This would be a great site if you are arriving by kayak or canoe. It was very quiet and the neighbors were friendly. Great night of sleep. No shade at the car/rv camping spots.

The location was secluded, which I like. The owner was very courteous and helpful. It was a great place for my dog who got the opportunity to wander. Although it rained most of the time which I’m OK with, it was an enjoyable environment to be in.

Great little spot!

This was a really nice little spot! Would definitely come here again. I camped here with my 8-year-old daughter. When I got there, I called and he gave me permission just to go ahead and set up at our site. We explored a little, fished at the creek, had a nice fire. A person (Assuming it was the owner) came around on an ATV around dusk and just asked if we were all good and when we said yes he just kept on moving. So appreciated the quick check in. They were out of firewood when I got there but a quick 5 min trip to a gas station down the road and we got some. There were a few other occupied spots but everyone kept to themselves and stayed nice and quiet. If you’re on the side by the creek, you get some noise from cars out on the main road across the creek, but it was minimal. It have been a perfect trip, but got POURED on with some major overnight storm. Hoping to come back again and get some nicer weather!

The site itself is great with plenty of room for several tents and access to the water. Curt is very friendly and was responsive to issues we had regarding other campers. He even stopped in to check on us and shake my hand. It's great having a toilet and wood available, things were close by but not too close. The only issues we had were with other people. Some of the other spots had a large group who blasted their music all night (and I'm not that old to complain about something trivial, but it was excessive and not peaceful/relaxing at all for most of the night(s), not to mention they weren't even directly next to us and we still heard - and felt- them). And people who kayak will pull their stuff out of the water and walk through your site, and they all say they are told they're allowed to do that. Most of the time they are gone in 10-15 minutes so not a big deal at all, but we had one episode where people left their kids and barking wet dogs alone there at our site and were gone for about an hour getting their car and loading up. Bottom line - just keep that in mind if you hipcamp to get away from the craziness of state parks and have some privacy and actual quiet. This was our 2nd year camping here because we loved it (and will probably return), but the 2nd year, the people made it 6/10 instead of 10/10. But owner is great and site itself is really nice if you have considerate neighbors and kayakers!

RV sites not recommended

We stayed in 158C Narrows Rd, and the photos for that particular site are very misleading, as is the language about a short walk to the site. (You can pull or back into your gravel site from the road.) These are the kinds of RV sites we've come to expect from a Harvest Host, not HipCamp, so if that's what you want, it's what you'll get: Full sun, flat site, and small concrete slab. We booked this HipCamp for electric and water hookup between boondocks on our RV road trip, and I regret not booking the traditional campground down the road instead. The trains weren't too bad -- one or two a day -- but only fifty feet or so from the sites. There is NO creek access from the RV sites without walking down the road to the tent sites (which are absolutely gorgeous, so we'd recommend those). To dump, we would have had to call some guy; we opted to wait until we got to a travel center. (The local trad campground only allows dumping for a fee on the weekdays.) We enjoyed the small town of Zelienople and the historic town of Harmony during our stay. Curt was responsive to our messages; this just wasn't our cup of tea as teardrop HipCampers who enjoy more natural settings due to the small size of our RV.

Beautiful spot. We had a perfect cooler weekend so bugs weren't an issue and no one else camped on our side of the road. Great fishing and lots of space! A little road noise during the day but nothing at night. We camped on the pond side. Suggest bringing extra firewood and TP.

We visited on a rainy weekend when it was pretty empty and we enjoyed the area. We did lots of bird watching in the waterlily area, relaxed around the nice campsite with good fire ring and clean restrooms and we took a trip to McConnells Mill during the day. The camp host was responsive when we reached out and let us move sites when the one we booked had a puddle near the fire pit. Overall, nice spot for a little camping trip away from the crowds of the state parks.

Amazing site, but concerns

This site is magical and has everything I was looking for- close to hiking, site right along the creek for fishing, area in the creek to float, private and access to a porta potty. I would love to rate this 5 stars, but cannot. Curt, the owner of the property was great. He responded almost instantly to my questions and even stopped by in his truck shortly after I arrived to check in on me. However, later in the evening, the caretaker of the land (Donny I think) walked over to my site and came right up onto me as I was enjoying my campfire. He said he was checking on me and wanted to make sure I was aware of all the property amenities. That first visit would have been enough (although not needed because Curt already did this), however, Danny came by TWICE more to check on me. The last time was after dark and he walked right up to my site again as I was clearly enjoying the peace and quiet by the fire. I'm sure he means well and takes pride in his caretaking, but as a solo female camper it really creeped me out. Again, the property was amazing and I would definitely stay again if you ensure I won't be bothered by unnecessary checkins.

Peace by the creek

Curt was very helpful, allowing us to move further down into the site since we were only staying for one night. It's a beautiful spot, carved out along the creek and the lake. Unfortunately, our timing was not the best and the water was very low. We choose to take the kayaks elsewhere for the day. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a peaceful evening with plenty of firewood!!! Thanks Curt, we'll see you again!

Nice campground with plenty of space to spread out. Quite possibly the cleanest porta-potties I’ve ever used! Would definitely stay again. One thing to note is that a train came through in the night, so you might consider bringing earplugs for sleeping.

A very quiet location although alongside a road. An evening train or two can be a bit loud, but fairly brief. If you like small towns, Zelienople is 10 minutes away - fun, weekly events, shopping and great food options.

It was a great spot! We had ducks coming around with little babies. Nice big fire pit. Porta potty could have been cleaned it was a little stinky but over all it was a great experience and camp site for the kids and dog. i will definitely come back in the future
