I stayed at primitive site 4 and loved it! It was very secluded,which I really like when camping. Awesome there was very easy access to the creek,had a couple of tables and endless firewood for $10! It poured one day when I stayed. The creek didn’t rise and there was no flooding. A lot of coverage from the trees but a pop up is a great idea to bring. Port a potties were clean and convenient. Not far from some cute towns(Lewisburg and Selinsgrove) and some state parks. The only thing that could use some improvement are the stairs down to the site. They were manageable but I think it would make taking things up and down more safe. There is a bit of traffic noise from across the creek but t the sound of the water drowns it out so it wasn’t unbearable. I am definitely booking this site again!

We loved camping at Mahanoy Creek Campground! My son enjoyed fishing in the creek and playing in the water. Site was great!

Overall, it was an alright experience. The cabin is unfinished inside and hot with no fans so be prepared for that. There's a campfire outside and a river within view of the cabin and you can park your car up next to the cabin. I'd say with this price point get more of an airbnb for yourself, but if you want to be in this specific area, stay at the campsites here, there's fire pits at the campsites that are also located next to the river and they're beautiful.

I love camping here so much! The creek is so much fun. I like the size of the site. It was perfect for us. The dogs had the best time running in and out of the creek all day long. We all slept great! Firewood, for all you can burn for $10 a day is a great deal as well. We will definitely be back. The sites are a 30 minute drive to Knoebels. So nice to escape people! Thank you Mark!

We loved site 4. Very private, right on the water, all shade, no sunlight at the site which was great considering it was over 100 degrees. We loved tubing down the creek and just laying in our tubes tied to rocks right in front of the site! We fit 2 tents, a 4 and a 6 person tent with enough room to cook and make a bathroom! Would definitely recommend this site and Mark was awesome!!!

Beautiful camp area separated from the other camp sites. Easy access to the creek and close to public land for fun exploring and hiking. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and I would definitely stay here again.

We had such a great stay at this place! It was a relaxing weekend right on the creek. It’s very shaded and a very large area to pitch your tent/hang out. We had so much fun and Mark was great! It also gives you a ton of privacy and feels like you are camping in the woods. The bathroom was also very clean!! Definitely recommend

Wonderful site. We were at site two, which after surveying all the sites is easily the best. We had a wonderful time, only caveats I would give is that a main road is 100-150 away and sometimes breaks that outdoors immersion and directions on Hipcamp to get to the site were a bit confusing but no complaints otherwise.

Literal Hideaway On a Large Creek

Great spot well away from other sites and literally right on the water. Heavy cover from trees so nice and shady. Site was not very "buggy" and nobody in my party got a tick though we did employ repellent. Flat space is somewhat at a premium but you can definitely place 2-3 tents. Access is via fairly steep stairs and slope but there is a railing. I would say hiking boots are a necessity. Those with leg mobility issues are probably better off at the other sites which are more easily accessed. Moderate rain for most of the trip raised the creek level a bit but not to where there was any fear of cresting the edge. Very clean porta-potty maybe 75-100' away on the access road. 24-hour Sunoco/7-11 about a 10-15 minute drive away. Mark is a great host, very communicative and responsive. Cost of wood was very reasonable.

Perfect Relaxing Weekend

This was a perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Quietly tucked alongside the creek, the rushing water lulled us to sleep each night.
Mark and his family are kind and considerate, checking in on us and making sure that we had all that we needed for a great stay.
Simple site perfect for primitive campers, close to great hiking and some quaint towns with quirky antique shops and other spots.

I had such a relaxing stay here. The campsite is tucked away in the woods by a beautiful creek, close enough to the road for convenience, but secluded enough to really feel like a nature escape. Falling asleep to the sound of the water was so peaceful. The unlimited daily firewood bundle was a huge plus and made evenings by the fire extra cozy. There are also some nice little walking trails along the creek that add to the charm of the site.The host was incredibly welcoming. Nearby, I was able to pick up handmade soap and local honey from a local farm. Overall, this spot is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature. Highly recommend!

Perfect little getaway
Cute little riverside cabin. Just loved it here. Plenty of firewood on site and easy to find with the directions. 15 mins away from my favorite winery and food at spyglass ridge. I will definitely stay again next winery trip.
