Kind hosts, clear rules, and thoughtfully designed campsite. I stayed in the trailer and it was wonderful- original interior, in the charming and clean way. I would recommend!

A lovely space close to lots of hiking & natural wildlife. The accommodations were great: port-o-potties were clean, & there was a sink where we could do dishes and use potable water. I did find the host a bit pushy, however, & do think they could have been more forthcoming in their advertisement of the space. Shortly after booking through Hipcamp, I received a text message from the host Jackie with rules & expectations. She also asked what time I was planning to arrive, which I wasn’t yet sure of. One rule stated that outside firewood was strictly prohibited & that I could buy some of their wood for $13. Nowhere in the original post does it say you can’t bring your own firewood, & I can’t think of a good reason to prohibit it other than making money. Additionally, photos of the campsite show cars parked next to tents, leading us to believe car camping was permitted. However, upon arrival we were instructed to park our cars elsewhere after we unloaded. A minor inconvenience, but it did feel misleading. The day of our arrival I received another text asking for an exact ETA. I found this odd, as the rule state check-in was between 2 & 8 PM, and I have never been asked for an exact time on Hipcamp before. We texted with ETA when we were leaving the city, but it just feel like added stress for no reason. The hosts were very kind and welcoming, & Jackie even gifted us fresh cucumber from her garden. We appreciated her spirit and were grateful, but were craving more privacy.

Great Hosts.

Chris and Jackie work hard to provide you a comfortable stay. They are very responsive hosts the moment you arrive until the time you leave. PA state parks seem to have an aggressively enforced no alcohol policy. If you want to have cocktails while camping we suggest staying here.

Nice size land, very peaceful, the owners(Chris and Jackie) are very nice down to earth people with simple rules. I would highly recommend to stay. The drive to rickets Glenn is a very nice drive with scenic routes.

Most down to earth couple you'll ever meet. Always trying to make sure you have the necessities to be comfortable but also gives you your space and privacy. More privacy than you would get at a campsite. Area was beautiful and put together. Would totally come again in the near future. Highly recommend to anybody looking to camp. Thanks again Chris and Jackie!

Despite the rain, we were still able to enjoy our stay underneath Chris and Jackie's pavilion and inside their camper. They were also very kind.

Wonderful hosts! Very quiet and peaceful stay. About 20 minutes from Ricketts Glen Lower Falls. No hookups, but plenty of sun for solar. Hosts were kind enough to allow me to fill my water tank and provide additional water as needed. I was pleasantly surprised with a homemade bagel one day! Great stay!

My two young boys and I really enjoyed the stay in the retro camper. It was cozy and outside was spacious and beautiful with plenty of spaces to run around and play.

Felt like family

Had such a lovely stay with Jackie and Chris. Not only were they super accommodating of our last minute booking, they moved our campsite to one safer and dryer in the weather. We spent a beautiful cozy night despite the rain, we even got to have a little fire before it got too wet! Wood bundles for purchase are large and generous. Got to meet both Chris and Jackie and felt like we'd known them for years. Highly recommend this sweet little spot-- we'll be back!!

Summer Camping Dream Come True

My group of 8 gals had an absolute blast camping over the Labor Day weekend on Chris & Jackie’s property. They had everything we needed - firewood, a grill, tiki torches, a portable bathroom, drinking water, and a great sink that made washing dishes so easy. Chris and Jackie were both so kind and helpful, and they answered any questions we had about the campsite and getting to the state park. Each campsite was spread out enough that we really felt like we had our own personal haven. We enjoyed campfire songs, stargazing, and of course, Chris’s cool car collection. It was a perfect way to end the summer. Thank you Chris & Jackie for everything! :)

My family and I loved camping here. It was our first time. The hosts Chris & Jackie are very attentive. Whatever we needed, they were there. The space is huge and so lovely and clean. Definitely recommend and would love to go back!

Jackie and Chris were amazing hosts — warm, attentive, and responsive. The location was great, and we had everything we needed. Anytime we had a question or request, Jackie responded immediately. We loved the energy of the place and truly felt they did a wonderful job.

We had a great time camping on Chris and Jackie's land. The campground area is wide open, with soft grass, perfect for the kids to run and play all the games we brought. The picnic tables, located right near the fire pit, were a convenient way to set up our meals, the other campsites were not too close, and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly strong. Chris and Jackie are wonderful hosts, willing to help in any way they can. I would recommend this camping spot for groups; it feels like you have your own private campground.

Chris and Jackie were great hosts! We ended up renting the entire property for the weekend and they were communicative from start to finish as we found a booking to meet our needs. A beautiful and well maintained property with well seasoned hardwood available for great fires. Highly recommend!

The property was well maintained and comfortable and Chris and Jackie were so hospitable, always stopping by to make sure we had all we needed. Our site had plenty of space and the property does not hold a lot of campers so we never felt like we were “apartment camping.” We were traveling with young kids and the nice open space was great for them to play baseball, soccer, lacrosse, etc. we also had two dogs with us and they were so happy to be on cozy grass with a wooded area close by. My family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we were close to all the activities we wanted to participate in.

The hosts were great. They land was beautiful and the wild life was out, specifically deer and a lot of woodpeckers. They delivered the firewood and water down to us. Made sure we had what we needed but respected our space

Lovely people, amazing trip

So much good stuff to say about these folks. My family and I were a group about 12 strong, so planning and finding campsites is usually a huge pain. However, booking and setting up the yearly trip was so easy this time around. We had the whole site to ourselves, so Chris and Jackie gave us the run of the land. The facilities arent extensive but they are exactly what you need for a weekend camping trip. Notably, no one in the group got a tick or mosquito bite, even though we were deep in summer at that point. The sight of the stars in this area was breathtaking- each night, our whole group laid out in the grass to stargaze, and we even saw multiple shooting stars. Rickets Glenn is only a short 20-30 minute drive depending on where you go, and the park has a huge variety of trails as well as truly breathtaking views. The only thing I could think to gripe about (and I had to dig to think of it) is the fact that you can't bring your own wood- but their wood is relativley cheap, and it burned nice and slow. A few bundles lasted three days, plus we cooked with it. In all, Chris and Jackie made our lives so easy and made us feel really welcome. Can't go wrong with these folks.

We had a fantastic time tent camping on Jackie and Chris’s land. They are wonderful hosts and provided everything we needed, including firewood and lights. Their communication was excellent and they were very prompt! We also recommend taking a pontoon boat ride with Clark. He gave us a great tour of Harvey’s Lake and made the experience memorable. Thank you!

Beautiful environment with kind and welcoming hosts. All of the activities however has to be driven to so that was bit of a hassle. Also some information about the amount of spiders on the property would have been beneficial. Other than that had an amazing trip.
