The Heron Farm &amp; Event Center

The place was really nice. Besides the camping spots, there were also trails where you could go for a walk. We came mainly for stargazing, and we were not disappointed. The night sky was spectacular! There was a building with bathrooms, showers, and a dishwashing area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back!

Serenity by the pond!!

Site #10 is right by the Large Pond with a gradual slope into the water at the beach. I was able to park by a shade tree so that was very nice. The new bathrooms/bathhouse building is excellent, spotlessly clean and a short walk up a gradual incline from site #10. There was also an option closer by my site to use a porta potty as well. There is clean drinking water spigot near by also. Many walking trails in the woods, Artwork scattered throughout the property, Fairy gardens (bring little items to add to them). Ice on site for $4.00 a bag. Frozen meats in the onsite store and souvenirs. Julie, the host greeted me and all went well for the 3 days I stayed. Thank you!

The only reason site 11 wasnt for me was because I had a large group of people. Other than that any camp site and the Heron grounds is worth it. Its the most magical place

We arrived at the tailend of a festival and everyone was pretty friendly. The ground was a wet and I felt bad leaving a few ruts. We stayed in the RV area which was nice but I REALLY want to tent camp there! Excited for them to finish the bathhouse and the store was really cool with lots of merch and frozen meats. Looking forward to coming back another time when its in full swing.

I love that there is camping either in the woods, or open field. A real bathroom and showers are under construction. And they do some pagan stuff. You can buy produce grown on site.

Camp the Farm!

Clean air and a clean campground❣️Definitely had a hippy vibe to it, and was not far from the highway. The staff was in contact with me right after my same day reservation, and the owner I met was welcoming. There are port a potties and showers available, but they are in the process of building an actual bathhouse. There is also a pet fee to be aware of. I would describe this as rustic camping, so do not expect something like a formal campground with paved parking spots, fire rings, and picnic tables at the sites. Think open farm field, walk in woods camping. I would stay again❣️

When we got there I wasn't handed a bunch of papers and rules so I was a little unsure how everything was going to go, but I soon realized everyone was incredibly helpful, they have signs everywhere with what you need to know so they don't have to waste paper and they were just easy going and accommodating. As a single mom camping with a small child every interaction with guests and staff was positive and I never felt uncomfortable. The staff, realizing I had a small child, offered suggestions that made all the difference and later realized they were teachers. Highly recommend. We look forward to coming back 😊

Definitely such a different environment and it's beyond anywhere I've stayed before. From the sounds of horse and buggies coming down the road to the owls at night. You get to experience a very peaceful space with so much to see on the property and even locations nearby. Everyone we met who worked there were the most genuine and nicest people ever. Will be back again many times.

Nice location and friendly staff but lacked organization and amenities for the price charged. I arrived for a one- night stay on June 5, 2025. I had to ask around to find someone for check- in. The camping site was a grassy area with electric output and water nearby, nothing else like a fire pit or pic nic table. The website mentioned showers but these are still in the process of being built. No flush toilets either just porto potties why were clean. Also, no sinks or places to wash up. One - night stay including pet fee ($20) cost $104 CAD, which is too much for primitive camping.

The Heron is a One of a Kind Place

Our group is relatively new to camping and we were looking for somewhere to set up for Memorial Day Weekend. I stumbled across The Heron online based on the good vibe/impression I got from the photos. The Farm itself is stunning. There’s so much to see - you’ll find hidden gems all over the property. The people who work there are wonderful - so kind and welcoming. It’s clear they genuinely care about the place and care that you experience what they love about it during your stay. They happened to be doing wellness activities all weekend, along with a May Day festival with live music. When we camp, we normally leave our campsite and venture off to hike at parks in the surrounding areas. We only left The Heron once during the weekend for supplies - we had everything we could want to do right there, so there was no need to leave. We got so much more than we expected. Certainly the most memorable camping experience we’ve had thus far. We’ll be back for their yearly music festival in July!

Wonderful people around - friends and family that live on site. So much to see and do, especially during Wellness Weekends with scheduled events! Please bring an eye mask, or consider camping away from the lights that line the woods paths. Some of them flash all night, and some might be angled straight at your tent!

First time camper and Herons land exceeded all expectations! The owners and the staff were very welcoming and showed us around the campsite. We were able to choose where we wanted to stay after they showed us around. There are several portapotties available and a few shower stalls. Showers are $5. There are sinks with running around in the same area as the stalls. They even have a cute farm store loaded with tinctures, organic meats, teas, etc. They have PLENTY of firewood and ice! Herons land set the bar and we can't wait to come back!

The park and carry to the primitive sites were easy. Nice and groomed campsites with ready fire pit. Lovely land with tons of beautiful trails. This land hosts the great blue heron music festival every year, so there’s extra added charm. The clear night sky was fantastic. Got some pork chops and eggs on my way out at the farm. Also- a plus that my dog was welcome!
