Our group absolutely loved this stay, and we plan to be back again this year hopefully. Great sites, spread out from other sites/campers, with ample space for our dogs. Wonderfully kept farm, and the grass-fed beef on the way out was great as well (we wish we bought more for our freezer)!

5 Star HipCamp! Great for families and pets. The property is beautiful and peaceful and the host, Steve went above and beyond. Site are spread out and plenty of privacy. Water is available right at the site. Nice fire ring and picnic table as well. Porta potties are a sort distance away from any site and appeared to be new and very clean. The main building has Starlink wifi available and a few things to buy if you need something. Also a restroom is available in the building. Our favorite part is that the sites are right along the river for easy access. Water was high from all the rain when we were there but I am sure at normal levels this would be a great fishing spot. An added treat was the ability to buy top grade beef grown right on the property. We took some home and loved it. Better price than the store and you know where it came from! River Farms is highly recommended and we will be back again soon. We are veteran Hip Campers and this is one of the best we have ever visited.

We loved this place. We are planning our next trip here later this summer so we can swim and fish. It may be on the more expensive side, but the privacy is so worth it. There is a bathroom and shower located at the main barn. Just make sure you follow the posted directions. We had Xfinity service and it was spotty. But was nice though not be on them! We explored some local breweries and can’t wait to explore more. We recommend Chilly Hollow Brewing!

Fantastic site - secluded with beautiful river view and access!
Camp site had great layout - lots of space with nice tables and access to clean, dry firewood (option to purchase at very reasonable price).
Awesome experience from start to finish, would highly recommend to anyone/all!

This is a beautiful, secluded site. The entrance road and main barn/shop are directly visible from the site, but are far enough away that you still have ample privacy, with no other camp sites nearby. There's plenty of river shoreline to explore, and fields for kids to run free in. A clean porta-john is on site, as others described, and only used by this site. The nearby creek and swimming hole, as well as the river, would be great to enjoy in warmer weather (it was too cold to swim during our stay). There's plenty of field space for multiple large tents, and several spots for small-medium tents among the trees if you need the shade.
Steve was a great host, answering all of our questions promptly, both before and during our stay. We would definitely stay here again, and are looking forward to trying the fresh beef we bought from Steve's shop.
My only recommendation is to bring a splitting axe! Plenty of firewood was stacked on-site, but it was all large rounds (~10" diameter or larger), so we had to split the wood ourselves for burning.

We had a great time on River Farm. The campsite was right on the river with a beautiful view of the farm. Steve was a great host and had everything we needed (grill, table, firewood). Will definitely try and come back.

Great spread of land! Quiet and serene and huge amount of space to spread out camping site. Steve was accommodating and his grass fed beef is amazing. Kids want to go back!

Great, private spots with river views and really nice amenities (fire pit and picnic tables). The owner was super nice and made sure we were all set with wood for our fire. He sells grass-fed beef from his land and we were excited to grab some on our way home. Highly recommend this campsite and will definitely be back again!!

Beautiful location! Steve was very welcoming and gave us great information about the area. The site was spacious and private. We enjoyed seeing deer every morning and evening, heard some coyotes in the distance, and saw several blue herons and bald eagles on the river. We also bought some grass-fed beef which was excellent. Would come back!!

Steve was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. This site was very shady (huge plus in August!) and close to the waterfall which was spectacular (and the dogs loved it!). There was a picnic table, clean port-o-john, critter-proof trash can, fire pit, and a grill available to use. The campsite sits on top the bank of the Shenandoah river, which flows about 12 feet below you. We brought our binoculars and watched bald eagles and red tailed falcons hunt all day. We saw plenty of deer and didn't have any issues with mosquitoes or ticks.
There's a spigot about a half mile away for potable water, and there are showers available at the RV campsite which was about a mile away.
We couldn't have designed a better location! Trees for shade, hammocks, and clotheslines... A peaceful babbling river... And plenty of firewood. We had a fantastic time. Steve has grass-fed beef available for purchase too, so don't worry if you didn't pack enough meat!

Great set-up, as promised! Steve guided us down to a grassy clearing overlooking the river, and we were able to set up camping hammocks and tents among the trees. My teenage son loved leaping off the ledge of a nearby waterfall into a swimming hole. Just wish I’d brought my binoculars for bird-watching on the river in the early mornings…

This was our first Hipcamp and it was amazing. Steve was a great host; friendly, attentive and very understanding as we arrived late to the site. The setting was peaceful and perfect for our stay. I’d definitely recommend and look forward to going back!

We enjoyed our stay at Steve’s camp site! He had a fire pit, grill and multiple tables and chairs. He met us at his gate to guide us to the camp which was super helpful. One helpful note for everyone: Bring your shoes inside the tent with you, or else you’ll be looking for them across the field (we think deer took them) lol it was a good laugh for our group! The sunrise on the field was soo beautiful, 10/10. Thanks Steve!!

This was a fabulous night on Steve’s farm! We had a very private campsite on the river. No one for a mile either direction. Plenty of wood, great fire ring, picnic table, trash can and really nice clean bathroom.s.
There were camping trailers around us but Steve said he was done renting them for the season.
He responded to us quickly about finding a grate for cooking. It was just over at the next fire pit. The property is absolutely beautiful! My dogs had the time of their life exploring. My younger dog Zizi didn’t want to leave and jumped out the window when we started to drive off. We reassured him that we would be back.

We really enjoyed our time at Steve's campsite. The river was incredible- we did some fishing and swimming most of the day. The scenery was beautiful and be sure to visit the waterfall at the other end. The only downsides were the lack of shade in the afternoon sun (we would bring some sort of canopy or shelter next time) and it wasn't as (very) secluded as I was hoping for. Overall it was a great experience and we're already planning on coming back again. Steve was a wonderful, kind and helpful host! Thanks!

Camping here was great! He has a lot of land right on the Shenandoah river and we got to do a lazy river float down it. Would highly recommend staying here.
