Our family had so much fun at Kristen’s! We paired up with another family and reserved both tent camping sites, which I highly recommend because we had the whole place to ourselves. The setting is lovely and the amenities are so nice - the Watershed has everything you could need and more. Kristen and her family were so welcoming, our children loved getting to visit with the chickens and gather eggs. I highly recommend Kristen’s to anyone who wants to visit Rocky Gap and loves camping, but doesn't love all the potential noise of the public campgrounds.

This was our first Hipcamp booking and we had a fantastic experience. The Watershed was a very welcome amenity. Kristen is a wonderful host. Our kids loved having so much space to run and play (and meeting the chickens!). The only drawback was that there were a lot more ticks than expected but they didn't spoil our fun.

Evergreen Grove Campsite
Evergreen Grove Campsite was the first Hipcamp site I've stayed at and Kristen's space was exactly what the description and pictures implied. The Water Shed was convenient and had all the things I needed. There was even firewood for the fire pit. The space was close to Kristen's house, but still peaceful. Kristen was sweet and greeted me once I arrived. There were hikes within walkable distance. My only regret is that I'd stayed two nights instead of one!

Such a beautiful view, beautiful location and cozy accommodations. Kristen was incredibly helpful and had the cabin well stocked. Despite it being November the cabin was very warm with the heaters, glamping at it's best

Pine Meadow Campsite
Wonderful place to camp. The site is very easy to access and was scenic and very quiet. The shared Waterhouse is extremely clean and well stocked. Kristen is so kind and welcoming, and really made the entire trip an excellent experience. Would camp here again!!

Great spot, perfect for a getaway from Baltimore for my wife and me. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and we had such a fun time eating all our meals by the fire and exploring Rocky Gap. Kristen was very helpful! We will be back for sure!

My wife and I had the best time at WonderWoods! Kristen was such an easy going, and thoughtful host! She has many items in the bathhouse for people to use in case they forget something, and the facilities were perfectly maintained. Always tons of firewood on hand, and a beautiful location that is big enough to enjoy alone time, with a big fire or friends if you wanted. We have already told all of our friends, and recommend this spot for anyone like us looking to get away from city life for a while. Can’t wait to return.

Our family had such a great weekend here! The kids loved the open space and the clean facilities. The bathrooms were well-maintained, and the campfire area was perfect for roasting marshmallows & barbecue. Highly recommend for families looking for a safe and fun getaway.

Kristen has created an excellent campground. The “watershed” with its two bathrooms, a shower, and small kitchen is exceptionally convenient and well appointed.

Beautiful spot, easy to find, and the “water shed” (hot shower, flush toilet, mini kitchen) is a very nice touch. Kristen is super nice, friendly and communicative, and loaned me a headlamp because I forgot mine. I stayed only one night on a yo-yo venture from Berkeley Springs but next time out will explore Rocky Gap SP. You CAN hear traffic from I-68 but it’s faint. Highly recommend and would stay again!

Evergreen Grove Campsite
We had a wonderful time at Kristen’s place. The water shed is a great addition to any camping experience and Kristen was very welcoming and helpful! there is so much to do in the area that we are already planning when to come back again!

Kristen was the sweetest host. The Acorn Palace was so cozy, clean, and full of snacks. It was my kids first time camping and it was just wonderful. She truly thought of everything to make our stay wonderful. Heat, AC, electric, hot showers, fully stocked kitchenette, our kind of camping. Can’t wait to return, would be a very romantic getaway with the husband.

We loved our 2 night stay here on Kristen's land! She was so welcoming and the bath house was a perfect addition. It's an easy walk to Rocky Gap state park. We also were able to drive and check out Frostburgs yaks and tracks and Swallow Falls State Park. We would stay here again!

Mostly I liked the watershed. Flush toilet and exceptionally clean and hot shower. The kitchen stuff is well outfitted, I brewed a pot of good, complementary coffee.
Kristen is an interesting host, and she is engaging if you wish to talk, but also respects your privacy and time.
The local is nice, they are planting even more trees, and the night sky was impressive. The nearby hiking has some cool views (see pictures).
Everything is labeled, but not in an oppressive way. Nice signage and organization across the board. Check out the signage for the toilet!

We had a fantastic 2-night stay at Acorn Palace! The area was peaceful, clean, and well-maintained—perfect for a relaxing getaway in nature. Her warm hospitality made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.

I booked the day of for a night on Kristen’s land and it was perfect for what I wanted - to be out in nature for the night but still have access to some amenities like an actual clean bathroom. Kristen made sure I had everything I needed for the night and offered recommendations for activities in the area as well. I was the only one staying that evening which made it extra nice. One of the best parts of this spot was the shed Kristen converted into a little bathhouse that also contained a kitchen with a fridge, coffee pot, and other cooking utensils! It was all so clean and looked very new. She even had some snacks available and s’mores ingredients! There were clean towels and a hot shower available, too. Honestly I was all set and felt spoiled - these are things you don’t typically get while camping..ha! I would definitely stay here again and recommend this spot to anyone who wants to be close to Rocky Gap for a night/few nights. Literally the only small downside (for me) was that the spot was almost full sun in the morning so in the summer it can feel quite hot but they had 2 picnic tables at my spot and one was in the shade so that helped. Thanks again, Kristen!

The Acorn Palace was incredible! The little walk up the hill, with the treehouse in the distance, really gave it a feeling of seclusion, but having running water right down the hill was super convenient. Sitting on the porch with the doors open, making a fire in the fire pit, and hiking in the state park right next door were all super fun! Kristen was an amazing host and we look forward to being back soon!

This is our second time here and it was just as wonderful as last time. Coming back again. Great location with plenty to do around. We explored Cumberland more this time around and enjoyed it.

This was our second visit to our absolute favorite camping place. The spots are grassy. The view is fantastic. There's woods all around. We're close to bike trails. Kristen is just a wonderful host and a great person. The watershed with the bathrooms is beautiful and has towels and a little kitchenette! We camp a lot and seriously doesn't it get any better than this.

Acorn Palace
The Acorn Palace is simply beautiful, stocked with everything and in a picture perfect place ! Rocky Gap Park with its pristine lake are the cherry on top. We swam in the clear water and the beach is clean and with all the amenities.
Kristen is an amazing host! She is kind and attentive and at the same time makes sure to give you plenty of privacy.
Would definitely recommend!

It was one of the most beautiful nights we ever had. The place is so maintained and magical and the amount of fireflies was absolutely shocking. It was an experience to remember forever.

Such a beautiful space! We stayed 2 nights. Kristen is super kind and welcoming! There were snacks in the fridge and chickens and chicks for the kids to see. The fireflies at night were spectacular. Truly a great spot to camp and you still get a toilet and running water!

Not only is the location right in the state park, the host is extremely accommodating and friendly. The wet house is a spectacular bonus. There is a fridge and stocked tiny kitchen for quick meals or coffee in the morning. Was also nice to have electricity if needed for recharging, etc. I spent my evening in the state park mountain biking. The state park is very nice with tons to do. There are some nice trail systems, and one giant loop around the lake. I would highly recommend this hipcamp to anyone, especially those who seek adventure. . If I come through that way again, I will gladly stay there. 10/10
