bugs, camping anywhere isn't for you. We are in thier home, so we just let nature be nature, and nothing bothered us enough that a simple shooing didn't easily resolve. We saw daddy long legs,(harmless) spiders, worms, beetles, ants, etc and thankfully not a single tick. We appreciated that immensely! We actually enjoyed the space so much we ended up adding an extra day, and are already planning another trip to bring some friends. Matt was super chill and willing to help with any of our needs..but honestly we were golden. We really truly enjoyed this space. ❣️

This was a great spot! The sounds of the creek flowing by, the ripe mulberries, the hospitality of our hosts. As an herbalist it was so cool to be nestled near a field of oats and corn. Depending on what time of year you’re there will determine if the corn is high enough to block the road on the far side. Even though we could see cars in the distance, it wasn’t a problem. The road near the creek is more visible, so bring something to provide privacy from the occasional car or horse and buggy. We appreciated Matt letting us know about muddy conditions at the spot we booked. He let us stay in another location for a night, and then showed us to our spot where we stayed for the next two nights. Peaceful and cozy, we’d love to return!

This is a great spot, right beside the water. You are near a bridge & cars do drive by but its not busy & the trees create great privacy. Shade, fire pit & port-a-john were great. Super responsive host & easy to find.

What a great spot! We stopped for one night while en route to Woodstock. The spot was easy to find with host’s instructions and map. The spot was clean and cute. It’s right on the water which adds a great water flow soundtrack. The host was very responsive and brought us some wood upon request. We had a peaceful rest and would return again if in the area. We could partially see another campsite from our spot but it was very distant and we never even heard them.

#2 Shady Maple By The Creek

Such a beautiful, quiet location. Even with the road being next to the site, you barely heard any cars. Falling asleep listening to the creek was so peaceful!

#4 Corn Field by Marsh Creek

We had such an awesome time during our stay! The creek had good fish to catch & release, the spot was clean and exactly as described. The host was friendly and easy to communicate with. It’s right by a semi-busy street, but it didn’t bother us one bit. We also checked out the town for local food & it was really easy to get around. We will be coming back here again!

This site is absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of room to tent camp or hammock camp. Lots of trees and very shaded and private. Firewood was ready and waiting when we got there and easy access to the site. Would definitely camp here again.

Matt has a beautiful spot that is clearly cared for! We passed through and arrived late at night, and Matt graciously met us on the road to guide us to the site. The site is super close to where you park, so it’s easy to haul in supplies. We slept great, and woke up listening to the stream that’s beside the campsite. Absolute dream!

While this site was closer to the road than I expected, it was also so spacious and still managed to feel private. The portapotty felt pretty far, and it wasn’t a walk I was willing to make in the middle of the night. Access to the water was nice was definitely nice to have, especially as it got so warm our second day there. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again.

Very easy to book. All accommodations and requests met. Beautiful, quiet setting. Firewood on hand, huge fire ring and plenty of bench seating, picnic table on site.

Simple and Easy escape!

Spur of the moment escape to Matt's land, first time hipcamping! Perfect directions, secluded just enough, and the firewood bundles that we bought ahead of time made everything so easy. Our host was very nice, but everything was detailed so nicely, we didn't need to bother him except to check-in when we arrived.
