Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer.
We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities.
Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups.
On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards.
For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent.
Campers must be less than 24 feet.
Generators are not allowed.
Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm.
There are no water hookups.
Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons.
Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350.
Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them.
Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance.
We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Note that we are always working to improve our slice of heaven, thus we do have tools, vehicles, and equipment stored around the farm that if not used now will be one day. We appreciate your understanding that some areas are used for our personal / farm storage. If you're not into looking at our farmware, there are a few nearby campgrounds.
The hot tub is located next to the owner's home. Guests are welcome to use this at any time but must reserve and pay for a time slot. * Book this through the Extras *
We are within walking distance of Swatara State Park and close to the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to the local winery, bowling alley, pub/diner, and movie theater. Grocery stores and gas are also nearby. Miles of hiking, rail trail, single-track mountain biking, and kayaking are all right here! See our kayak and bike rentals under extras!
Hershey Park is approximately a 30-minute drive from our location. Rausch Creek, Anthracite, and Reading off-road areas are also nearby.

The Roller-Coaster Road Ranch offers many maintained trails, perfect for hiking. The property is mainly forested, but does contain numerous open spaces perfect for a rustic camping experience. The farm has a few large open fields that are plowed and planted seasonally. Various wildlife populates the area; whitetail deer, turkey, black bear, and bald eagles. A stocked trout stream passes through portions of the property and connects to a larger stream with many options for swimming, wading, and crayfish hunting. The Trout Camp site is located at the confluence of two trout streams at the valley bottom, it is an open wooded area in view of a dirt road. The Main Bridge site is located along a trout stream in the valley, offers the most privacy, and is gated. The Valley View site is located at the top of a hill along side a cornfield, with spacious views, beautiful sunsets, and cell service, but does not offer direct access to the trout streams.

All ready for your summer expedition! Completely sealed up and draft free. Still a very primitive site, but the interior now keeps in the warmth from the fireplace. A set of bunk beds and a 4 seat table as well as some cots makes it work for up to 6 people. Plenty of tent area around of you have a bigger group!
Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 40 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods.
Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking, frisbee course and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away.
Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter.
The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away.
It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs.
We provide a bunk bed and cots and a picnic table.
There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents.
There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin,
but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures.
The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk!
If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover.

Just outside the quaint town of Austin sits a vivid reminder of one of Pennsylvania's worst disasters – the Austin Flood. In 1909, the dam was constructed on Freeman Run to power the Bayless Papermill downstream. Many wondered if the dam was safe. On September 30, 1911, Austin found out. Poor construction, coupled with torrential rain, resulted in the dam's collapse. Nearly 400 million gallons of water were released, destroying everything for 8 miles. At least 78 people perished in the tragedy. It was the second worst flood disaster in Pennsylvania's history and sixth worst dam failure in U.S. history. The tragedy sparked new legislation to improve dam safety, and the Austin Dam was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The ruins of the dam still stand, surrounded by a 76-acre park, as a tribute to the lives lost in the Austin Flood. Don't miss one of Potter County's best kept secrets!

The babbling creek was so peaceful to listen to! It was a great site. Our teardrop uses solar and the area we choose within the site was perfect! We were also able to use our starlink mini as well. We hung the hammock next to the creek. It was so relaxing! It was nice when reserving the site to have the option of getting firewood delivered to our site. The host, Alvy, was friendly and helpful as well.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Clarion Heights Campground! Our host was kind enough to upgrade us to "The Small Spot on the Hill," and we couldn't have been happier. It was an incredibly well thought out and put together campsite, and I would highly recommend it.
One thing that really stood out was the firewood. This might seem like a small detail, but it was honestly above and beyond anything I've experienced at most campgrounds. It was raining pretty heavily when I went to start our fire, and I had absolutely no trouble getting it going. The wood was properly dried and kept covered, but what really impressed me was the attention to detail. Instead of just providing a pile of large split logs and leaving you to scrounge up your own kindling, they included a great assortment of smaller pieces along with these awesome little natural fire starters. Even in the pouring rain, getting a fire started was practically effortless!
The shower facilities were another pleasant surprise. The water got extremely hot and, more importantly, stayed that way! There was also plenty of room outside the actual shower stall to change and keep your clothes dry, something that's surprisingly easy to overlook when putting together a campground shower.
Overall, the value here was genuinely impressive. It's obvious that a lot of thought and care has gone into making this a comfortable and enjoyable place to camp. Between the excellent campsite, the generous upgrade, the fantas

