This is an amazing space for camping for those that want more seclusion than a typical campground that has tents right next to you, and more safety than a national forest. I wanted to feel like I was in the wilderness without actually being in the wilderness.
The little hike is very mild and kid friendly, and the lake is beautiful and clear. We chose to have an electric hookup and it's well worth the 20 dollars- we used it for the kettle, toaster, coffee maker, and other appliances we brought with us.
The hosts provided plenty of wood and water. The ground at site 2 is rocky, so bring an air mattress or foam or something soft to sleep on if you're in a tent, which they do suggest anyway, and it'll be great.
We (husband, two kids, and myself) went on a very rainy, cold weekend, and it was still amazing! If rain does happen to be in the forecast for your trip and you plan to be in a tent, you don't need to cancel- just get a tarp that's big enough to cover your tent(s) and provide extra space to sit outside and stay dry. Even my children didn't complain once about the rain since they had space to play putside under the tarp.
We didn't hear or see another person the entire time, which is exactlywhat we were looking for amd exactly why we booked this location instead of a local traditional campground. There is only one other camp site on the property, so at most you'd see one other group. I would definitely come here again. It's peacefully private.
