Our chemical free farm is set on 45 acres overlooking the iconic Delaware Water Gap in the Pocono Mountains! We're located 1 hour from NYC and 1.5 hours from Philadelphia. There are plenty of activities within the 45 acres: hiking, fishing, farming activities, bird watching, biking all on site. We have luscious fields of sustainably produced vegetables, fruit and flowers. Explore the Delaware river from our boat launch or one of the great canoe rental companies. Hike Mt. Tammany, Ski Shawnee Mt, walk the Appalachian Trail, visit America's oldest jazz club in Delaware Water Gap or visit the dozens of water falls surrounding our farm for a swim. (Autumn is camping season in the poconos, bring blankets and plan hikes for excellent fall foliage) We have 3 camping locations which you can park near with your vehicle. They are all private camps and out of sight from others. Our camps sites are for people that like camping in the mountains and near a working farm. Our farm and the community we built is focused on sustainable living with nature, local self reliance, and kindness. Also, feel free to join us in the fields, request a tour, pet a goat, smell a pig, and check out our DIY home renovation, (built with hempcrete). Pets should not be off leash unless well behaved and pets should not be left unattended. truck campers are allowed if they're under 8 feet. Organic Farm in the Pocono Mts.
Warning
Two months ago we reserved a camping spot. We received an update on the app to notify the host of our arrival. We did so and let the host know three hours prior we were on our drive. When arriving the host did not answer through the app, did not answer his phone. When contacting Hipcamp were prompted to wait 48hrs. We did nothing wrong and no one answered us. On a holiday weekend we were left to figure out where to stay with our two small children and find a dog friendly hotel. That wasn’t cheap. Let alone the stress of two littles ones disappointed and not understanding. Apparently the policy is that the customer/camper does not at all matter. They had us fight for our refund. The refund was in the hands of the host who never answered and they are given all the time against your word and receipts. Excuses given: the host didn’t know there was a reservation, also his phone was destroyed. Hard to tell, the response had clearly edited breaks. When given our money back Hipcamp will charge YOU a service fee for it all going wrong. We were given an extra credit that will not be used. Especially as parents we can’t afford for situations like this to be possible especially without support. Plus the cost picking up the pieces. We loved Hipcamp but cannot use it again. Lesson learned is regardless of positive reviews a host can do whatever they want. Have a backup plan. They’ll probably send this review to the bottom.

Could be better priced
Overall our experience wasn’t bad, but I did feel like it was over priced for the area we camped at. We had 3 overland vehicles and it was very difficult to keep the vehicles leveled since we were not on flat ground. We were also looking to fish since we read in other reviews people were catching fish. Even though we didn’t catch anything there is one spot to cast and algae and moss everywhere so I kept losing my bait. Other than that camping is about the people you’re with but for the price I expected more.

Great DelGap campsite
Hempstead is a great farm to camp at! The host is extremely friendly and helpful, the land is beautiful and the farm animals are fun to watch. The eggs provided by Eric are delicious and perfect for a camp breakfast. The farm is also located in a great area if you enjoy hiking, shopping, eating and drinking, I highly recommend the Minisink Hotel for a good meal and drink and hiking the Dunfield Creek area on the NJ side of the Water Gap only 8 minutes away.

Great site!
Very nice camp site. Clean, open and good flat shady spot for our tent. We had the site nearest the pond and my daughter loved fishing there. She caught a ton of sunnys. Eric and his mother were great hosts. They let my daughter feed the goats and chickens. We got some fresh eggs for breakfast and Eric bright more firewood as needed.

We absolutely loved the place and the farm. We brought our two boys and could not have asked for a more perfect weekend. The hosts are amazing, and this place has a very special vibe. Highly recommended!