Catherine’s land is tranquil and refreshing. The layout is exquisite, and being nestled right into the farm, especially if you stay at the Barn site, is unique in the very best of ways. The amenities were perfect. I can’t wait to go back so we can boondock at The Point. Gerry is most definitely the kindest soul we have met in our lifetime. The whole town was adorable. When I say if there was a heaven in earth, this was it! If I had the opportunity to spend my days out here, I would! The horses all have a story and they'll tell you if you listen. Build a rapport, build trust and you'll have them running up to you to chat in their own little language. Skye will speak through her eyes and while she's been through a lot, she just wants love. The goats do the goat thing and the pig is adorbs. He runs the farm. We stayed in the cabin and to be honest, the spiders kept the mosquitoes down, but they intimidated me so we pitched a tent by the fire. Bugs were there, but we didn't mind them outside. We made friends with a stick bug that lives on the cabin. The whole property is super cute, but it's remote. It's camping. It's an off grid cabin. The shower water was hot and pressure was good. Gerry went above and beyond due to our situation and everything falling apart at the time of booking. Literally, this camp trip rejuvenated my soul when we were in a dark place. The trouble still is present, but we are relaxed enough to tread on. We both already miss the horses. Literally heaven in earth as long as you're not a super priss. Even then, just enjoy the nature and the little slice of paradise. The hike up the hill is steep and wasn't easy. Definitely a hike but so worth it. Gratitude. Anyone who can tip him a million dollars for us, do it.

We absolutely loved our 3-night campout at Old Soul Farm. We booked the Riding Ring and loved the opportunity to sprawl out with all of our comfort and rain gear as we knew it would be storming Saturday night right into Monday. Old Soul Farm is an idyllic bucolic setting—far back from the road—and the Riding Ring offers views of a tidy small farm, a picturesque pond, and expansive fields. Also, amenities included access to potable water, a clean port-a-potty, and trash receptacle. We were able to pre-purchase wood for the portable fire pit provided—made from a washing machine drum!…though we didn’t get to meet Catherine, she was quick to respond to our reservation and emails. Mark met us to give us the lay of the land was very welcoming. Thank you, Catherine and Mark, for setting up 3 wonderful sites on your beautiful property for HipCampers. We will definitely be back!

Rustic Acres is a wonderful campground. They prioritize an experience of quiet enjoyment and the facilities are well taken care of! We will definitely come back!

We had a great time camping here! The property is so nice, as are the hosts! Loved loved loved the goats! Great fun fishing in the pond! The campsites are far enough away from each other for our liking! Beautiful area, you won’t be disappointed

Fairview farm has our favorite place to stay on top of the hill with a fantastic view of mountains. Excellent experience for a person who loves to boondock and unwind in solitude. There are also full hookups as well.

Where to go
Pennsylvania Wilds
The evocatively named Pennsylvania Wilds blanket the north and boast some of the state’s best camping and hiking. Views of Pine Creek Gorge, the “Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania,” can be enjoyed at Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks, and there are primitive tent sites and RV sites in the surrounding Tioga State Forest. To the west, the Allegheny National Forest covers more than 500,000 acres, with kayaking, ATV and mountain biking trails, and a national scenic byway.
Pittsburgh & the Great Lakes
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s second-largest city, is the first stop in the state’s southwestern corner, and several state parks lie within easy reach. Top of the list is Ohiopyle State Park, where adrenaline seekers go to raft or kayak along the white-water rapids of the Youghiogheny River. In the north, camp resorts and RV parks with full hookups dot the shores of Lake Erie, and you can hop over to the Presque Isle State Park to hike, windsurf, and bird-watch.
South-Central Pennsylvania
West of the Philadelphia region, the state capital, Harrisburg, is the gateway to the southern stretch of Pennsylvania’s Appalachian Trail. Just to the south, a day trip to the chocolate capital of Hersey is a must to stock up for all those s’mores around the campfire, and there’s back-to-basics camping in Amish Country around Lancaster. The Allegheny Mountains rise to the west, where campers can hike in the backwoods, paddle along lazy rivers, or hit the ski slopes.
East Pennsylvania
All roads in eastern Pennsylvania lead to Philadelphia, where you can dive into US history and take a peek at the Liberty Bell. For a wilderness camping experience, head north into the Poconos Mountains—there are more than 100 miles of hiking trails in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, including 28 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Further west, Ricketts Glen State Park has waterfall hikes and a family campground with yurts, cabin rentals, RV camping, and tent sites.
