The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Note that we are always working to improve our slice of heaven, thus we do have tools, vehicles, and equipment stored around the farm that if not used now will be one day. We appreciate your understanding that some areas are used for our personal / farm storage. If you're not into looking at our farmware, there are a few nearby campgrounds.
The hot tub is located next to the owner's home. Guests are welcome to use this at any time but must reserve and pay for a time slot. * Book this through the Extras *
We are within walking distance of Swatara State Park and close to the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to the local winery, bowling alley, pub/diner, and movie theater. Grocery stores and gas are also nearby. Miles of hiking, rail trail, single-track mountain biking, and kayaking are all right here! See our kayak and bike rentals under extras!
Hershey Park is approximately a 30-minute drive from our location. Rausch Creek, Anthracite, and Reading off-road areas are also nearby.

All lodging sites have heating for your comfort and are available year round! The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night.
Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October.
In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be.
The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience.
Contact us to coordinate for larger group bookings. Please note that a significant portion of county tax/fees and cancellation or change fees may be avoided by booking the base amount of people (4) and at a much later date adding extra guests. Guests NOT occupying canvas tent (lodging) and bringing their own tents should not be paying an occupancy tax but there is no provision for this in the app. We do not want our guests paying taxes -- that benefit no one but useless bureaucracy! Sixty acres of magical trees, a one acre pond, and a three acre field. From the road there is a two hundred foot elevation gain to the top of the hill. Along the way are several hundred feet of rock ledges, caves, and critters. Most of the land is sloping, but the hilltop is flat as a table, with prehistoric-looking ferns under a dense canopy of mature trees.
The campsites are ultra secluded- about a quarter mile apart from each other. All sites include a fire pit, cooking grate, picnic table, and sites 2&3 have platforms.
Camp ONE: is on the top of the hill, and a small car can be driven to within 150 feet of it. It is pretty flat, and surrounded by blackberry bushes, ferns, and trees.
Camp TWO: is on a bluff overlooking a picturesque swamp, filled with hemlock trees and ferns. This site can not be driven to with anything less than a high clearance SUV (ie- jeep wrangler), so I consider it a hike in site. It is under a ten minute walk from the pond and parking lot, but the view and feel is worth it. (It has been brought to our attention that there is occasionally a group riding atvs on a neighboring property that are audible from this site. We have no control over what time it happens, so please keep this in mind)
Camp THREE: is accessible with a four wheel drive vehicle, something at least as high as an SUV. It is the closest to the house and pond, but still far enough to feel secluded and completely private. If you choose to walk there, it’s only a couple minutes from the parking area.
Throughout the property, there are many quiet places to hang out, flat spots to do yoga, trails to explore, and fishing and swimming in the beautiful pond. We are also just ten minutes from the Upper Delaware River, and all it has to offer.

We purchased our dream homestead in 2020, and we would love to share it with others as we build it to become bountiful and as self-sustaining as possible.

Camp next to a peaceful trickling creek just outside Phoenixville and Kimberton. We are a suburban oasis, surrounded by a little bit of everything.
Our homestead has plenty of activity including kids, dogs, chickens, and bees! We have a fully wooded area available to explore across the creek, and weather dependent- the creek is a great place to stay cool. You'll see lots of growing fruit trees in our developing orchard and we are happy to share our vision for this beautiful land!
We have two campsites available for you to choose between for your stay. Both sites are along the creek, however, one has a view of some nearby houses and is a short walk to the parking spot [Creekside]. The other site is more secluded, past the tree line, but a further walk from where you are able to park. [Hillside] If needed, we are happy to lend you a wagon to haul your gear. Please let us know if you have questions and your preference of site.
We have a cabin-like bathroom and partial kitchen you will have access to during your stay. We always have cold water available for purchase in the fridge.

There is trail access easily accessible from our home (the closest is approximately 1 mile), for paved or natural trail exploration. We are are a great stopping point for cyclists enjoying the area.
It's a short drive to downtown Phoenixville with some of the best breweries around. Phoenixville is home to a great farmers market on Saturday mornings and numerous festivals. Also, close-by is the lovely quaint village of Kimberton, home of the best organic grocery store, cidery, and many opportunities for hiking and small farms. We are happy to provide recommendations of places in the immediate area.

Welcome to Nanny’s Rustic Retreat, an adults-only getaway in the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania. Our outdoor guest areas are clothing optional, so guests can relax in whatever feels comfortable.
Choose the stay that suits you: book an individual cabin, or reserve the entire outdoor retreat for a private group getaway. When cabins are booked individually, outdoor amenities are shared with other guests. A whole-retreat booking gives your group private use of the outdoor property.
Enjoy a seasonal swimming pool with a private enclosure, deck, lounge chairs, and umbrellas; a four-person hot tub in its own fenced area; fire pits and outdoor seating; two propane grills; bidet restrooms and showers; and peaceful wooded surroundings.
Nanny’s Rustic Retreat is a welcoming setting for LGBTQ+ getaways, wellness and spiritual retreats, men’s retreats, yoga and meditation groups, or a weekend with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed, rustic, and respectful.
Good to know: Guests must be 18 or older. Pets are not permitted. Clothing is a personal choice in the outdoor guest areas, and all guests are asked to respect one another’s comfort and privacy.

We are a community in Northwestern Pennsylvania located outside the town of Springboro. Many people come through the area to visit Lake Erie. Others come in to hunt in the nearby state game lands. Fishermen especially seek places to stay, but they can be hard to find. We look forward to welcoming them to our community.
One of our residents has a greenhouse with beautiful plants and another sells honey. In town, our neighbor has a hunting store that includes an indoor simulated archery experience. Up the road is Chupp's Country Cupboard, an Amish store that offers fresh and unique items.

It has a great setup that feels very woodsy and private, with its own tent platform, prep station and stone firepit. Dan was super accommodating, and even gave us a jumpstart on our way out after I was dumb and somehow drained my car battery!

We had to most lovely time on this beautiful property. We had hospitable hosts who were a joy to talk to and cute animals to give us company in such a cozy house. The surrounding area is quiet and very relaxing - we’d love to come again!

Weekend Trip to Fairview Farms Airfield
Amazing as always. My son and I love coming here. From the beautiful open space and solitude (we rarely see other people but when we do meet other campers, they are always nice), to the amazing night skies and the bathroom and running water- you can’t beat this place. Weekend Trip to The River's Edge
This was our 4th time staying here and as always, we absolutely loved it! The weather was pretty crappy this time around, but honestly, it didn’t even matter. Don’t ever let the weather stop you from coming here. There’s just something about this spot that we love no matter what.
Thomas is an amazing host and always goes above and beyond. He’s one of the reasons we keep coming back.
Four trips here and it still hasn’t disappointed us. We love this place and will definitely be back again!
